  1. Looks pretty good to me, although I don't have any sound on so I can't hear it. You are welcome to put it in Runescape media as well.
  2. I would expect sy to do as you said and separate it more into categories than time when he gets to the modern things, but the older ages and base lore have less information so separating into groups wouldn't help much.
  3. Just a few typos I picked up. First Para: Second Para: Second Para: Looking good so far. Would be nice if there was a way to link between parts where you say to refer to x race.
  4. This is the sort of Video Jagex need to see. It gets the point across without being insulting or over the top.

Gaming was already in the hands of the masses, this isn't 1995. Let's spare the faux-inspirational speeches, it's starting to sound like a Shigsy speech. It's biggest selling point was it's cheap price. And now, Wii users can thank nintendo for designing short lived money drainers. Meanwhile, both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have held steady (if not increased) in sales while Nintendo hurries up to create their newest gaming fad. And I'll dismiss it as insignificant because its power is underwhelming and things we already have seen, just as people dismissed motion controls on other consoles because we already saw it on the Wii. Hypocrisy, thy name is the Casual Gamer. If there was a 'revolutionary' feature, we would've heard about it already, much like we did when we found out about Wii1's motion controls. If you're excited for the Wii2, good for you. I like it because it'll bring more competition in Microsoft and Sony's range, finally, and competition is good. But don't go touting it and its predecessor to be some life changing videogame messiah. It wasn't. ...C'mon now. Firstly, please tell me, apart from the NES to SNES where Nintendo have made a console which is sequel and direct follow up to another. Secondly, I'm sorry but I massively disagree that gaming was with the masses before the Wii. Young kids, grandparents, adults as well as young adults/teens are masses, young adults/teens alone are not the masses. It is not the price alone which made it so widespread, it's intuitive controls which could be used by anybody were the main selling point. It wasn't a faster and stronger version of a previous console like Sony and Microsofts efforts, it actually had an impact on the market for games.

How can you say the console is insignificant when you acknowledge we know nothing about it. That leaves it more open to be revolutionary and significant. The most solid things I have heard about it so far are that it will have more 'regular' controllers than the Wii, but with a 6 inch screen on them with full game streaming. That could be taken as both gimmicky or revolutionary. It's relevant to remember that people lamented the Wii when it was announced and released for being garbage but it has outsold the others, as I say, by a country mile. It has single handedly brought gaming to the masses. It is now considered one of the success stories of recent technology. It is obvious that it's sales would eventually decline, nobody doubt that, it was inevitable, as it is with all consoles. In short, just because the current console seems insignificant to you, doesn't mean it is to everybody, and that can also count for the next one.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if it was somehow linked to Betrayal of Falador. From people who have read it it sounds like a good read so would be the most logical thing to make into a film. Pessimism at a short link to a bank is just funny and without any base, as well is any comment about selling out.
  8. The Antipodean squirrel is a highlight.

Apart from NES>SNES, Nintendo don't do things like normal companies and just produce a sequel console like Sony or Microsoft do. They seem to reinvent themselves every console.
  10. Very much looking forward to seeing the end result.
  11. I have a feeling you may need some sort of very large diagram. Edit: It would probably also be best to start from the beginning, so starting with the base lore (from making history) then the events of the different ages before our characters were made. That is probably the best thing to do to set up the groundwork for any other storylines.
  12. I agree actually, although many things are rumours. It would be nice to have a complete (as far as we currently know) lore of runescape and it's quests around here. I know Sy could probably fill in a lot of things. If enough things were gathered, I'm sure the crew would be happy to help and maybe even have it on the main site.

OK, two points: 1) Sales - Xbox is now selling more than Wii, which is selling more than PS3, though really there's no country mile between any of them: http://uk.gamespot.c...nes%3Btitle%3B6 2) Hardcore gaming - Really? You've actually competed on Smash World then? Only they actually discourage the use of Nintendo's in-game SSBB matchmaking system because it fails to punish bad habits and therefore isn't good practice for tournaments. In fact it doesn't even adhere to standard global Smash World rules. Some criticise SSBB as a retrograde step in terms of metagame from SSBM. Mario Kart Wii's online games can be hacked, making it unsuitable for proper online competition unless done through a dedicated fansite. You still can't even talk to people online unless you have their Friend Code. Nintendo don't give a damn about anything hardcore except Pokemon, and even then, the removal of Vs Seeker is a clear attempt to make EV grinding much harder, and the lack of guarenteed Ditto snags in B/W renders IV-breeding hard for those without Gen IV games. How you can say Nintendo are still hardcore is beyond me. They have all been around for at least 5 years now. Eventually Wii would slow down in its sales, but it is a fact (not disputable) that Wii has sold more than the others over its lifespan. I would call wii's 85+ million console sales compared to 50+ million from the other two a clear country mile. There really isn't need for the anger, I was merely stating my view that in a way, it can be seen as the more hardcore console. To me, grimy FPS games and sports games which seem to take a majority share of those played on the 360 and ps3 actually cater to more casual gamers than games like Zelda and Smash Bros. Again, that is only my view and you are welcome to view otherwise, but it is a fact that Wii has sold better, thus catering to many more people than the other two consoles, has become a household name and a trnd setter for all consoles. It has in no short terms revolutionised modern gaming. However, I have this dispute often with people as to their definition of 'best'. To me it is what caters to the most people and sells best. It's a Mcdonalds vs Gordon Ramsey argument.
  14. The santas part is probably the best evidence so far for it being fakes, as well as the other part, and what sees_all is saying about it being easily faked, then recorded to make it look real. 100% fake.
  15. Danqazmlp replied to Demoli's topic in Off-Topic
You're joking, right? Yeah, sure, maybe if they released it years ago. But the Wii2 is nothing revolutionary and just Nintendo's plea for more money. All the popular games will be released on both consoles (Think twilight princess and the Gamecube) and it will be completely....underwhelming as far as technology is concerned. And really they spent their remake-old-games coin (most of which were flops, Donky Kong Returns was horrible along with Epic Mickey) in addition to already releasing the 3DS so I really don't know what games they're going to even showcase. Nintendo 'stealing the show' is a far cry from believable. Maybe they can show Skyward Sword and have the motion controls mess up again! I disagree. Rumours are of it being comparable, if not moe powerful than current gen-consoles, which would bring in third party developers, and possibly taking some away from other consoles, especially those who like to push hardware limits (crytek and Id) It's hard to remember, but the best selling console of this generation, but a country mile has been the Wii. It may not have catered to hardcore gamers (although I would argue it has done so more than the others if you count classic games as hardcore, and grimy FPS's as more casual 'graphics' gamer games) but it has revolutionised gaming in the current generation. We really know next to nothing about it, so pawning it off as insignificant is nothing short of console snobbery imo.
  16. I'm sorry but I have a habit of not believing people I don't know when they claim to have qualifications. Again you seem to be twisting words and not discussing my points. I did not say doctors don't want to prescribe it due to no proof of negatives, but because it has no proof of positives. They have many drugs they can prescribe that have been scientifically proven to be effective, marijuana has not. Doctors are the ones who would prescribe it, they are the ones who are ultimately responsible for the care of their patients. If they don't know a drug will work, they will not prescribe it. Any preconceptions you have about a government being against it does not altar that fact. I have yet to be shown evidence of the Canadian government stopping research into the benefits. I will repeat this just so it is clear, this is not about any negatives, only that there is no research and evidence proving the positives. Doctors will prescribe what they know works.
  17. Watch the video I posted. That person feels less pain when he gets high; a simple test could probably show that. Besides, if it's not proven to have negative effects, then why not? Doctors prescribe things to have a positive effect. If they wanted to prescribe something with no negatives the would prescribe water. It isn't that it has no negatives, it's that they have no proof it is beneficial. A simple video is not enough for medical research. If a whole countries doctors see there is not enough proof, there is a serious lack of information out there. They are much better of prescribing something they know is beneficial than something they don't know. Again, to the post above, I'm not saying it has negative effects. People seem to be confusing this with legalising Marijuana. This is about doctors not knowing the positives well enough to prescribe it over something else. Please show me proof of this here-say. Although I may just leave this thread as I often get so tired of arguing with people who are always saying to legalise marijuana without any first hand experience of it or it's effects, not knowing any research other than online videos, movies and other non-academic sources, often because they just think it is cool or the 'thing' to argue for.
  18. And every minigame... Especially Soul Wars. 90% of the Soul War population on world 9 is bots. It's sad as [bleep]. I wouldn't say every minigame. I haven't heard of somebody making a castlewars bot yet.
  19. It's a bit ridiculous, as said in a few posts above. 3 months is not enough time for them to change the system and the judge in question has really made it impossible for the government to do anything. I think the view of the doctors is the one people should be using. If doctors are so opposed to prescribing it due to a lack of any study into it's benefits, why should it be prescribed? Basically, the Judge thinks people should be allowed access because, as in the quote, it is "necessary", but doctors (the people with qualifications in medicine) have seen no proof of this. So in short, somebody with no medical training is saying that they can't not prescribe something that has no benefits? That seems totally reasonable.

The next Nintendo console will surely steal the show. Apart from that, maybe some news on Hl3 would be nice.
  21. Then where would the proof be of what happened? And posts are hidden for privacy of the users. If someone was warned for committing an offence it pretty much advertises it on the post. Most of the time the posts are moved to a private area of the forum that the staff uses called the ZAP boards to be used as evidence. The mods discuss what action should be used. If you pay attention to your post count when your posts are "removed," you'll usually notice that it remains the same. This means that your post was moved to the ZAP boards. I don't even think we have the ability to fully delete posts, at least not without going through the ACP which only super moderators and admins can. If a post is rule breaking, it will usually be removed whether it is swearing, pornography or personal attacks. Flaming and arguments are also removed due to them cluttering up a thread and often leading to people quoting them after a moderator has intervened.
  22. That's what happens when I try eating while posting. Edited it. It should have been 'not' instead of 'now'
  23. Well advertising other forums outside of the Advertise your thing here! thread and signatures is not allowed so links to other forums in posts should be reported as far as I know.
  24. I do not want to have to say this again, if you think somebody is trolling/flaming, report it but do not reply to it, you just make our work much more time consuming and end up doing the exact same thing as them. Keep this discussion civil and report things if you think they cross the line. Then simply ignore them until a moderator can deal with them. Edit: Just to clean up, the posts discussing the above actions after this one were removed.
