07-Jun-2011 Deadliest Catch
Turoths are deserted as well. Has Jagex finally released something that takes down bots or are they just unusually slow in turning back on after the update? (does this require a new thread?) EDIT: Blue dragons empty too.

Dunno about other locations, but when I went to the Sorceress' Garden, there was no one else there. That's where I head about. Any chance that anybody could look in other locations? [qfc]15-16-996-62861426[/qfc] The post halfway down, Mod Emilee says they are trying something new which relates to the huge decrease in bots after updates. Could they finally be rolling out something that works?

I'm hearing about there being a huge reduction in bots from this update, more than the normal who get taken out by updates. Can anybody confirm this?

What about when a family member/gf/friend wants to use the TV? Don't most people have more than one TV? They do, but most don't have more than one console. Many people will have a main television which has everything hooked up to it, including their console, usually located in a family room. Take my house for example, we have the main TV in the living room which has sky+, a Wii and a 360 hooked up to it. The reason is due to it usually being the largest and best TV in the house. Now when other family members want to use the TV, others can't use the consoles. With the new screen, this would not be the case and you could continue playing. Or imagine being a student not being able to afford a TV, in theory (from what I've seen) you would be able to play without one, just on the controller. It may not be the case for those who live alone or have Tv's to themselves, but for many people that isn't the case. @Demoli: Watch this video of an earlier trailer, uses the same music. what do you hear in the second half?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBaVUFZi9wg

I still love it, and still also love the Huge easter egg in the video. I'm hoping we find out a little of the origin story of the Hero in Ocarina due to it being the first game set before that in the timeline. Although knowing Nintendo, they won't mention it at all. Also, what was the big monster swallowing the girl (presumably zelda?)

A small quote from somebody with hands-on experience of the controller, doesn't sound as bad as predicted: Also, looking at pictures, it is smaller than it first seems. It looked quite large and bulky, but on other pictures, it actually looks a lot smaller, roughly A5 paper in size.

What about when a family member/gf/friend wants to use the TV? Quickly switch to the controller screen and continue playing as normal. Want to play console quality games while lying on the sofa, outside or in bed? Switch to the controller screen. It's semi-portable console gaming basically. Add onto that all the things the second screen on the DS comes in useful for. I could see it becoming very useful in the future. I just want to see the actual console.

I never thought of price. Backwards compatibility with Wii is nice for controllers, but eventually people will want multiple of these controllers. While most console controllers are quite cheap due to the technology not really being inside them, this thing has a lot inside it. Would multiple controllers even be compatible? Nintendo didn't show anybody at all using more than one, all the multiplayer screens were with one and others using Wii controllers.

I'm pretty sure that thing is just the controller and that there's still a "faceless" console. Then I am very mixed. New 3rd party games is a definite good thing, especially if EA are bringing their big games. Also very good if as rumour were true, but not established at the conference, it is more powerful than the current Gen. The new ways of playing sound pretty good too, especially the TV-less gaming, which as somebody who's consoles are generally in a family room could come in very handy. However, the controller looks quite awkward and too square to realistically play a game on. It's the sort of thing you need hands on experience with to know if it would truly work.

What happened to it being a new console? I'm very very disappointed. It has some nice features such as the screen thing but it just seems like a waste. I was expecting something new, not an add-on to the wii. It's kind of confusing and very strange. Sounds as if it is the console itself, in your hands, which can stream the picture to the TV or the screen in your hands. EDIT: Lego city stories? Lego GTA my god.

Correction: THE bi-annual appropriately-hyped Space Marine FPS games. Can you honestly say there will be anything new? Don't get me wrong, it will probably be a good game, just not epic and as hyped as people make it out to be. It will be a FPS. They should have left it where it did as it had a perfect cliffhanger. I just can't get excited about Microsofts conference. Nothing was really new apart from the Halo announcement. Way too much kinect, a real turnoff.

You have to admit though, it does seem strange for them to release a tease with just a single character, as well as it being so small. Was the model for the builder carrying the log that counts every tick updated in that teaser?

I think it's the camera angle we play from. i agree, it could very well be. A closer or more free camera would allow us to really see the detail Jagex put into some characters and areas. The woman above actually looks like she would belong in the original Fable game to me.

That close-up picture shows that Runescapes graphics are actually quite good and have quite good character models. Yet somehow, the whole package doesn't come across as any good. I think it might be the lighting or something along those lines because I have seen games with much less detail in the characters but still with a feeling that the graphics are better.

Why aren't passwords case sensitive?
I'd also add onto the above two posts, there is probably a big reason stopping them from doing so. I don't know what it is, but with how security concious Jagex are, I would assume it isn't as simple as turning on a switch, else they would have already done it.

RuneScape Membership Cards - Price Increased
Yup checked in Game today still £4.99 for 30 days. I'm sure the ones we sell are £5. I could be wrong though. We have a large pile of these sorts of cards which we have had in stock since last summer. First nobody bought them (Not only Runescape, but ones like NEXT, Debenhams and Argos didn't sell at all either), then they took them off the system meaning we couldn't physically sell them. We then dumped the stand we had for them as it was taking up space and threw the cards into a little box. Now they have re-instated them and we can finally sell them, except they are now in a Tupperware box next to one of the tills where nobody will ever notice them. If they didn't sell before, they sure as hell won't now. I wonder if we will still be able to sell them if the price increases? They have the price on the front so we couldn't just sell them for more.
