  1. watch a movie or phone a friend or play movie trivia or listen to music or go to wikipedia or take a walk or make something to eat or...That's what I do when I am bored.
  2. You were talking about sequals of movies "like that", so you didn't mean sequels in general, I think that's obvious, Hanni. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but you did put it that way, so I don't think I am to blame for that. And since you haven't seen the movies, how can you judge it on your opinion? Since you can't have one because you haven't seen the movies, ratings do matter. And I'm willing to give some justification of my own opinion. I'm not really into the type of fantasy of "Lord of the Rings" gives you, I admitt, it looks good and all and the adaptation of the books was probably very good (I haven't read the books), also the music of the movie was nice (I still think Star Wars' music is better). "Star Wars" does something with me, I sit in the cinema (or at home), and only when I hear the opening tune, and I see the text that comes along with it I start to shiver and I know I am going to enter a world of action, comedy, romance and drama. The nostalgia of "Star Wars" is just amazing. And with "Lord of the Rings", as much as I loved the beautiful landscapes, and really liked the music everything got ruined by the sometimes horrible acting and overdone sentiment. "Lord of the Rings" never seemed to catch any other emotion than irritation (that is an emotion?). As for Spiderman, I just liked Spiderman better, everything with it and that had always been, X-men are just less interesting, I think. Too much characters maybe, I don't know.
  3. I don't really see what's so bad about the cover of American Pie, I can listen to it easily...
  4. Ah, your opinion suddendly is truth, great. I'm going to see it wednesday, I'll post what I think of it. But if I should believe you I shouldn't like it, I have got a good taste and I'm not a Harry Potter freak. So what happens if I do like it?
  5. I don't see anything in it, lol.
  6. Ronin - Nice thriller, 7/10 Dracula - Great fun. 7/10 And a more obscure movie made by the belgians...it's not a "dirty" movie, but I don't think it's meant to be openly shared on the forums. If you're interested, PM or MSN. :)
  7. Yay! I just reserved three tickets for the premiere, going with my brother and my mother, lol. :P
  8. Really depends what mood I am in, but basically I like everything. Sometimes I just want a catchy tune, sometimes I want the song to move me, sometimes I just want to get pumped up and sometimes I want to relax. And defining music is kind of hard.
  9. Aaaah, why does everything have to be here atleast one week later. I can't wait to see it!!
  10. I watched that last night ^_^ Ooh, you saw it with me aswell.
  11. Thirteen conversations about one thing - Had it for a while now, and finally decided to watch it. I thought it was a pretty good drama, it's kind of different to normal drama movies, thanks to various things such as the use of the music in the movie and the way of storytelling. Couldn't find much things that were wrong or somethin, but it wasn't perfect either. 7.5/10
  12. Since R&B/Soul didn't have any votes yet I submitted my vote to that. Though I like all genres of course.
  13. Probably only from Wallace & Gromit. Let's not forget Hauru no ugoku shiro (Howl's Moving Castle), from Studio ghibli, which had one (maybe more) oscar winning anime movie(s) before.
  14. Yea, and you gave reasoning but you haven't even seen the movies (with exception of LoTR), that's about just as useless, if not more useless. "Because making sequels on movies like that", it's not like they had to write another crappy script for it, it is based on comics that already excisted, just as they didn't have to write a new script for the second and third Lord of the Rings movie. Also, how many sequals based on comics other than X-men and Spiderman could you name? And how much of them are "profressively worse" (if you actually took the effort to look something up instead of just talking cack you would know they scored almost eqaully)? I bet it ain't too much, Hanni. And if you didn't like Star Wars for having "talking furballs" in it, and the movie consits of 70% fighting, why did you like Lord of the Rings? Which consists of 70% walking and the other 30% fighting and is full of all kind of fantasy creatures. You succeded in cranking up the intelligence level, but your post was just as moronic as the ones before you on this topic.
  15. Bob Marley and the Wailers - I Shot the Sherrif - Covered by Eric Clapton. I can't really compare All Along the Watchtower, the Hendrix version is instrumentally better I think, but the words have more meaning when Dylan sings it, IMO. Strangely enough Ican't think of much covers at the moment, lol. I think Neil Young did some Dylan covers as well...Dylan's first albums are covers only aswell, I believe..I should've taken notes while seeing the documantary, lol. Oh, and Subteranian Homesick Blues and Subterranean Homesick Alien, first one by Dyland, 2nd one bye Radiohead, not a cover, might be a hommage though. Ted Nugent and Neil Young both did "Ain't it the Truth" I got both songs, but can't listen to them now, don't know if they are covers. :P
  16. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - It was a dark and rainy night, and in combination with the upcomming movie I figured it was the ultimate moment to explore the wonderful world of magic at Hogwarts once more. Still a quality movie, it's a lot more mature than the earlier movies, but that's only logical, since the characters are a year older now. It has got a great deal of comedy, some 'dark' moments and some drama. I really liked the short (funny) shots that were a sort of intermission between some scenes, for example: the part where the bird flies away and suddendly gets caught by the big tree. Again they managed to capture the right atmosphere of the castle and everything and around it. They go a little deeper into the Hogwarts culture, for example the scene were Harry and his friends (not only Hermione and Ron) are trying the candy that makes you growl like an animal, and in this movie they bring some puber-problems to the attention, quite nice, because after all Harry and his palls are still teenagers. And of course a great score. I don't really see a lot of bad things, other than Daniel's acting at some points. I really enjoyed it, but not as much as the first time. 8/10?
  17. The '33 version or the ' 74 (or was it 76?) version?
  18. Pff, Matt, you only liked the Wyld Stallions after they became mainstream? Their early stuff is so much better.
  19. Ruud van Nistelrooy does look a bit like Donkey from Shrek though...
  20. People get pop-corned or laughed at when they go to the cinema alone? :? I never noticed that, lol.
  21. It's a stupid question anyway, if you think for five seconds you've got the answer. What could it be? "Uhm...when How2PK hears the word golf he thinks of rich snobs, hmm, why is he thinking about that when he hears the word golf? Would it be because of the poor workless people in his district play the game every sundaymorning? Or would it be because almost all people in his district who play the game "golf" are rich and snobbish? Hmm, I think I'll go for the first answer. " Please. The putting words in my mouth wasn't refering to you btw.
  22. I doubt you'll be in there alone, plenty of people are interested in Johny Cash.
  23. Your political correctness is sickening me. It's a topic about what you think when you hear the word golf, for God's sake. I answer the question (I really don't see what I could debate on this subject btw), and suddendly everybody starts to interpretate the reply the way they want and put words in my mouth to flame me? For what? The sake of discussion? Oh man, get out of here. It's just a fun topic, there is nothing to discuss.
  24. What albums do they have, what songs/album would you recommend when you are new to the band. When did they form, what do they stand for, what do they sing about, etc. etc.
