Loft It was 'alright'. I don't really understand why so many Belgian movies have such a clinical visual style, I don't really like it. Especially since it seems so useless in this movie; it works against the movie. The many twists that this movie has doesn't help either, nor do the subplots that aren't worked on to be quickly tied together at the end of the movie. Then there is the humor, which is funny for small time, but the fact that they are constantly repeating the same jokes doesn't make it last. Luckily there are some good actors in the movie, they kind of save it. Filip Peeters is brilliant, and I always like to see Matthias Schoenaerts, it's too bad that he's too much over the top in this role though. It's a sort of Scarface imitation, but he's no Al Pacino of course. Anyway. I sound really negative about the movie now. But still I enjoyed it, the problem is that I can't say why.
