I must say that I haven't listented to a lot of things. The 'family friendly' stuff doesn't really interest me. And the more 'brutal' stuff just doesn't really appeal to me; I can't really take it very serious, but I don't think it's funny either. Some things that do appeal to me are Crowbar, Sunn O))), Mastodon.

Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Clan of Xymox. Something more recent and also worth listening to; the birthday massacre. You could also try something different: the birthday party. Less synths, more guitar. The line between Post Punk and Gothic is also pretty thin, maybe you could take songs from bands such as Comsat Angels, Modern English, Chameleons as well.

the Happening Went to see this, and I wasn't expecting much of it. Since Shyamalan's last movies weren't exactly succesfull in my eyes. This one was a real surprise. I thought it was really good. Very creepy atmosphere, good locations, nice compositions, good combination of humor and suspense, and a nice sharp edge around it. It's good to see Shyamalan hit the right spot again. Also compliments for James Newton Howard's score. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines My collegue pushed me to see it, because he thinks it is the best movie from the Terminator series. I didn't expect much of it. But it was better than I thought. Still it doesn't even come close to JD. In a lot of ways this movie comes over as a weak parody of the first two movies. And in a lot of ways it seems very serious. This gives it a bit of a weird feeling; the world is going to be destroyed but we get shots of Ahnold with a 'girly' sunglasses on. It just doesn't fit. Still it has got some nice scenes, the car chase for example. But as said before: it doesn't even get close to JD. My collegue is going to be dissapointed with me. But I think I have got more reason to be dissapointed with him.

When Van Persie scored 2-0 I fell on my knees and put my arms in the sky. I yelled "Yes!!!! Perzik!!!"

I listen to good music. But I notice that many times I don't have much in common with metal.

the Doors AC/DC Dream Theater Coldplay David Gilmour Red Hot Chili Peppers Queen the Eagles Are just a few. But it doesn't really matter.

I think we were a lot better than France and Itality. Both teams played good, but their defence was laughable at times. And especially italy didn't have much to say on the midfield. And both teams did have some chances, but if you shoot all of your balls right into the keepers arms, it's not that weird that you are not scoring. We had a very hard time against france though. I think we will win from Romania as well. I don't know if Spain will be such a hard opponent. Sure, they score easily, but let us be honest: Russia wasn't that brilliant, and very naive in their defence. I still have to see how Spain will do against Sweden and Greece. Portugal will be a good match, but so far I'm more impressed by our boys than the Portugese. And, well, we're not in the finals yet.

Haha! Sie Germans have lost to Croatia! Now Holland tonight. I hope we're going to win from France. But I've got a bad feeling about it.

Here are some of my favorites. review (not by me) The wrinkles are because of the plastic that is still around the head. It is 1:1. review here (again, not by me) Those are two for the eye candy. The content of especially the second isn't that fantastic. Here are some boxsets with amazing content. I think my favorite box set is this one: fantastic movies, great extras (quality and quantity!), great cover art. And a very thick booklet with more info on the man and his movies. Review here. Film Noir Classics Vol. 4 I absolutely love the film noir collection series by Warner. They have put out 4 so far (they are all one sale at amazon now! from 40 to 25 dollars or something? Volume 4 even from 60 to 30!). And the 4th one is my favorite so far. 10 movies, and for noir buffs and the cinephile as well this is an absolute must. That is because of the selection of movies. Instead of the big ones they all go for kind of 'forgotten' classics by some of the masters of American cinema. I mean: Fred Zinneman, John Sturges, André de Toth, Don Siegel, Anthony Mann and of course one of the best movie makers of all time: Nicholas Ray. Who wouldn't want movies made by those guys in one box. And that for only 30 dollar! My next choice is a box released by the Masters of Cinema. It's a box with three classics by Japanese Director: Mikio Naruse. It's the first release of Naruse' movies in the Western world. And since then some of his other movies got released as well. BFI released a three movie box, and Criterion released one movie of him as well. Fantastic movies, great packaging; sturdy case, three keepcases with great artwork, a book that goes with a lot of information, essay and discussions about the man and his movies. A must for the fans of Yasujiro Ozu's movies. Masters of Cinema is a label to keep an eye on by the way, for the Europeans amongst us at least. Fantastic releases of Japanese classics (mainly 50s and 60s) and German Silents, and a lot of lesser known classics from all over the world. And any label that brings out more Mizoguchi in the world should get more attention! And for now my last choice: the 'Ningen no Joken' trilogy. Fantastic trilogy (one of the best ever made in my eyes), that had a very short release in the US (impossible to get for years!) and a Dutch DVD label released them last year. Which is an incredible thing, because here in Holland there can't be more than what, 200, people that buy it? But in this way I could finally see it! Nice booklets with every movie.

Hmm. Didn't we go trough that fase at the same time? :P I remember borrowing a Thin Lizzy greatest hits CD and ripping it on the pc and sharing it with you. :P Boy, that's a long time ago. Since then I never really paid much interest to them, but I really liked some songs from that CD. I should check them out again. I'll try to buy Jailbreak today. :)
