  1. If you want a good Beastie Boys album and something to 'chill' with, go for Paul's Boutique. More sample work, less guitar. Excellent album, and my favorite by them.
  2. Because today is my birthday (yes, everybody say CONGRATULATIONS DAAN! or even better, open a topic for me so you can all congratulate me!) my Grandma came by, and after getting her a good lunch, we picked out a gift for my birthday, of course I wanted movies, movies and more movies. So... Lektion i kÃÆÃâÃâärlek (A Lesson in Love/Lessen in Liefde) Sommarlek (Summer Interlude/Zomer Intermezzo) Aus dem Leben der Marionetten (From the Life of the Marionettes /Uit het leven van marionnetten) Wuthering Hights ('39 W. Wyler) Gentlemen Prefer Blondes ('53 H. Hawks) And the soundtrack of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid by Bob Dylan.
  3. Huh, you are like 25, right? You were late in cinema! Anyway, nice titles! although I'm not a fan of the hype titles (Amelie and Eternal Sunshine), but there's enough classics to make up for that. 8-)
  4. Good job on him. Although I rather do something meaningless like going to the beach, drink a lot of beer and get my back burned in my summer.
  5. I don't want to know what they see or if they see in their sleep. I'm just curious when they are awake, eyes open. What is it that they see? Nothing; blackness, or do they see just a very big blur. Can you pick up little things? I'm talking about completely blind here.
  6. Because I've been wondering for a while. What do blind people see? Is it completely black? Or just a blur? I'm so curious, I need to know it. But I don't know any blind people. And I doubt blind people browse an internet forum.
  7. Haha, just listened to something. Worth my money. I like that dirty sound!
  8. Yea, that's always a bit of a 'downside' of festivals. I'm going just for Arcade Fire, so they've got all the hall for their own, and nobody else that's going to play that day. And they've got a reputation for being awesome live, so I can't wait! :D
  9. I wonder what triggered Poopies heavy reaction though. Usually he seems quite normal, but GP labels a band wrong, he gets all worked up. He even 'shouts'. I wonder what went on in his mind when he read that Goldphishies labeled CoB as Death Metal. Are you really that annoyed by it, or did you have a bad moment or even a bad day and this got you in a state of rage?
  10. Donnie Darko Old Boy Leon Lola Rent ? :P Or are you going for a bigger list this time. 8-)
  11. You do need to mention it though. ^.^ It's alright.
  12. He's my favorite actor. I wonder why he's tried it. He probably has his reasons. Not for anyone to judge.
  13. LP, seriously. Get ]this you won't regret it. If you haven't got it already of course. You could also go for this one of course. :) Since you like Cunningham as well.
  14. Yes, of course they need to something for it. But it's weird that people are writing the PS3 off because it is expensive at the moment. When prices drop it will, most likely, sell a lot more machines. So it's a weird thing to say that the PS3 will lose because, at this point in time, it is expensive, and ignore price drops that will come. Don't you agree? It feels like I'm on repeat. I know that Sony isn't really loved on here. But I'm saying reasonable things, right? I agree that for this moment the 360 seems the best choice. But with an eye on the future, I'm leaning towards the PS3. Sorry.
  15. My point is that is idiotic to say that a console will do bad because it is expensive in it's first year(s).
  16. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible yea! Gonna see them live in november.
  17. Clearance sale, price drop. Same story. You can get it cheaper. And when there is a new version it will be available for less money after some time as well. And when you can buy it for less money more people will buy it. So the story remains the same. It's logical that they're not releasing their new version inmidetialy with a price drop for it. It's just a matter of time. Microsoft didn't do that with their Elite either.
  18. Try getting into something new. You could go on a musical journey to the world of Jazz. Which is really, really, immensly big and is suposed to be very interesting. Maybe you'll re-appreciate your music later, when you've taken a little distance from it.
  19. For those people who got a thing for videoclips there is a special series that I'd like to recommend. It's called the Directors Series and the DVD's are titled "The work of director " So far there have been seven of these releases and among them there's DVD's of Chris Cunningham (done a lot of the Appehx Twin videoclips) and Michel Gondry (A lot of Bjork, Chemical Brothers and White Stripes). There really is some brilliant material on it. I really like this clip by Michel Gondry done for the Chemical Brothers Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar. You need to have sound on though, otherwise it's hard to hear why this videoclip is so amazing. Another favorite of mine is Aphex Twin - Windowlicker done by Chris Cunningham. It's a tad freaky, but still great work. He has done Come to Daddy as well, which is a great clip. You might know Chris Cunningham from his Rubber Johnny experiment as well. Anothr one I think is very good is done by Blixa Bargeld for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Stagger lee and the Weeping Song, and there is Into My Arms, Hendry Lee (together with P.J. Harvey and shot in one take) and (Are you) the one that I've been waiting for...Sure, I know that I'm getting caried away with Cave, but they're really special...So I'll end with Karma Police
  20. Finaly somebody who works for his stuff! Congratulations.
  21. This summers has brought quite a few popular Electro bands. Check out Digitalism (album called Ideallism), Justice (album title is a symbol of a Cross) and Simian Mobile Disco (Attack Decay Sustain Release). It's not techo, but it's good music that fits into the 'dance' genre. It would be good trough your stereo as well (not all tracks though).
