I never really cared for stuff he's done. But of course it's sad when somebody dies. He used to pop up every once in a while during my youth. My grandma liked him as well, but she's also dead. :P

he did Streetcar named desire earlier. It's his first or second movie. Yea, it's unbelievable.

Uh, moment please. What are you using this information for by the way? Joined: 19 Jun 2004 Posts: 7,286 Search found 5674 matches Do you mean this? Kind of strange, are you really curious for this information? it's not really interesting or funny. Or did it really keep you awake during the nights, in that case I understand why you just asked it.

Well, I've been whining enough about it. It's time make a topic about it and close this episode. With the exception of one of two forumers, I never hear something about these brilliant musicians. One of the few wave artists still alive and kicking (musically), and of course more people on here should try it out. They've basically done everything from rough edged punk songs in their early days (till Tender Prey/The Good Son) to absolutely unique, instrumentally perfect and beautifully written balads (The Boatman's Call/No More Shall We Part). Seriously, I can't get enough of it. But I feel kind of lonely in this (on this forum at least, I realize I'm not the only Nick Cave fan on earth). So, what's up this. Why are we so rare on this forum. So far I've only seen Assassin, SpeedofSound and myself mentioning it. Anybody else like it? Or curious to how it sounds? Tell us! I'll gladly rave about it. Seriously guys. I'm listening to No More Shall We Part, and this is so unbelievably good. If you want I'll even go against my principles and upload this album so you can all listen to it. It's so insanely beautiful. Christ, you'll never hear anything like it.

Hey guys. This is not about movies (Nouvelle Vague) but music. Recentely I'm getting more and more interested in New Wave music. And with the recent revival of that type of music these days, it would seem interesting to open a topic about it. In film this idea has always seem pretty clear to me, but in music I can't really seem to get what this is about. I mean, I really like the music and I can hear the style, but I can't really find the how and why and whatever. So I was hoping that some kind of discussion could bloom from this, so that I (and others) could be educated a little bit, and hear about some things I haven't heard before. So far I've been listening to music from The Chameleons, Joy Division, The Comsat Angels, The Cure, The Smiths, Echot & The Bunnymen, The Sound, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Talking Heads/David Byrne, Blondie, and more recent stuff like Interpol and Editors. But I want to hear more, and know more about the style itself. Of course I could look all of this up at various websites, but it seems more fun to get to know it trough conversation with people on here, and maybe there are other people that could expand their horizons trough this topic.

Eva Green topless is always interesting. :P Yesterdaynight I decided to have some "Quality Time" with my brother, so I took a nice movie directed at younger audiences with me from work to tease him (he's 17 years old :')). I picked the movie Sky High because this one had been looking at me for a few weeks, and finally I took it with me. And I had a great time watching it. It's really cheesy and the special effects aren't really impressive, but it's fun. It's like Harry Potter but less dark and with super heroes instead of wizzards. ^.^

Maybe an idea for the future: mention the amount of games that equals 1/6 inventory full or ore. Or something among those lines.
-
The Legend of Zelda - Occarina of Time (N64) Super Mario Bros. 3 (SNES) Carmageddon (PC) Super Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) Duke Nukem 3D (PC) I don't know correct the systems are. Maybe they're on more systems, but these are the ones I played them on. I doubt these are the best games ever made, but they are the games I had most fun with when I grew up. Which was the time that I enjoyed computer games the most.

Usually I'm good with mentally handicaped people. At least, in my shop their parents always ask for me isntead of my collegues. Maybe I could give it a go when he still doesn't get it. Just tell me what to say.

Sjees, sorry to hear your penpal died, Bari. Although it was kind of humorous to read "Never had one since. :( " after you said she died during a car bombing. Like, losing a pen pal was so traumatic to you that you never wanted a new one. I never had any pen pals, it never really interested me. Besides, we never went on vacation till I was fourteen (we had a great city which was a vacation spot on itself, and we were five minutes from the beach), and at that time I couldn't be bothered with a pen pal, had better things to do. I don't know what happened to all these pen pals. Most of them are most likely still alive and writing. Ever tried http://www.penpal.com ? This topic is actually kind of funny. Every body talking about pen pals af if they were pets. :D How much is it for that whtie pen pal, out there in the back. The one with blonde hair? $25? pff. I can get one cheaper on e-bay. haha.

Depends on the quality of the songs. :P But knowing you I'm sure that's atleast all right. Stiff Little Fingers is one of those bands that i've been wanting to hear for a while, but that I never get around to. Could you recommend me something? I received my Dog House Music CD today by the way. Going to play it after this one is done.

1408 In cinema yesterday night. I got in it pretty soon and so I felt pretty much isolated from the crowded cinema. And I almost lost myself when watching the movie. The set is so creepy, and they just keep adding new layers to it. I was glad when it was over, because I didn't want to get back in that nightmare again. Brr. But it was great. Well worth seeing! Do it in cinema though, because the impact will be less big on DVD or behind your computer screen.

The 'industry' was too late trying to find something so they would fit better in the culture change that came aong with the internet. They're paying the price for that now. That's not an excuse though. I rarely download. I just look something up on youtube and sometimes I download something to get a bigger impression. But the thing I love most is go to the record store, get a bunch of CD's, go to the headphones, listen them and then decide to buy them or not. And you get out a bit more, socialize a bit with other customers and the guy/girl behind the counter. Instead of staring at your screen looking for fr33 st00f plx. It's a lot better to have a physical thing, with a booklet, the disc itself. It also feels better if you've paid for it (for me atleast). I have got no problem with people like Assasin or Indy by the way. It's the ones acting cool and being oh so proud that they've downloaded 100.000 songs but never bought a cd. I can't stand that attitude.

This annoys me about my friend, I can't stand him sometimes
How2PK replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in Off-Topic
haha, I used to be like that about 14 years ago. :P There was this kid that nobody liked, but he had a super nintendo, so I went to see him once or twice a week to play the darn thing. :P His mum hugged me because she thought I was such a 'good friend'. But when he didn't look I laughed at him. Damn, I was such an [wagon]. Only seven years old though, so I will be forgiven. -
How can people be so stink!? My car got keyed :(

I wonder why people do this. Give other people those expenses. It's so useless. And they don't know what they're doing either. There are people who can't afford to get these things financially. Our neighbourhood is being terrorized as well these days. There's three TWELVE YEAR OLDS stabbing people with scissors and going out to rob people at night. A friend of mine got robbed by some random guy when she was working in her shop. And two weeks ago in one week time they threw two bricks trough the windows at our house. One brick on monday. And three days later, when the window was repared, they threw one trough again. -
The first movie really was something new. One location, a bad [wagon] vilain, and a hero that could really be hurt and that was human. They dazed off a bit at the second one, took a completely different angle at the third movie which was such a succes mainly because of the combination Willis/Jackson, and the fourth one. Well, yea, it doesn't have the one-liners, and sure it's less rough. But I had a good time seeing it. Don't really see what everybody is complaining about.
