  1. Black salamander exclusively for me at barrows, switching attack styles as needed.
  2. Or why you plant snapdragon (which is a flower) in a herb patch and rosemary (which is a herb) in a flower patch.
  3. I hope not. You were obviously acting like a tool, and if unmuted would continue to do so.
  4. Try using regedit to (backup and then) delete the following keys if they are in your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\system HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
  5. If you're fighting something and you get logged out, you stay logged in until such time as your character does nothing for 1 minute. This can be because: a) you won your fight and your character is now standing around doing nothing, B) you lost your fight and your character is now standing around lumbridge doing nothing, or, c) you got teleported somewhere by a random and your character is standing around doing nothing. If you are somewhere with a lot of aggressive monsters you stand a very good chance of simply being fought until you die.
  6. Exactly, you can't "bind a virus" to a .txt file because ascii text files are not executable in any way shape or form. Not really because [Caution: Executable File] files are binary files and a .txt is ascii. Rename it to a .js or .vbs and you will be able to run code, however you're not binding a virus to the file, merely expecting the user to run your code.
  7. I wasn't aware that the OP purchased a new computer from a major retailer, In fact I'm certain he said he picked up an old one from a garage sale. And the last time I checked, new computers do come with operating software either on a separate partition or on removable media.
  8. A new optical mouse won't set you back very much money but if you'd rather spend your cash on something else there's bound to be life left in old rolly for a little while yet. Sounds like dirty rollers, as you move the mouse around your desk / mouse mat, tiny bits of dirt get picked up on the ball and transferred to the rollers, where they accumulate and make the mouse move unevenly. Take the ball out, and you should see two rollers. If they're dirty they'll have a big buildup of gunk usually centred around the middle of the roller. Pick it off with anything you like (I've used tweezers, fingernails, screwdrivers etc) then give it a bit of a wipe over with a damp cloth or similar, re-ball your mouse and you're set to go.
  9. If it didn't come with the operating system disks then you don't have a valid windows licence. You'll either need to buy a copy of windows XP, or download a Linux distro.
  10. What a load of rot. People won't become members if they don't get regular F2P updates? Stop snorting the kitty litter.
  11. Is what's known as a "backronym" an acronym that is made up to suit an existing word... Like (MOD EDIT: Removed, please keep examples G rated for the forums. - Jake Corsair). Quite simply by posting in an otherwise unloved thread you are "bumping" it back up to the top of the forum.
  12. If you see me online give me a yell and I'll grab you a salamander and tar for naught.
  13. Just go, levelling up your skills and making money are much easier in members worlds regardless of your level.
  14. That F2P makes a minimal amount from advertising does not in any way imply that you have "paid". Probably not... that you did switch to members would indicate otherwise. After two months they are no longer accurately described as "potential members" but "active leeches". I was asking on what grounds you felt that having fewer f2p leeches and a higher conversion rate to members could possibly "ruin" the game. Something you've yet to expand on.
  15. It means that your friends leeched as much as possible out of the game without paying before even considering handing over a measly five bucks. So for a considerable amount of time Jagex (and the people who pay for members) subsidised your enjoyment. If you'd known that you only had 2 months in which to decide you liked the game enough to pay you would have signed up for members within two months instead of after a couple of years. Cutting down the time taken to convert free players to paying players is definitely smarter, if it also has the unintended consequence of sifting long-term leeches out of the system then doubly so. On what grounds?
  16. You probably need to hang out with a better class of person.
  17. Which is exactly why I went out of my way to include the phrase "for significant smelting runs" in my post. No, it's not efficient use of your time to go to neitznot to smelt five ores. It is efficient use of your time to go to neitznot to smelt five thousand ores.
  18. Unlikely... if anything I think Jagex would be smarter to have a two-month limit on F2P. If you don't switch over to members after two months you're unlikely to ever do it.
  19. Doesn't take an economist to realise that your argument is entirely specious (that's a fancy way of saying bollocks). For starters, there is a never-ending stream of new players coming into the game. Jagex doesn't need to keep existing F2P players interested in the game in the vain hope that they will one day blow the dust off their wallet. So while some F2P members might do everything they can do then leave, many more newbies are lining up to take their place.
  20. More bratty than "Hey Jagex, thanks for the free game and all, but MORE FREE STUFF!!!" ? I think not.
  21. It's in your post directly above mine. If you were attempting to quote someone else, you failed.
