  1. Eastern lands - if we assume Eastern lands to be loosely based on the feudal orient in the way that the Fremenik lands are loosely based on the Viking tradition - and ranging brings to mind shuriken, but that would really not be a lot different to the way knives are used at the moment. Possibly the chakram but we already have thrown rings. And anyone wielding shuriken or chakram would not really be an "archer". The Mongols were especially feared mounted archers. But that would require the introduction of horses to the game which I think Jagex has categorically ruled out.
  2. The article is poorly written and just barely manages to get it's inherently flawed premise across. Runescape is a game with a 13+ age level requirement. This would get it a PG rating in nearly every country that has implemented a game rating system. We do remember what PG stands for, don't we? That's right... Parental Guidance. If parents have a problem with the content of the game, it's up to the parent to either restrict or guide their child's experience with the game. It's hardly Jagex's responsibility to play substitute parent because real parents are too lazy to fulfil their responsibilities and see the internet as some sort of babysitter. As for the repeated inferences that Runescape is a children's game. I'd disagree totally. The protagonists are all portrayed as adults, the vast majority of NPCs are adults. Children in Runescape are only ever presented as incidental characters. Nor are there any overtly childlike themes present in Runescape. The fact that alcohol consumption and gambling are presented in the game is a non-issue. In nearly all of the areas where Runescape is played (The UK, The USA, Canada, Australia, Continental Europe etc...) gambling and alcohol consumption are legal activities. How does it harm a 13 year old to learn that adults drink beer and place bets in a game any more or less than it does to see them do it all the time in real life? Again, if anyone has a problem with their children being exposed to such concepts, it's up to them as parents to monitor their activities.
  3. 1) Yes 2) Yes 3) I use mine for barrows... the only weapon I take.
  4. If only that option existed darkblob... if only. Meh, someone told me that they had reported me for being invisible yesterday... I just said "that's nice" and went about my firemaking... If you've done nothing wrong, you have no need to worry. Certainly don't give anyone else cause to legitimately report you by flying off the handle.
  5. bad profit, only about max of 100k. ~~~Gudi~~~ Not true at all. If you only alched the gem jewellery you would receive at least 1k per cast, minus whatever was paid for the nats at 500 casts is around 300k - 350k profit.
  6. I was about your level when I did it... like any combat related quest, lots of food and lots of pray pots.
  7. You probably already have one in your bank... just withdraw any that you have (noted), go down to the duke, drop the noted shields and talk to him. Repeat as many times as you like, dropping shields and talking to the duke. Pick them all up, bank them, re-note them if you like and go again.
  8. I don't have a great deal of experience with the bandit store. I believe it does, but it's still prone to the same effects of overstocking as any other store - when they have items in stock, the price they are willing to give you for more of the same is lower than when they don't have any of those items in stock... so trying to offload 100 noted tiaras would very soon see the price per tiara come down to almost nothing.
  9. veni vidi vici also means "they came, they saw, they conquered", "you came, you saw, you conquered" or "it came, it saw, it conquered"... as you pointed out... the subject is inferred, meaning it does not form part of the literal translation.
  10. Caesar's words were "Veni, vidi, vici"... literally translates to "Came, saw, conquered"... but is usually taken to mean "I came, I saw, I conquered." "Vino vidi vinci" could be "I came and conquered the wine" I suppose :D
  11. I find baiting anything other than deadfall traps to be a complete waste of time... only for the fact that you can only have one deadfall trap set up at any one time.
  12. I'd say raise farming and herblore in conjunction, that should pad out the total level nicely in a short amount of time.
  13. I realize that but im just goin off what the db is tellin me. I also didn't think there was a specialty store but accordin to the db there is so i don't know who to believe... The high alch value is what a speciality shop will pay for an item, not the price it sells the item for. Your best bet will be to simply drop the tiaras, it's not going to be worth your while selling them to the general store, you will only be taking time out of your crafting for a very meagre return.
  14. You were told to eff off with this once before, I'd be surprised if you weren't told again.
  15. Verac Smith Dharok Jones Ahrim Edwards Torag Howard Karil O'Donnell Guthan Davis
  16. To be perfectly clear, you should have equipped only what is specified in the clue scroll. Take everything else off.[/i]
  17. Yes, there are a handful on Lunar Isle, in the mining area - east of the town, there is also an essence mine and some silver and gold rocks there. I still prefer shilo because there are more rocks, waiting for the lunar isle ones to respawn is a major pain. Other good sources for gems are the safes in under the Burthorpe pub and the ham jewellery chests (for which you need to do Death to the Dorgeshun)
  18. Errr... you go kill a whole bunch of em.
  19. Aberrant specters for herbs and herb seeds.
  20. Neitiznot and Port Phasmatys furnaces are pretty much equidistant from their respective banks however: a) the door on the Port Phasmatys furnace occasionally shuts, leaving you to open it again before you can get to the bank or furnace, and, B) the Neitiznot bank is a one-click chest as opposed to the regular bank in Port Phasmatys which you need to wear a ghostspeak amulet to use without an annoying third screen. I haven't paced it out, so I'll concede that Port Phasmatys may be marginally closer to the bank, but for convenience Neitiznot is the better of the two.
  21. Bones, they're left lying around all over the place.
  22. I have to collect a few inventory loads later today so I might just give it a shot and see how it pans out.
  23. Do you save any time given that you'd be running one way to get to the bank at Canifis, and then the other to get back to mort myre?
  24. By playing the game.... Strange concept I know. I really should invest more time into gathering third-hand unsubstantiated anecdotes to really round off my knowledge. Because the range bonus of the salamander isn't as high as other ranged weapons.... But if you bothered to check things out for yourself instead, you'd already know that by now.
  25. Have a Canifis teleport and an altar in your house. Then use the following method: Tele to house, Recharge prayer points, Tele to Canifis, Run to Mort Myre Swamp, Fill up on fungus, Duelling Ring teleport to CastleWars bank, Repeat for as much as you need.
