  1. 1. Opeth 2. Agalloch 3. Neurosis 4. Blind Guardian 5. Nine Inch Nails 6. Strapping Young Lad 7. Katatonia 8. Porcupine tree 9. Pain of Salvation 10. Dream theater This will probably end up chagning again really soon...
  2. Now: Opeth - Blackwater Park (album) Before: Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral (album) Before that: Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain (album) All three are freaking incredible, of course.
  3. It's hard recommending things to you, lol, but perhaps try ?
  4. Currently on Track five: Not Unlike The Waves This album is freaking incredible.
  5. Intriguing, check out Neurosis. I got their album The Eye of Every Storm, and it is just incredible post-metal, and I never listened to any other post-metal before it.
  6. Holy crap, this album is just incredible... I have to get more stuff by these guys.
  7. I thought it was pretty mediocre and very predictable/cheesy. Still better than most of the other stuff I've seen this year (aside from the Dark Knight).
  8. I quite liked the sufferer and the witness, but this just sounds like an inferior version of it. They need to try something new. I still enjoyed the album though.
  9. Death - Symbolic (album) I've been meaning to try listening to Death for a while, but this is sorta...bad. What would be a better album with which to start?
  10. I used to listen to them a lot, but I haven't listened to them since the suckfest that was Underclass Hero.I don't remember them being that bad, though, but I've always had a bit of a soft side for good pop-punk.
  11. I thought that it was incredibly boring, even more so than eldest.
  12. Sigur Ros - ( ) [album] I think that SilverSword recommended these guys, I really enjoy them. I've been meaning to listen to them for a while. What album should I start with?
  13. Heh, probably one of my favourite songs from them. A lot of it because LaBrie's voice actually works well in it. I just think that it's way too long, and I can't stand some of the keyboard tones.
  14. These guys are my second favorite band after Opeth. Images and Words is my favorite album of theirs (even though "Learning to Live" is terrible), but I like all of their albums, even the less received ones like Octavarium or When Dream and Day Unite. They are incredibly boring live, though. I saw them on prog nation, and they just [bleep]ed their way through a 2 hour set.

    Rock Band II

The Australian release for 360 and ps3 of rock band 1 is november 7, iirc.
  16. An Endless Sporadic - Ameliorate EP (album) I like Focus, but Traced in Air is MUCH better, imo. I never really got into Atheist for some reason. Is Unquestionable Presence a good place to start?
  17. Social Distortion - Sex Love and Rock'n'Roll (album) One of my friends recommended these guys to me, I actually quite like them.

I have a 30gb video, no problems with it, and the sound quality is good enough for me to hear the bass without it being to boomy and being able to hear the drums with decent headphones.

    Rock Band II

I'm almost at that level (on rb1 x drums, I have a ps3). I've 5-starred everything except Rtth, gsed Tier 1-6 pre patch (aside from Electric Version, which am at about 160k). Only 9.88m career, but I haven't been playing career mode too much lately. My set is a perfectly working EL from launch day.
  20. Cynic If you don't mind downloading leaked albums, get Traced in Air. Focus is great as well.
  21. where is this rumored list for the 20 upcoming songs?
  22. Reverend Bizarre - III: So Long, Suckers really good, but the album is just too long... To give you an idea if you haven't listened to it, there are 8 songs over two discs and it lasts 130 minutes. Also, two of those songs take up only 7 minutes of the album... @cyco and warrior: Traced in air leaked recently, you can find it pretty easily if you want to (and aren't against it). It doesn't come out till late October though.
  23. I know they aren't, and personally, I've never heard anyone say they are, so why do people get all butthurt over it? Because of the first of the Metal commandments: Thou shallt not call any genre which contains 'core' metal. The same applies to nu-metal. So you wouldn't call grindcore metal either?
  24. Cynic - Traced in Air (album) Easily as good as Focus, if not better.
