  1. I like the big fish and the small fish. Even though I really don't like seafood. Or the ocean in general.
  2. Haha, lucky. What happened? There's a school across the road from mine that's about two or three times the size of mine. Some of their students used to ring up saying there was a bomb, and they'd laugh at us as we all ran out onto the oval. I respect them for that.
  3. Funeral is better than Neon Bible in my opinion, but that's not to say the latter isn't fantastic as well.
  4. Thanks Cheese, I'll check them out. Warrior, you should listen to Primordial if you don't already know them. Nadril recommended them to me the other day, and they are absolutely fantastic. As for albums, try To The Nameless Dead.
  5. Check out Alcest. I know you won't like Tristesse Hivernale or Le Secret, but you might like the 2007 release, Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde. Initially a Black Metal side-project by Neige of Peste Noire. They're more Shoegaze/Post-Rock with a vague Black Metal basis though. very cool, dreamy music.
  6. First: To The Nameless Dead by Primordial (2008) I think that was my fourth listen since I first heard it yesterday. Maybe third.. Either way, it's an absolutely fantastic and addictive album. Empire Falls is perfect. Second: Heaven Shall Burn... When We Are Gathered by Marduk (1996) Meh.. Third: So Wrong, It's Right by All Time Low (2007) Meh.. Some good songs, such as Holly (Would You Turn Me On?) and Dear Maria, Count Me In. Probably best Pop Punk band I've ever heard, but that's not saying a lot. Fourth: Poems for the Aching, Swords for the Infuriated by Animus (2005) Alright album as a whole. Three is the obvious stand-out on the album. One of my favourite Black Metal songs. Fifth: Le Secret by Alcest (2005) I think I prefer Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde, but this is still fantastic. If you like Black Metal and you haven't heard this album, check it out. Sixth / Now: Ys by Joanna Newsom (2006)
  7. Just finished English Paper 2. I'm actually pretty happy with it. I did Telling Stories (Henry Lawson short stories), Poetry (Wilfred Owen), and Ways of Living (SeaChange). I expect to get pretty good marks for the first two, in particular Telling Stories. The question for Ways of Living was a bit too ambiguous for my liking, but it's alright. How did everyone else go?
  8. Hooked me in the first 10 seconds. [bleep]ing amazing.
  9. Be prepared to be flamed by the metalheads of this forum. Just a warning. Hip-Hop: ...Album - Madvillainy Buck 65...Album - Situation Atmosphere...Album - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That [cabbage] Gold Electronic: M.I.A....Album - Kala ...Album - Cross Ratatat...Album - Classics But yeah. As Justin said, you might want to be more specific.
  10. The first section in particular. I've always gone really well in that section. As in, I usually beat all of the Advanced students bar maybe 1 or 2 in that section. But I didn't even try for part D of it. In addition I did a horrible job of the creative writing, but that was just my own fault. I think the essay was ok. It was mostly section 1.
  11. Was I the only person that found that exam really, really hard?
  12. But if they don't sign their posts, how are people meant to know who they are? Oh wai....
  13. If the plan is exactly what it says, I don't have a huge problem with it. I'm a fairly avid downloader of music, but I'm sure I can find another hobby. The problems that I have with it were mentioned in the first post: To censor information about drugs is a thought that really annoys me. If it gets censored, people will just continue on in ignorance about the effects of drugs. I just honestly don't see how that would help anything. I'm also assuming that they would censor things about cults or new-age religions, as many internet filters do that. That's the other thing I don't like about it. It's very true that once they have the system in place, it will be a lot easier to add new things to the censor in the future. It has a high chance of putting our government into an overly-controlling state, and I'm not the only person who really doesn't want that to happen.
  14. I only discovered this band the other day, it's fantastic though. This album is Shoegaze/Post-Rock with Black Metal influences. Neige of Peste Noire is the composer and main performer. I absolutely love it when musicians demonstrate ability to compose great music in a wide variety of genres. And track two is just.. incredible.
  15. That's exactly what I've been doing. It's weird though. I'm actually looking forward to the first exam. Just for the fact that I'll go in there, sit a two hour exam, and I'll never have to look at those texts again. Plus, creative writing is awesome.
