The florentine style uses a rapier or longsword and a dueling knife. Often the dueling knife was shaped oddly, with square indentations and holes along one edge. This allowed the attackers blade to become caught in the notch, so it may be twisted out of his hands. The whole issue of fighting with two blades is not as cut and dried as you have made out. In the hands of a particulalry skilled fighter, the dueling dagger or smallsword, was able to provide not only good defence, but allowed a more flexible and fluid defence, which gave the dueler a great advantage over a buckler or shield. The problem was maintaining the required concentration and skill level to controll both blades at once, and adaquatley defending with one hand whilst attacking with another. When you think of the defensive properties of the smallsword, they seem quite limited. However, think in terms that the attack must allso use a sword weapon. This means that a dagger is able to deflect and parray most blows. This all required a very high level of skill, which meant that most who attempted it failed miserably. When compared to shield fighting, it requires much more skill. Moreover, these were dueling weapons only, so both duelists had to have the same weapons as part of the rules of the duel. This meant that there was little fighting between shield weilders and dagger wielders. One of the places runescape falls down, I think, is in not exploring the offensive properties of the shield. The shield was often used to ram and push back an assailant, damgaging him in the process. Indeed, the romans had [bleep]es on the fornt of thier square shields, which they used offensivley to stab oncomign attackers. Giving shields like the dragon square (clearly based on the roman shields) and others an offensive bonus would be more realistic...and it would be a great bonus against pures, who wouldnt be able to wield them.

I don't give a ____ if people want to swear. It just doesnt bother me. Like-minded people could just turn of the filter when they talk to thier friends. I'm actulay developing RS paranoia over having words bleeped and the number of bans related to the censor and advertising. On P2P, so long as the recipient aquieses to it (turns the filter off), it should be alowed to swear. Perhaps this feature should be disabled for accounts of people younger than 16? I know you can lie about your age, but this voids any responsibility Jagex has under 16's hearing swearing. (And, I mean, do YOU knwo any one over the age of 10 who doesn't know all the swearwords?)

i reported it as a bug when i was doing it today. I wasn;t sure if it was or not, so I thought i would check in case I accidentaly abused it. I had done 100 materials already though before i realised. If you have 13 materilas it makes 16 glass, if you have 10, it makes 14, so you get more glass from doing only 10 at a time in the long run

If times don't comflict, you can use my house - lvl 72 con.

I've noticed many posts pointing out that anything that is powerfull, is, therefore, a menace. I agree, but I whish to redirect the argument - is America a menace to other states in that they are likley to act upon thier power in a manner that may impact adversley or unfairly on other states.

Or you could use a lyre and get you to relleka.. I said mine wasn't enchanted. I can't fish sharks so its hard to get a few raws.
