  1. Nice streak... my 1st good drop was a clue which yield'd a black cav. My luck comes and goes in spurts... had quite a few keys, i get tons of level 3 clues but only few amount to anything. I get black mystic a lot and lava staves ... but for all the metals and fire giants I've fought still wish I got a dragon drop just once. Also the kq and barrows I have no luck there.
  2. Not to shoot down your idea... but a dragon weapon you virtually have to risk heavily for and it ultimately disapears?
  3. I had 397 skeletons once - as a changeout. I'll tell you that was not so bad as it was getting to master level white knight.
  4. If you done Troll Stronghold quest you're in - I love str training by hally or ranging the Troll generals - Great xp and can get a few granite shields.
  5. Here are the last assignments I've had from Duradel - 'cept the wolves... I change out any amount of metals over 100 as the costs per reward are too great - I once did 197 iron with hopes and dreams of a d-skirt... all I got was having to work my but off replacing prayer pots and sup sets. 161 Kalphite 189 Specters 12 Black Dragons 179 Turoths 161 Black Demons 182 Specters 267 Iron Dragons 33 wolves (Yes I traded out those Iron) 182 Kalphite 26 Steel Dragons 149 Dust Devils 136 Specters 181 Black Demons
  6. Well, I'm pretty confident it's a D 2H since that's what shown on the HS page. The lair being in multi-combat wild... most likely in a safe spot as all mayhem would cut loose otherwise. I mean obviously it's a bigger creature level-wise than KBD ... probably bigger than KQ or REX too so pking in such a place would most likely lead to certain death for all. Can you imagine pking someone attacking the the thing thus everyone dies from the beast? The ground littered with shark and runes... Now then... if it really is a d 2h, would it be worth it? Among dragon weapons scimmy's rule due to speed - not hally's or baxes. Chances are a D 2h would be as useful as a d spear... high hits, slow and no shield. Ultimately it's popularity will wain and the weapon become more novelty.
  7. Yes I had to be extra carefull at the black demons on Sunday ... lured them to my hally spot one to walk out to them constantly before staying put. Some lower level oerson was there using a rune hally and had to give him shark constantly.
  8. I hated my fremmy name... originally was "Barkur" - made me feel like they were calling me a dog. I've changed it a few times now with the Charos ring. Right now I'm called "Daldor'
  9. I cut my magics and pick my flax there - always, have since morner's end part 1 came out. I actually liked that quest but for those who do not want to do it - access to that area is granted just by accepting the quest. There is a spinning wheel there ... just out of the way. I do use it though if I have a small amount to spin. I've use both the twisty turning route and the more direct route over top via the ladders - takes about the same time. Otherwise it's quicker to pick a few K there and go to Seers to spin. The flax under the spinning wheels at grendtree are not bad but there are fewer patches of them... Also might add CW is the quickest place to fletch and string since it's just a quick click on the chest.
  10. I once lost my axe head head behind Seer's bank among what seemed like hundreds of fires from people training firemaking. I remember clearly scrambling thru the ashes, being covered in soot and choking from the smoke when a young man came to my rescue and handed me a new wc axe... I declined his offer at first but when he showed me he had hundreds I graciously accepted.
  11. Yes they are - he's at giants skeletons and those who've done desert treasure know that dungeon well.
  12. Droolman, That is so funny lol. All in all, I expect it to curb some of the constant soliciting I get from people trying to buy my Cav and stuff as I walk down the road. Don't care if my black cav reduce's in price - I got it from a treasure trail. But I'm tired of the constant annoyance and name calling I get because I like to keep it... I'm at the point I rarely want to wear anything.
  13. How popular would it to be to use a weapon that disappears that is hard to replace?
  14. I totally agree, as for that matter... totally unfair to those with high melee to do what is sugested, You have two stats vs one stat to level - Why give that advantage to range and mage? I think mage should be split even further because you don't have to do much combat to get 99 mage... most people alch it or tele. Why should we get a new more powerfull attack spell for alching 3k of magic longs and making money?
  15. My guess is you outclassed him in your melee stats all the way... seeing he did not hit you. With an even up account and them using same weapon, you'd have lost. Barrows weapons in PvP situation is not good either... In PvP you want something quick, set effect does not play much as people can compensate for it. It also looks like you fought someone who don't know much about thier set if they hardly hit you they must not be on par for attack - what was thier combat level compared to yours? You are rather high. Verac and Guth are the only armour I own... The expense of course keeps me busy but the overall stats of barrows is near double to current dragon and rune armour. I only use my Barrows weapons when neccessary - I typically use a whip, dds or scimmy along with an obby shield along with my barrows... and pull out the flail or spear under special use.
  16. The special used to be max hit or nothing... Anyway, I like my whip now, the way it is it's not too overpowering and fits in well with the other weapons.
  17. Whenever i switch out slayer tasks and get skeletons I go there - for the slayer xp. Really a nice hit btw.
  18. NO! The "old" special of the whip and maul were EXACTLY the same special, just it had the bug to hit either max or zero ON HUMANS ONLY!!! AND ONLY DURING PKING AND DUELING! Pretty sad complaining about something that you have never ever even used  Daggers, whips, and scims have the exact same speed... Which is incredibly obvious if you duel a lot, as I do. It always drained energy, and it is the most-used pking weapon both now and when it first came out. THATS who complained the most, the people who trained with whips didn't see a difference, but the pkers did. If we still had the "old" special (aka the glitch), then the whip would be in the 6-10m price range today. And you have fought with someone with exact same stats... I have used this in pking, cw and dueling the three weapons do not have the same speed. Dagger is quicker and no matter how many times i've timed it still seems the whip is slightly faster than the scimmy. What Jagex post as fast vs what really is... are two different things I still think claws faster than dagger too. PS: and yes I owned a whip when the old special was there.
  19. the potions only work when the shield is equiped... some people dont know this, and i know have their arrows and stuff :P Not sure if its still this way, but used to be: Shield: Some protection Anti pot: some protection Shield + Pot: Full protection. They might have changed it though. I believe that anti-dragonfire potions these days protect 100% dragonfire for a few mintues? :? Actually not. Works just like a d fire shield and wears off when you hear the Bloyng sound... Anyway you would have to be crazy to attack a metal dragon with a hally... the risks are too great to rely on a pot. A steel can hit higher than 40 with breath and I think into the 30's with melee - been hit in the high 20's before. To use a pot without a shield is asking for trouble... I had a lvl 102 friend go do irons for slayer - she forgot her shield and she paniced and was dead before she realized it. She had just got up her prot from melee up and could not eat quick enough took 82 points damage in 2 seconds. She lost her whip there. Oh yeah also at 82cb your hits look like 0 0 15 0 0 0 0 22 against a steel.
  20. It's my main weapon, A whip is slightly quicker than a scimmy imo... seems more inbetween a scimmy and a dagger. The hits are also more like a d baxe str wise... ie. My max based on the equipment I wear and if potted and prayer is 33 with a whip or 34 with a d baxe. Controlled str actually can be a good thing - seems to hit more often and since the xp is split evenly among att str and def is a good way to train melee in general... Here's something to ponder... both mage and range are single stats - as you gain levels in those your chance to hit and your damage per hit goes up. When it comes to melee you have two stats split - att and str. You have to fight much more.
  21. It is my main melee weapon, My max hit with one potted and prayer is 33 due to my other equipment... They changed the special right after I got mine and i remember I want one because I was whipped so many times in cw - back then few took it in the wild. Anyway I think it's fine the way it is now. The whip is still the preferred weapon of the game among most melee'rs. I here people complain about controlled str and the special all the time ... but the game needs balance. To those who posted a whip being as quick as a scimmy - no it's faster and compared to a dds or ddp - as only those too weapons can compete against it given same lvl, same stat people ... the whip will win 4 out of 5 due to the str bonus. As for magic - I think it is over-powered with ancient... especially when it so easy to train - nats and bows = xp, you don't even have to pay your dues in combat to learn a dang quasi-combat skill People who melee and range take at least some risk to gain high hits.
  22. Depends on the reasoning... I like fighting dust devils and specters... I'm not crazy about andything i have to use a broad leaf or slayer staff for. Although not strict slayer monsters I like assignments which are quick or have a lot of xp ... ie. Kalphite, Shadow, Black demons, Black dragons....
  23. I was CB 86 when I did the quest and I melee'd every one of them... I used a ddp on the shadow diamond boss - no prayer at all - the hardest part was luring him to a place I could hit him and side-step. The ice diamond boss was easy - just used a sup stat restore. The other two - lol - don't even count.
  24. I'm nowhere near a good thief... mainly have done it for quests. I figure you get more money from dropds than by thieving. As for seeds... yes farmers are good for everything but I get better herb seeds doing my slayer assignments and tree seeds from chopping trees. I personally do not see thieving as a money making skill.
  25. Considering my 194qp you can assume I'm an advocate of quests... That's all the quest done btw. 1st, I like puzzles and it's certainly a lot less boring than working on xp or getting money. 2nd, As you stated they open up new areas and have rewards - which btw help you to work on getting xp and getting money quicker.
