Actually I'm not a dude, anyway the math is just to the contrary... D2h and str 99 = possible 43 damage every 4 seconds d hally and str 99 = possible 26 damage every 4 seconds whip and str 99 = possible 52 damage every 4 seconds dd and str 99 = possible 36 every 4 seconds (add in a another 36 on a spec) Don't get me wrong I love my d hally for dragons and stuff but with the playing field even the law of averages places a whip or dd above the two handed weapons due to time.

YOu're right it's been like that for ages. The only reason you're just now hearing complaints is because PKer's are the only ones who've known about it. And they never go in wildy with auto retal on. Currently there are multitudes of people going in the wildy who under normal curcumstances never would. And the pkers who know the bug exists are abusing it and taking advantage of innocent others. Just because something's been broke for awhile doesnt mean it shouldnt be fixed. I've known about this a long time, ever since lvl 15, and sadly admit i've taken advantage of it in the past. Anyway I agree it needs to be fixed as it's a fault in design... unless Jagex decides it's the rule and informs everyone that it's suppose to be that way, rather than stating the 3 item rule... it is deceptive on thier part and those who take advantage of it are just as bad. Now, many Pk'rs may argue the contrary spouting that anything should go up there but cheating is cheating all the same. If you want a wild with no rules at all I say that Jagex make it all multi-combat, let chaos mess whit every players stats there and fill it with thousands of aggressive lvl 702 monsters maging/ranging and meleeing quicker than you can strike out with your spell, arrow, dds or whip. Put danger there not only from the players but from the residents... there scrap any rules at all.

Dieing in the new monster area... (skull bug)
bflat0 replied to lit_candle's topic in General Discussion
So this still means that the monster is safe if we have auto retaliate off, right...? It has been for me so far. Though I've been PK'd fairly easily a few times despite being level 112. Most people are more interested in the chaos elemental, but occasionally you'll get hit by a gang of skulled ppl. Only lost lobbies so far. Yep... same exact situation for me now. If your auto-att is off and you right click for everything (so you don't left click one of the many ppl there) you won't be skulled. I'm in the habit of right-clicking since most things I fight are bigger than me... including the elemental. Problem in doing it that way is first good hit gets the kill so it may slow you down a little. -
More than one type of heralded trimming for each metal?
bflat0 replied to SoulAttacker's topic in General Discussion
I am also a pratical person and look first at most items usefulness but... I suppose god armour, berret's and cavs more useful? Anyway, point being is there is always the astetic value of the item as people try to be different. Are mage and range boots were, or pages, or robin hood really worth the price tickets we put on them? Nah... but then again we're playing with play money. -
LOL, you'd have beaten him with a dds or even a scimmy... a 2h is just too slow a weapon to fight another player with... unless the opponent is using a 2h or a hally also.

hohto wrote: Just get your stats up and it isn't impossible to solo. I know it for sure Ditto. I soloed it with only 80 range. I ranged it also... how far back were you because I did not try long range. From my experience it seems to unequip you then tele you like an abby. I was there with maybe a dozen people and it seemed to like to do that to me the most. I do not think it would be possible to solo at at.

Beastiary - Drop lists of Killerwatt & Chaos Elemental
bflat0 replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
It unequips you - your gear goes in your inventory if you have the space... and typically the next hit on you seems to be a tele - at least he did that to me a number of times - found myself next to it kicking it as I try ti gear up again. So far I've nothing new to the drop list seems everything I got so far has been listed already. -
Dragon legs cost more than dragon chain?!
bflat0 replied to drgnslyer_15's topic in General Discussion
Just so you know I always assumed crystal weapons top the list followed by D square and d hally and a mix of barrows items and dragon items, on downwards.... Now I never did vale the square when I had it and can see I should have as I may be wrong about crystal being on the top rung. -
People who take advantage of you, steel or lie obviously are not friends. I for one treat friends in rs as I do rl friends, and while I expect some respect I do hold myself to a higher standard and do not require the same favor... I'm not a materialistic person but view most the items in rs more as tools... value is in it's use to me. I've no problem giving things away I don't want or use to friends who need and many of my closer friends think I'm too nice sometimes. I've no problem helping people out as long as I also get time to get some things on my own agenda done...

This will be utter chaos and even seasoned pking teams of four or less will definately have to watch thier back more then they ever have. I've no doubt ceratain clans are going to rule the area in certain worlds for a bit. May even escalate into clan wars.

I'll only be around a year the end of March, I remember all I had was mith chain, a blue skirt, cape and addy long for what seemed like a long time... I used to fight the mossies in Varrock sewer with a CB lvl in the 30's all the time like that. The guys all thought I was crazy and I remember one time a guy came in with a rune 2h and a strength pot - he had 70 strength - and we thought his hits were really high. I also remember mining coal on the three rocks in the long tunel of the dwarf mines to avoid the scorpions... I did that a lot and for a long time and thought myself a good miner with level 49 skill.

Dragon legs cost more than dragon chain?!
bflat0 replied to drgnslyer_15's topic in General Discussion
Legs and skirt are always the same price... and legs and skirt are higher than chain because they afterall are plates rather than chainmail. Higher on the smithing table and as far as protection stats go... chain while not great is better against crushing attacks than any solid plate - rather strange because in reality chainmail was highly protecting against stabbing - especially arrows - while heavy plate armour more effective against blows. Hense is a game afterall so doesn't really matter. As to player prices... heck we make them as a community - supply and demand. Prices have nothing to do with how good something is. I prefer being more practical and stick with my barrows cause these things are afterall tools. As to the d-chain being in the game as a status symbol by Jagex. I don't think that's thier intent... fire cape, legend cape nd D hally are more if thier eyes a status symbol. The D-chain is just one of KQ's better drops. Player's view it as a status symbol... -
I can understand the 1st guy taking a granite in - but the cash? Especially on the lvl 94 - makes no sense. If it were me and I had names I'd give thier stuff back. LOL, I had a hard time with that quest cause I don't use guide - do all quest as is - and was not expecting a ranging mageing ghost... I managed to kill him with a dd at the time but I'd recomend people mage or range him.
-
I'll tell you I love the blood chests - would not change them - and I recently started thieving watchmen... all of a sudden thieving seems reasonable to me. I know a friend who's level 82 who can make 180k in gp and chaos runes in an hour.
-
OK... I often do give people there stuff back when they die, provided I can. Sometimes you can't. I got my 1st glory and wealth that way. I was chompy bird hunting and a guy behind me (out of my site) just on the mini-map disappeared. I walked over and thier was his stuff... had no clue who it belonged to. There are many people... and most of them low level in the wrong place at the wrong time - That I had have the chance to give them thier items back. I've died maybe a near a dozen times tops and lost my stuff and to be honest in all those times I think 3 were my fault... - I was being beligerant during a quest and had freinds around to pick up my stuff at the time. But all the rest were from loss of conection or power in a dangerous area. Also, I've even given back items after a PK... Why you may ask? Well back on F2P after I finished all the quest I had not much to do but PK. I would hang out with a few other friends and we would ambush people left and right in the wild. One time we pk'd a 12 year-old boy who's only purpose there was to get planks... sure he should not have taken his addy into the wild if he did not wish to lose it, but most kids are naive anyway, live in rs and learn... I think he learned his lesson. Point being even in the wild as for my attitude it depends, I don't pk people obviously there for some other reason... ie. clues, agility, slaying greens or rc. I don't like getting attacked when looking thru a sextant and I do not complain about those who do, but it's not my style. To me there is no sport in something you obviously are going to win.

I mostly say ardy but when I do present the proper name I say Ar-do-nay.

Exactly, I'm sure Jagex realizes that eliminating cheating is in thier best interest. Not only would they ultimately lose the honest customers but those cheating customers would eventually leave.

I always help out with food or pots if i can... if someone dies I return thier stuff. I was in Cath last night fishing and some level 82 was stoned to death by the dwarf of all things. I stood there - along with a few others - telling the guy to wake up while dozens on people stood on top of him waiting to see what he'd drop. Just a few days ago I was walking back from Shilo to Tai - to cash some cheap gems in for trading sticks - what else was I going to do with them? On the way this girl passing by me asked where I bought my dress - I was in full tribal - so I took her to the store, of course she couldn't buy so I gave her some trading sticks and took her to the guy to unlock the mini-game. Well, I should have looked at her closer cause she died right behind me instantly. A broodoo took her out with one hit... I picked up her stuff and immediately pm'd her. Turned out she was a level 17, "Thought to myself this is a dangerous place for her to be". felt bad though... So I met her in lumby, gave her stuff to her plus my tribal and 50k of cash.

I've a friend that's usually sweet as heck, anyway she had to start a new account - another long story - so I've been helping her out to level quickly... items, resources and quest help. So she asked me if I have anymore glories... I sent her to a mechant I know who was always trading me d stones etc.. for ammys. So she gets a few glories from him at a very good price since she knows me and then makes a deal with him to mine silver 500 silver for him - he wanted to work on crafting. Days go by and he does not hear from her. Finally like 4 or 5 days latter she tells him she has close to 400 ore for him - fine. Well a few days latter she's not answering his pm's or talking at all to him. Of course he asks me what's happening with her? I don't like getting in the middle but eventually ask "hey, how's the silver for .... coming?" - She told me she sold it for a better price. I think to myself "Ok, so she makes a deal and then sticks it to him? Does not seem like her, then again maybe she always has been money minded. Well also if she wanted more why did she not mention it to him? - rather than ignore the poor guy. Oh well, reflects bad on me cause she's my friend and he is too... caught in the middle. I was tempted to go out and mine the dang silver myself but that was her decision to wreck any trust between them. Now, then two weeks latter, she's farming and need seeds... I had just been thieving farmers with another friend - gave most all the seeds to that friend - so I asked this other girl to help her out. She did and gave her enough seed to take her from level 24 to level 32 farming - free. A week goes by and she's cutting yews, asked me if i wanted to buy or knew any buyers. I did not need any of them but I mention it to the girl who gave her the seeds.... So they agree on a price for 1k of yews. She cuts the yews and the girl who gave her the seeds asks for a lower price cause she saw them selling slightly cheaper. - guess what goes around comes around - So the girl who cut the yews starts complaining to me... How she'd never trust the girl who gave her the seeds again, how it's not nice to break a deal, etc.... Kept thinking to myself, How can she complain after she had done the same - even worse - to my other merchanting friend... talk about a double standard?
-
I see crafting bloods having little effect on the prices... Blood drops are plentiful from bloodvelds and other monsters and very few crafters even at blood crafting level will consider doing them in large quantities - with lower runes - such as nats - they can hire runners which in turn increases thier production. You've not seen an extremely great supply of deaths in rs now have you? I do like the idea of bloods being related to vampire Lord... Devious minds seems to be entangled with Requitment Drive and Wanted - part of that story line and sequel to the next task you have as a knight. Bloods may indeed end up as part ot the series of quest. I'd also like to point out that Mourner's End Part 2 is not the last in that series... 1st Mourner's still exist, The King of Ardy is still conspiring, elfven clans are fighting, and Prifddinas still remains inaccessible to us - the hero helping the elves of LLetya. Point being, there are probably a dozen places Jagex can come up with for the remaining alters and achieving the right to use them.

I know exactly what you mean... I fought and killed two tree spirits with a rapier last night and probably would have fought better with a butter-knife.
-
I've played the one in Seer's before on occassion. Actually I'm pretty good at it.;-) but the piano in Yanille it just say's "I was forced to take lessons as a child".

LOL, It's seems practically everything, ask any of my friends. You may not wish to know how many I get... Only ever had maybe a dozen level two and one or two level one but I have lost track at over 50 level 3 clues. Anyway.... My problem is I always have one if not on me then in the bank for the next day or two, except now for some strange reason - knock on wood. I've been at every coordinate and near every standard riddle... I hate slide puzzles but can do most in under five minutes i'd say. My problem is if a monster drops anything good for me - it's most likely a clue, I can fight 200 specters and my friends do the same... they'll have 2 or possibly 3 black mystic bottoms while I'll get a clue. Treasure trails are a pain... not that I've not got great items from them, about one out of ten yield a black cav or some trimmed or god armour... most are black d hide bodies, regular rune items and some runes or food and a magic bow of some sort. Typically, they take you away from what you are doing and eat up anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes of time. The top level three clue droppers imo are Hell Hounds (by far), Metal Dragons, Blues, Specters and other slayer monster above them - I've even got two clues from those high level skeletons in the shadow diamond lord's lair.
