You knocked out the only fun ones :(
  2. Probably Jimi Hendrix has been the guy who I have listened to consistently while growing up.
  3. Thats what you said about Vietnamn.
  4. Yay, Dial M For Murder, my favourite Hitchcock got on the top 250! And any list that puts Grindhouse (ok, i have yet to see it but, come on) over Strangers On A Train or On The Waterfrong is stupid.

The more you look at women in a purely sexual manner, the more you get into the mindset that women are objects made to fulfill your sexual desires. This leads to treating women as objects, or means to an end, which is hurtful. Your denying human nature, we all look at people in a sexual manner, it is our nature to do so. Your putting shame on that, and making it like people are turning them into objects. Why does sex turn people into objects? Suggesting that looking at others in a sexual manner leads to objectifying women, and treating them as a means to an end is a rather large assumption to make. We don't treat people like objects if we find them sexually attractive, we are admiring the beauty of nature.
  6. Whatever you want to label it then.
  7. You're all as bad as each other, i admit Deloria's posts have been self-centered and egotistical recently, but it's getting so damn boring all this arguing.
  8. Only the J is legible. So, the first name is up for grabs like Danielle Rousseau isn't called Jean-Jaques Rousseau like the philosopher. I don't think the first name has to neccessarily be consistent with the first name of the philosopher. But anyway, Jeremy Bentham a direct inspiration to J.S. Mill my favourite philosopher. I hope there is a Mill on the show :) Edit: also, Jeremy Bentham was a Utilitarian and so beleived that the only appeal on ethical questions was to decide whether it created the greatest happiness for the greatest number or not. Ben is keeping everyone on the island by lying and following Jacobs orders to lie, judging by Jack off the island and indeed Kate both seemed unhappy. Both were happier on the island so maybe Jacob Bentham is also a utilitarian who is keeping everyone on the island for the greatest happiness of the greatest number.

I sense an Adam and Eve's fall from grace argument brewing sometime down this line.
  10. Who evers funeral it was, the newspaper says J..... entham. It's a man, and they died in their New York apartment. It also says "Beam" perhaps they hung themself from a beam? Also, Jeremy Bentham was a Philosopher, so im going to guess that the dead person's last name is Bentham. To our knowledge no one on the show is called Bentham, so my guess is that the dead person is Jacob.

I don't really care too much. Just gets a little weird when I'm showering at the Gym, and since the showers have no doors it's a little uncomfortable sometimes.
  12. Most of your lessons arn;t useful at all. Oh, and Grace Kelly isn't sad!
  13. Depends what im wearing, sometimes though for comfort. I couldn't care less if it started in prisons for people to let others know there avaliable. But really, who the hell cares.
  14. Hendrix's version of Like A Rolling Stone. On a Hendrix marathon after watching the first of The Great Ages Of Rock yesterday :D
  15. Latin is a hell of a lot easier than English once you have the basic grasp of it. English is a lazy language, which makes it confusing sometimes. Theres little confusion in languages that make distinct conjugations, and with Latin being a dead language as Sumpta said it does not change. However English is made interesting by it's confusing nature :)
  16. There not reasons to take oil from a country that has very little to do with those attacks. Thats weak reason to invade the country at best. You can't take things by force anymore, can you imagine if America today decided to bomb the hell out of the oil regions and set up business? The world would be in uproar and would have extreme economic and political reparations for America.

What value for life you have.
  18. there was no FOUND link before. but now al quieda is being sent there so there IS a link now. Therefore it wasn't a reason to enter Iraq because that reason has formed later on. i never said we shoould have gone, im just stating the present situation. I wasn't refering to your post, but to Malo, who said that terrorism was the reason for the war in Iraq. Also, as much as I think America is attempting to re-build Iraq, there is a element of fighting for oil as well. In this day and age you don't walk into a country and blow it up to get the oil, there is such thing as political subtly.
  19. Your just sick, intercourse at that age is sick. animals have sex way earlier whats your point? the only thing they did bad was do it in public But animals do it for the reason they're supposed to. Not for enjoyment. Plus 5th graders can not support kids...much less themselves... So enjoyments not a reason for sex anymore?
  20. Star Spangled Banner - Jimi Hendrix preformed at Woodstock 69'. Everything about it sums up an entire decade. Is my favourite music video, although it was never released as a music video.
  21. I don't mind English. It's not the prettiest language, it's inbetween really. Latin, Italian, French and so on are all a lot easier to grasp and a lot nicer to hear, but then i don't beleive they have the complex nature that English has, and thats what makes it interesting.
  22. Why are you focusing on the begining then? I'm discussing the first texts. In the beginning, the texts of Christianity had everything I mentioned - they had all of the components of being a religion whether or not you believe it was the intention. Scientology DID NOT have any of that. The first texts of scientology were CLEARLY not a religion wheras Christianity had ALL of the parts we see in a modern day religion. Whether or not you know the intention of the author, it is clear they were formed in VERY different ways - and either you haven't read the Old Testament or you don't know much about the history of Scientology to be arguing the point you are. I suggest you fix whichever the problem is. There is HUGE difference in the beginning of the religions just based on what they offered. I'm sorry that your hatred of Christianity blinds you so much that you are comparing two things that just can't be compared. Even Warrior agreed with me on this one. I find your term, "In the beginning" rather confusing. What time period actually defines begining? Scientology was developed over 30 years by the same man. The first books of the Bible, if they were not written by Moses (which most Biblical scholars beleive), are generally accepted to have been written by different authors over long periods of time (longer than 30 years). So what do you class the "beginning" as?
  23. If you use After-sun on anywhere that burns it usually turns a nice brown as day or two after. I don't really burn much, but i have spent very long periods in incredibly hot locations and it always seems to work.
