  1. That is, can I get my gnome goggles sewn to my bomber cap? I seem to recall reading somewhere that I could, but Patchy the Pirate on Mos'le Harmless doesn't seem able to do it. [b[/b]
  2. Someone has to produce that sentence, a sentence that necessarily tells you something about that person (though it may be as false a statement about them as lipstick, shaved legs, a wig or a padded bra - which are far from being the only things that can be 'hot' and/or 'sexy'). Some people are more attracted to minds than bodies...largely a gender divide, though I certainly sit somewhere near the middle of that spectrum. On-topic, I play because it's brilliant! I played D&D when it first appeared in the UK and RS is probably the best realisation of that idea within the limits of digital processing. Granted, the graphics are crude, but it takes no space on my hard drive, generally runs smoothly and speedily, shows me everything I need to see clearly and manages to be atmospheric and entertaining at times. I can watch TV and chat online while doing some of the more mundane skills, delve into a quest if I want someone else to set a storyline for me, set my own goals from a staggering range of options to suit my every mood, challenge myself or merely meander through the pixellated crowds, amusing myself and (possibly) other people. I like the size and scope of it, the quirkiness and the flair of some of the ideas and the quirkiness and flair of some of the players - occasionally, I even enjoy watching quite how foolish some players can be. I love being able to make pretty much everything I need, if I'm prepared to put the work in and I even like the fact that buying and selling among players is a pain in the butt. To sum up, then: I play RS because it's brilliant! But I'm still going to jack it in if I don't get a @~!*ing dragon drop or a bird's egg soon!
  3. my rsn name is my msn name is my creative signature, so it turns up a whole bunch of references to me... Intriguingly, I also got some hits for a jiggeryqua who's been posting on some connected UK sites (chavscum.org and associated sites), but they appear to be broken, so I never found out who or how someone else came to be called 'jiggeryqua'.
  4. "Hey Jigger" 'Jigs' is good (though it still bugs me that most of my friends use two gs: 'jiggs'), as is 'jig' or even 'jiggery', but 'jigger'?? I usually answer with "what would make you think I'd want to be called 'jigger'?", which sorts the wheat from the chaff...
  5. I just got some steel nails, which surprised me - I guess it's more or less random, which magnetic items you get, with a much greater chance of arrows, then knives/darts and then assorted other metal items.
  6. it's random - sometimes you randomly get one, sometimes you randomly don't. I spent half a day killing guards once, months ago, and got no clues - an hour is nothing. A couple of days later I swiped a guard on my way past Varrock gate and got one I didnt want...
  7. You have the 6 o clock news at 9? Is that something to do with time zones? :P
  8. from the RS site: The rabbit, aside from leaving you with bones and raw rabbit meat, will leave behind a lucky rabbit's foot. This small and innocuous item can be strung, with level 37 Crafting and a ball of wool, to make a rabbit-foot necklace - an invaluable tool for Woodcutting masters. This reward will greatly increase your chance of receiving a bird's nest when Woodcutting.
  9. What does that mean? lol, i hear people talking about wpm's and stuff and i have no idea what it means  All questions to Help & Advice Board please  It mean 'words per minute', ie, the speed at which you type.
  10. Hmmm...I once got 3 nests in 5 minutes without the rabbit foot (unusual, I grant you), but since wearing it I've cut 6 loads of willows and one of yews and got precisely no nests at all. Tried selling some spares at Draynor - no takers - no-one believes they're worth having. :(
  11. level 3 clue - erm...quite low, I think, I don't remember the level, but I was on Entrana to cut a dramen staff from the tree for Lost City quest and since I'd taken range kit I decided to use the safe spot and range a demon while I was there - woot! lvl 3 clue! I can't remember what I got, but I've only done 4 in total and they were none of them worth the grief of repeated trips to the wildy to fight powerful wizards. dragon drop - never  million gp - quite recently - I only got interested in accumulating money lately, though I've found it easier to get my second and third millions since I decided to be rich...er :) eft half - see above
  12. last year, about this time, I was out and about IRL and saw someone wearing a santa...actually flashed through my mind, 'wow!, he's got a santa!'...
  13. I hate the wilderness - the first time I went in I knew what to expect but still ran around like a headless chicken when I got Pked. These days I only go in if I want a free teleport to Falador - and then I go in with no armour and an inventory full of tat (1 potato seed, an arrow shaft, a guam leaf, a beer glass, a sack, etc) and wait for someone to spend thousands on ancient magiks p00ning me for them...
  14. I find that all the skills are useful in some form, for a balanced game, and I find they climb quite steadily as I do short bursts of them in my various routine activities, to avoid the boredom of power training. Catherby is great for multi-tasking, and as slayer takes me round the world training combat I get to take little detours and nudge my other skills up now and again. I'm not uberwealthy (apparantly - full rune and a d long marks me out, apparantly, as 'could try harder'), but fitting crafting sessions or smithing/high alch or potion preparation into my RS habits makes me all the spending money I need and more. Currently, I'm trying to get them all to multiples of 5 lvls - I don't know why, it just seems more fun than striving for some status symbol.
  15. Did you just call me childish for maturely justifying a reason as to why he shouldn't be angry? Well, thats not immature at all.... You introduced the idea that I might 'kid' myself into believing I'd behave with more concern for those around me than you think anyone would - I riffed on that, to point out that I don't kid myself...kidding onself, as well your ego-driven position on rules you don't like and the ultimate immorality of everyone else, are childish traits - if immaturity has any meaning that it must refer to a lack of development that is otherwise commonly observed in those who have outgrown those kind of youthful observations. It's the sort of wider understanding of how society or civilisation is constructed, the purpose of the common restraints and common courtesies, that marks the shift from self-oriented adolescence into a more responsible adulthood (it might even be responsible parenthood that magnifies that difference). I'm sorry if you find it somehow offensive to have it noted that, while you compose and type with more maturity than many posters, your justification is immature, his anger is immature and your response to my post is playground name-calling. Look on the bright side - given time, and a following wind, you will develop true maturity. :)
  16. rulebreaking jagex owns your stuff (and makes the rules - if you don't like them' date=' write your own game) well, just like the pathetic justifications raised after the Falador incident, I don't kid myself (I'm not a kid, which is perhaps why I understand rules better than you) - but I wouldn't do this either.
  17. Why is everyone in such a tearing hurry? I regularly spend a minute or so collecting limps just off a well-travelled path, where apparantly a lot of ostentatiously wealthy or 'goal-oriented' types turn their noses at them. I'f I'm doing daggs for slayer or falador guards for clues i'll snap up a single coin and bury any spare bones in the time between respawns.
  18. The only ways I raise agility are genie lamps and Tears of Guthix. I'd like it higher for some of the quests I haven't done, but I can't bear all that round and round and round on the agility courses.
  19. I finally got my runecrafting and construction up high enough to get some Tears of Guthix XP on my agility :D and I got a genie (even more agility xp!)
  20. I've encountered some fine minds and some commendable attitudes on here, but essentially any...one who plays RS could also end up on here (and get unbanned in the hope they've learnt a lesson...), read this and then bug the bejaysus out of me everytime I log on? I get enough of that kind of chat in-game anyway. Fair enough. Add me. Just don't flame me on here if I ignore you in game...
  21. Genies...and whatever quests give agility xp...and, eventually, if I can drag my RC and construction XP up, Tears of Guthix. I thought fishing was boring, but having tried the Gnomes, the Wolves and the Arena I have to rate agility as the most annoying waste of clicking time in the game.
  22. On the other hand, I've just been fishing and I'll forgive them for the burning orange text, the jellybaby faces, the Idiot's Guide To Emotes, even the unhelpful combat interface, all of it, just for the brilliant new harpoon animation and the flick of your cape as you go down :D
  23. nothing new to add to the discussion, I thought - sure, some stuff has changed and most of the changes are awkward or childish, but I'd got used to those ugly new buckets from a few months back, I'll get used to these - and then I realised that the combat-style options, as well as looking clunky and pointlessly arranged, no longer tell you what each style trains :-s where's the added value in that particular 'update'? Oh, and I thought I loved the new rotating character view in 'Show Equipment Stats' - until I realised it doesn't rotate, it just wiggles from side to side, so you never get to see a rear view.
  24. Woot! A little more organisation wouldn't have gone amiss, but there were one or two moments where we actually managed single file :) We slaughtered the gnomes and the khazards! I bottled out at edgeville...and sold full steel & tyras for 5k :D never did like the wildy... Good job, everyone!
