Grease is the word!
Thanks for the comments, I am pleased that the core of the idea has been mainly accepted and I hope to build on the uses of the four greases in the next week. There are just two things I wanted to address: It isn't based off a musical exactly, I came up with the idea of using oils as an enchancement and thought it would be fun to add a few references to the popular film in the quest, as Jagex often does. Think poisoned Ogre mud pools, distressed tourists and an inquisitive adventurer; as opposed to leather jackets, high school drama and awful singing in a crazily white garage. ;) If it is a question of realism then the idea of refining oil could easily be changed. I was thinking of having a distillery much like the one in Rimmington set up in Oo'Glog, where the oil could instead be some sort of toxic sludge? I would still like to keep the idea of the refined product being grease, just so we can incorporate some cheesy Jagex humour. :P

Toy Story 3!
I'm really looking forward to this, it has been too long.

Grease is the word!
The unrefined is tradeable, but that is about it. I'm hoping that it would give lower levels a decent-ish income (similar to pure essence) but only really accessable by higher levels. And yes, all of the items used with specialised grease would become untradeable until the charges ran out.

Call of Duty: World at War
Or completely miss. Anyone with the 360 or PS3 versions of WaW, Do people camp IN the Hangar on "Hangar" all game? It depends on the game mode really, I would say more people camp in the wooden buildings are the edge of the map.

Grease is the word!
Grease is the Word! [hide=Quest reward]I havent conjured up a quest storyline as of yet, imagine Jagex style witty references to the classic musical film Grease, maybe with the name of the main character as Danny. Requirements: Completion of As a Last Resort 40 Mining 40 Smithing Reward: 5k Mining experience 2x 1k Experience Tomes 25k coins Ability to extract crude oil from various locations Ability to have Danny send 500 buckets to your bank every 24 hours[/hide] [hide=Extracting oil]This is the first step towards the long process of converting the oil into various new items. The locations of the oil wells are noted below: *The main mine from the quest is located just west of Ooglog *Outside Piscatoris, just south of the iron mine *Just north of Nardah *In the southern part of the Lumbridge swamp The oil wells are similar to the rune essence mines, in that the supply never runs out and you dont have to compete with other miners for ores. It is worth noting that to extract the oil you need a bucket in your inventory and a pair of leather gloves wielded, each bucket of oil you extract is worth 15xp. The rate at which you extract the ore is dependent on your Mining level, someone with level 40 Mining will average around five minutes for a full inventory of 28 buckets whereas as level 99 Miner will average around thirty seconds.[/hide] [hide=Refining the oil]This is the second step of the process. To refine the oil, you simply heat the buckets at any furnace, which requires 40 Smithing and earns you 15xp. The speed of the refining is similar to that of smelting any ore.[/hide] [hide=Creating specialised grease]This is arguably the most important step of the process, as it requires extremely high levels and gives reasonable experience. The grease can be converted into four specialised substances, each requiring a different secondary ingredient and subsequent level: *Herbal grease Requires level 85 Herblore and crushed star flower (obtained by using a pestle and mortar on a starflower) gains 250 Herblore experience *Dwarven grease Requires 90 Smithing and 10 adamantite slivers (obtained by using a hatchet of runite quality or higher on an adamant bar, each bar turns into 10 slivers) gains 200 Smithing experience *Enchanted grease Requires 90 Magic and a crushed cosmic rune (obtained by using a pestle and mortar on a cosmic rune) gains 150 Magic experience *Huntsmans grease Requires 85 Hunter and a black salamander (obtained by, *gasp*, catching one in the wilderness) gains 250 Hunter experience It is worth noting that all of these specialised greases are tradeable, and the mix time for a single bucket is similar to that of adding a secondary ingredient to an unfinished potion. Mix-x will be available.[/hide] [hide=Uses of Herbal grease]The herbal grease is helpful in aiding those that use potions on a regular basis, and also aids Farmers. *Potions one bucket of herbal grease will maintain the effects of up to three potions and mix three doses from each into a single vial. This could be used, for instance, to have a potion that combined the effects of a super attack, defence and strength potion. This saves you inventory space, and could also increase longevity at places such as GWD or DKs. *Super compost one bucket of herbal grease will mix with a bucket of super compost to make it last twice as long (two patches) and increase the yields by 5%[/hide] [hide=Uses of Dwarven grease]This was the foundation of my idea, and provides some basic additions to some items that make them more useful to use. Once the grease is applied, the items become untradeable until the charges have worn off. Adding the grease provides no experience. *Dwarven cannon adding the dwarven grease to the furnace increases the rotation speed of the cannon by 25%. This lasts for 120 cannonballs. *Magic short/longbow adding the grease reduces the friction of the arrow leaving the bow, thus increasing the Ranged attack damage of the ammo by 10%. This lasts for 100 arrows.[/hide] [hide=Uses of Enchanted grease]This aids those that are using Magic and other mysterious skills. *Runecrafting Tiaras One bucket of Enchanted grease will increase the experience you gain by 5%. This lasts for 100 runes. *Chaos/death/blood runes One bucket of Enchanted grease will intensify 100 runes, and increase the damage you do with them by 5%. *Law/nature/astral/cosmic One bucket of Enchanted grease will intensify 100 runes, and increase the experience you gain by 5%.[/hide] [hide=Uses of Huntsmans grease]This is probably the most versatile of the four greases, and is helpful in improving various skills at different levels. *Hatchets/pickaxes one bucket of Huntsmans grease will boost the intensity at which you cut and mine, increasing experience by 5%. This lasts for 100 ores/logs *Hammers one bucket of Huntsmans grease will boost the experience you gain when you train Construction by 5%. This lasts for the equivalent experience of 500 oak planks[/hide] These are all ideas that can be developed and changed, at the moment it is only a basic skeleton of what it could be moulded into, so suggestions and criticism are happily accepted. If you come up with an idea that is suitable enough I will put it in here and credit you accordingly.

World cup 2010!
Well I hope England get through to the finals, I think we have a relatively straight forward group so I'll look forward to seeing them in action next year. I hope Capello stays on and moulds the team into a formidable side, we need trophies dammit.

Bannable offense
This. Mentioning that you bought the account, even if it was a joke, was probably the dumbest move you could have made. Why? So we can't joke/talk freely because some others can't handle it, and have to report it? Wow..... It can easily be misconstrued as breaking the rules, it isn't even a slightly funny joke so it seems pointless to risk your account in a CC full of anonymity where anyone can report you if they so choose.

Bannable offense
This is why you don't say stupid things in public clanchats.

Summer Goals and Whatnot
I'm hoping to get as close to 95 Slayer as I can. :)

Do YOU Pirate Music?
My main reason for not pirating/torrenting is being extremely paranoid of any consequences as it is illegal as far as I am aware. I don't mind buying my own CDs as I don't get them often anyway.

** 99 Slayer/2376 Total/20M+ Summon **
10/10 of course, I'm looking forward to seeing that bank picture.

Camping
I understand how frustrating it is if a cannon takes the majority of the exp or the last hit, but honestly, if you get the kill then it is quicker Slayer exp for you and with a drop as well. We don't have much control over cannons. I was actually saying that it is stupid to refer to campers as ignorant or intentionally ruining others experiences, when Slayers often do exactly the same thing when they cannon tasks such as Dagannoths. 15 minutes for a dagannoths task with cannon... I'd gladly ruin 15 minutes of someone's life for a swift task. And many campers wouldn't care about having Slayers world hop for 15 minutes, it's swings and roundabouts like I said.

I don't see how taking potential spawns from Slayers as a camper is any worse than taking spawns from other people with a cannon, which many Slayers do. It's apples and oranges really, people will always find something to attack other players for and it is better just to set a good example and ignore the ignorant.

DK BoB
How am I wrong? When fighting something with high defense, accuracy to chip away at hp more often is better opposed to a string of 0s and a high hit here and there. Someone fighting with melee in say, Godwars, may benefit more from a warrior ring because of the slash bonus if using a whip. A staker with high defense and attack with low strength will benefit more from a warrior ring than a berserker ring. There are uses for both rings. All I said is that the berserker is worth SO much more is because everyone is obsessed with strength these days. You can't train combat anywhere anymore without being asked your strength level. (unless you're maxed melee...then the person asking you is a moron). Bandos armor is another good example. The defensive stats are below most if not all the barrows melee sets, but it's valued at so much more because of the strength bonus. A seers ring is in the 50k's, and an archers ring falls a little below 400k. Both have uses where a berserker ring would be foolish to use, but both fall WAY below it in price. It's just a game. Nice BoB, you should think about investing that 20M into something special. :)

What defines you as a runescaper
For me it is experiencing as much of the game as I can, I'm not one for sticking to extremely conventional methods and long term goals.

Here we go again. SwiftKit illegal to use
I stopped using SK because it used up a lot of space and was laggy, but wasn't the entire reason they banned SS before because you could world hop too easily and gain an advantage over others? The current SK provides no extra benefits ingame than the default RS client, that mod doesn't seem to know what he is talking about really. Jagex would be incredibly stupid and naive to ban it again. Like other people have mentioned, FF and IE are third party clients are they not?

85 Slayer
Lol, i don't give a [cabbage] about skills. But thanks. @rangeor - post a new form on my shop plx? :geek: You should use super sets at Demons though mate, hardly cost much these days and are really useful in getting faster kills. If you get a head quickly I will not be happy, however.

85 Slayer
25% of the way to 99 mate, keep it up. In before firemaking and runecrafting. :

Pictures of those TIFers! ~All NEW!~
My thoughts exactly. Sometimes I see long lists of people I have never seen. :? Like someone else mentioned above, lots of people use the CC more than the forums. If you're playing ingame and you notice a purple dot you are more likely to snipe them than a white dot aren't you?

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
I just had a pretty funny game with a ragey Irish fellow. People were stealing his kills from all over the place, it was ridiculous. I saw him run up behind this guy, knife in hand, when someone else snipes the opponents head off. I think he lost it when I threw a stun over a wall and finished off someone that was in last stand, appropriately unlocked the Humiliation challenges with that kill.

Riff's Road to Taskmaster
Here is what I did last few days: *No Slaying! Been very busy with revision *Sold Bandos chest and tassets *Bought Dharok chest and legs *Bought a cannon and 25k balls *Cannoning veld, suqah and spectre tasks from now on. *Bigger cash pile than before, and faster slayer exp possible now. Added a new section to the front of my blog too.

Slayer: Dagannoth Tasks & Bandos Armour
I have a couple more questions, if you could answer them that'd be great so I can ensure I'm not doing anything stupid with my Slaying. 1) Dagannoth tasks. I don't own a cannon and I don't intend to buy one, so I need to know which is better for killing them for pure melee: under the Lighthouse or CT. Obviously the argument is whether the CT provide enough drops to cover the cost of potions, and is it true that the Dagannoths in the CT drop more charms? That could be an important deciding factor. 2) I'm currently using Bandos chest and tassets for most of my tasks, but I was wondering if they are worth the money. I have an 11M cashpile to use for things like potions and food, but I currently have enough pouches and scrolls for familiars so that isn't an issue currently. Dharok's Platebody and Torag's Platelegs combined cost just under 700k, so I would be looking at a further ~25M to add to my cashpile in case I needed it. I get extra defence with Barrows armour, and the extra money could be spent on a Berserker ring? That is one more point actually, is the RoW worth using over other rings such as a Zerker?

Skull and Cowboy's Pixel Shop >Not taking requests<
Grammar. ;) I'm guessing you've already discarded my idea, but I just wanted to let you know someone else did me an avatar I am happy with so don't trouble yourself with doing my request. :)
