  1. I've never 'quit' the game in the 8 years I've played, I have taken long breaks though, one being almost two and a half years. I take breaks from the game when I get bored of playing it or my interest is taken by something else. Sure the SoF made me angry, but it's no reason to quit and I didn't take a break directly because of it. Although I have just come back from another month-or-so break :P
  2. I applaud them for making a game that has kept me, well... On-and-off hooked for almost 8 years. I don't respect them though, too many things they have said and gone back on. I can't respect what I don't trust
  3. There are a few things that I would try and prevent happening, things like putting the game in front of school/college work, but at the end of the day it has done no real harm, although sometimes I did play it a bit too excessively and missed out on social things because of it but I think that's all part of growing up and when your a teenager there are so many emotions, problems and confidence issues going through your head that sometimes the easier thing is to just sit and play a game. Now I'm 20 and have matured a lot I guess that I now make the 'correct' decisions, I only play when there is nothing 'better' to do and it doesn't take any sort of control over my life. So in answer to the actual question I don't feel like it's time wasted, like others have said it would probably just have been spent doing something else.
  4. Flowers for all the fallen 'scapers eh? I remember that yeah, I was actually online at the time and got told about it so I hopped worlds quickly after banking all my stuff, saw a lot of crowds but not durial321 himself. Was crazy, and a great coincidence with the day it was on I guess :) That sort of period, just before construction, were my best times on RuneScape too, pre-100 combat
  5. This, it is sometimes incredibly easy to recover an account with just a few known details about the account/person. This has happened to me before and it's why all my recovery questions are now completely random and untrue. Jagex are very flimsy on this issue, not taking enough care.
  6. Farming, Fishing, Herblore and Crafting are the only ones I see out of your list that have seen decent updates, but they are still not innovative ideas, mostly just higher level items to gather or easier/more AFKable ways to train. I just think skilling in general is in need of a re-work or some new, creative ideas before combat personally. Most people get to certain skill levels just to make their stats look decent, not for any other gain or enjoyment. Mining & Smithing - Untradeable armour you can only make yourself with special abilities - Gives people something to look forward to and thrive for in the skills Fishing - Sooo many minigames could be made for this skill that could be fun and team-based Woodcutting - use it along with fletching/construction for useful untradeable tools/devices There's loads of possibilities for the skills we currently have to get us looking forward to things in skills, they did REALLY well with Herblore/Farming with the Overloads and Herblore Habitat updates, more of these kind of updates please :)
  7. I'm not bothered that it's been a long time since the last skill, what I am bothered about is that they don't even seem to have come up with a proper concept for a new skill, yet still took all this time to "improve" all the skills which were seriously out-dated. Runecrafting probably being the only one to see an actual improvement over the last couple of years and Combat in my view seeing too many too fast, so what do we get this year? A combat re-work. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a bad thing, combat in it's current system is at it's end, it can't go any further without something drastic being done, which gladly is. BUT, we've seen barely any improvements for our existing skills that serve real purpose. Is it really that hard to come up with a few ideas to make certain skills more worthwhile and rewarding again?
  8. There was a long period of time between the dragon chainbody and platebody, plus Jagex saying "It's not going to be released" doesn't mean it won't be. They said there would be no more dragon items and released a 'Dragon Plate', as in a spinning plate you could buy from Diango in Draynor Village as an April Fools joke and soon after announced it would never be coming. Also, I too will forever remember muggi as a the fight caves guy, guide helped me get my first few capes :)
  9. Being a member here since 2005 I feel pretty dumb asking this question but I really can't find it. I think it's under the drop-down menu where it says 'Signed in as ____ ' at the top left but when i hover over it it doesn't drop down and when i click on it it goes straight to my profile and I can't find any links on that page to my account settings. :/
  10. 25,667 Loool. I waste a lot of time :) EDIT: Then again, when I first started playing that was a good EXP rate/hr.
  11. My stats are: 98 Attack 99 Strength 83 Defence 99 Hp 99 Ranged 99 Magic 95 Prayer Looking for a small-medium sized active PK'ing and PVM clan, like to think I'm a decent hybrid ;) Only looking for frequently active clans, cheers. Reply here or PM me on Tip.it :)
  12. 3) Dragon Defender every time 4) Stab 5) That's a great idea. Never thought of doing that.
  13. It's such a blur... 2005 :l I'm not sure if this was the first day but my first memory was meeting my friend in taverly because he offered to show me around, he took me through white wolf mountain then wielded the dragon longsword, which was the first time I had ever seen one and did a special attack that did 16 damage. I was amazed by it so did lost city immediately, then fletched 1-55 or so in the gnome stronghold which I loved as a new member, such an exciting place. I also trained agility up to about 30 because I didn't enjoy it as much as fletching. Ahh :) If only i could wipe my memory and go through all that again. Not sure it would be quite the same nowadays though :(
  14. Still, he nominated himself as an influential/iconic player before anyone else did, plus after he did so people were asking who he was because they didn't recognise him. He may of done a lot for the game, but not compared to the others listed, otherwise people would of asked questions about their names.
  15. No, Elucin8er is 100% right here and you've just proved so by coming back with no argument whatsoever. THAT is how it is/was PK'ing, he knows what he's talking about because he took part in it, your view on the whole situation suggests you might of died a few times and got upset so now hate the wilderness and refuse to communicate properly with anyone who has a different opinion. Of course we can't change the way people act in the wilderness, but we can talk about how honor in the wilderness has degraded as much as we want, just like you could talk about how botting is ruining profitable skills all you like. Don't be so dismissive just because you despise the wilderness, or just stay away from topics like these.
  16. Haha, you are so damn predictable (and full of yourself) it starts to get funny. If you did it, it's not bragging. Bragging isn't lying. It's to talk about something with excessive self-pride, so he is bragging; and being arrogant. Of course plenty of people have heard of him, such as myself, but that doesn't mean he is an influential player. The fact he believes he 'proved' to people that pure's were still viable PK'ers after the release of RS2 is also ridiculous. People have brains and worked this out on their own. The one thing he can be mentioned as an influential player for is the fact he was the first, or at least one of the first, to reach the 'maxed pure' status, but his previous boasts of arrogance demote him, he reminds me of people who give to charity and then tell everyone about it. It's kind of ironic and devaluing.
  17. I'm going to reply to the OP with an Image. [hide=Swearing] [/hide] As you can probably tell by the penance horn in my inventory and the fact I'm wearing no armour I was going to train Agility and didn't seem much of a threat / worth killing. However two Level 138 players in maxed out gear with pak yaks decided they needed to Barrage me to death, insult my nan?? and call me the above. Runescape 2k11. P.S. the Dragon Claws were in case someone at the agility arena got bored and decided to try and kill me (happens a lot)
  18. If this loyalty program is what we are thinking it could be I'll place a bet that by mid 2012 the RuneScape community will consist of 75% bots, 15% farmville/habbo converters and 5% legit players who are in denial that the game is ruined.
  19. This has happened to me as well but I didn't catch what name I changed to, definitely wasn't mine though it had loads of numbers in it :P
  20. They're not influential, they're just pkers/stakers. To answer your question, yes actually, I am, I honestly don't see why not. That's why not. You just contradicted yourself, you were also just a PK'er, but less known than the ones I've mentioned.
  21. This really doesn't sound like a master quest at all. :( However I'll probably do it pretty soon as it means a Fishing level for me.
  22. You're really voting yourself as being iconic and influential? :/ H A 12 D and more recently Win All Day should have mentions for staking imo. Oh and I recognise all the names you mentioned in your P.S. PK'ers - Death Treath, Hiei The Pk, Maggotleader, 8 Stealth 8, Dutch Leader.
