LimeWire sued by the RIAA
They don't come to your door in civil actions. You'll be sent a summons within a very short time of the hearing (week or so, RIAA are notorious for hiding that they are gathering info for a suit).

Funniest Way You Have Broken A Bone??
I'm another fortunate one to have never broken any bokes, but I have two stories - one of stupidity and one of mystery. Stupidity: I once tore a ligament in my knee whilst I was crouching to straighten a rug. I limped and wore a support for 6-8 months. Mystery: I managed to damage/dislodge a bit of cartilage just below my sternum, I have no idea how, or if that was the precise problem. However, this caused my chest to audibly and painfully click whenever my heart beat when I was lying down. This was incredibly annoying, what's more other people could hear it too. It also meant that I couldn't breathe deeply. It fixed itself in a couple of months.

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
I agree that they would likely still do it and the fact that it is legal is only a mere convenience to them, but I still don't think that puts anyone in a place to condemn them for doing it if it is legal as we can't be certain what's going on inside their heads.

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
Almost certainly not going to happen, look at the outcome of the Grokster case. If it's not against the law in your country then you won't get sued by the RIAA, nor would they have the power to sue you. Are you suggesting they should feel guilty for doing something that is completely legal where they live? If someone stands accused of breaking the law when they aren't, what do you expect them to do besides pull out the law argument? I was allowed to buy alcohol aged 18 here, does that mean I should feel guilty because some american (not talking about you, anyway I assume you're Canadian) came over here and accused me of hiding behind the law? Or how about the example of someone from Amsterdam smoking marijuana in a coffee shop? They are liberties granted to the person by their country's legislature. It isn't as though the people who are claiming it's legal where they are are coming over to america and trying to hide behind their country's laws there. I submit that they are just doing something that is evidently not considered wrong by their government and so have no reason to feel guilty about it. Anyway, if you're from Canada, I thought it was declared that downloading music wasn't illegal there? NB: I must stress that this post is centred around downloading, the act of uploading is different altogether and is illegal almost everywhere.

Short Hair on Girls
You do realise that that's a ludicrous conclusion to jump to by ignoring the fact that we are insulting style choices and not medical side-effects? By that rationale the boys and long hair topic is making fun of Sikhs.

Short Hair on Girls
Nuh-uh - I just googled for that and was not pleased with what I found... No thanks.

Yeah downloading music makes you cool, it is certainly something to boast about and we should all admire you

I'm afraid to say that being ignorant to the law doesn't mean you aren't held to it.

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
They can't prove anything. This is also the case with the current lawsuits - people are actually starting to stand up for themselves and saying that an IP address does not equal a person, the RIAA is then promptly dropping the cases to avoid further embarrassment & legal costs. This is also why the RIAA is seeking to have gagging orders placed on all their cases - so other victims can't find out that they can prove themselves to be innocent and the RIAA's bullying can continue. Basically the RIAA suing individuals is a bluff. They never want the case to go to court, they only want to pressurise the individual into coughing up a settlement. When people call the RIAA's bluff they back down. No, you won't. Another thing that is ridiculous is the so-called value of tracks that people download, they claim that people have tens of thousands of dollars worth of music on their computers and that they are causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to the music industry but this just isn't so. The mistake (deliberate or otherwise) that they are making is that they are counting every downloaded track as a lost sale, whereas in actuality in the majority of cases if the person weren't able to obtain the track for free then they wouldn't have bothered buying it.

That's a girl? :-X

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
I've never quite understood why people would happily pirate music but then feel the urge to pay for a program to do it. As much as I hate the RIAA, that just isn't true. They have barely filed 20,000 lawsuits and certainly have not caused 20,000 to go to community college. Do feel free to try and prove to the contrary.

Physicals.
Yes, that much was clear after your previous post. It is possible that they could be checking you just because they want to make sure you are healthy - for your own good. However, I don't know how things work over there. From what I hear you get them a lot more often than us.

Short Hair on Girls
To me, you don't have short hair. Short hair on a girl means less than 6" or so in my book. As for girls with hair that fits my definition of short, I generally don't like it. There can be exceptions though, it is possible to have a short, feminine haircut. However there is also a length beyond which all styles seem masculine to me.

Physicals.
Well you asked what they can be for and I told you one of the things they are used for. Companies have to have liability insurance for employees/people on their premises. Their insurance will not cover people in certain medical states - for example if a person had a very infectious disease, or was on the brink of death. Therefore they have to check people's health before employing them.

Some of you had better be careful or else you'll get this topic locked.

Physicals.
It depends who you are taking it for. They are often to make sure you are covered under a company's insurance policy.

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
I wouldn't put it past them. In the US they have been suggesting teenagers drop out of college in order to pay settlements.

LimeWire sued by the RIAA
Just downloading stuff and just sharing stuff with no money involved is still just a civil wrong and what I said earlier applies - you can't get arrested but you can get sued. If you are a minor then they will try and sue you, failing that they will sue your parents. It not being a crime does not make it okay.

BT won't be shut down as it isn't as simple as any of the ones they have gone for - it is hundreds of people sharing tiny pieces of each file, much harder to track IP addresses too. 3 days :P ... Not that I visit that site. Copyright infringement isn't a crime, it is a civil wrong. That means responsibility lies upon the victim to pursue justice. This is why the RIAA sues helpless people, children and dead people instead of getting the police to arrest them. It is a crime, however, when people are selling copyrighted works without permission. Here's a list of good awkward questions for the RIAA: http://www.eff.org/IP/faq/ Whilst this particular action is not condemnable, their other actions are akin to a parent standing up for their child who is being bullied by kicking the teeth out of the other 5 year old with a steel toe-capped boot. It too is bullying, as are the RIAA's actions.

Themes that are meant to look like something are almost invariably hard to use and ugly to boot.

HDD?
How about everything more than asking for a simple definition? Such as seeking opinions, asking complex questions, trying to solve difficult problems, etc.

Long Hair on Boys.
I agree with this. To me what Mr_Putter has described is a trend that has grown alongside the 'Kerrang generation' - the young kids who wear a Slipknot hoodie and do not have a single album. The young kids with the generic 'black shirt with flames'. I call myself entitled to long hair as I'm a student. I can't be bothered to get my hair cut and not doing so saves money which means more meals for me. It has gone 2 years without cutting now and it's probably about 12" long. I call it stupid when someone (male) under 16 is walking around with long hair (I mean shoulder length or more and no, I haven't just turned 16).

Do any men here love..shopping?
Spot on, though it's even better if you are shopping for yourself but spending someone else's money.
