  1. To those who enquired about the credit system where I am: You need 120 credits to get to the next year each time. Normally this is by taking 6* 10 credit modules each semester, but as you see I have 1* 40 credit module this year. I am not surprised it is different from where you are GSW, I am only several thousand miles away.
  2. First semester: Advanced Network Topologies (10 credits) Internet Security (10 credits) +2 modules which I haven't chosen yet (20 credits) Project (40 credits over 2 semesters) Second semester: .NET Services (10 credits) Global Network Architecture (10 credits) Realtime Networking (10 credits) XML Development (10 credits) 'Networking for the win'. The options I have for modules in the first semester look awful and boring and it will be a case of choosing which I dislike least. "I'll take some apple pie without the crust" - Nick Mason on the 'making of' Dark Side of the Moon video?

There were two Duke Nukem games prior to that, creatively named Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem 2.
  4. The same goes for me. I think Clarkson put it well on his talk show when he pointed out that we're one of the countries that gives the most and takes the least.
  5. Interesting how americans seem to start in August, nowhere in England starts before September. I'm starting the final year of this degree around the 25th of September. I've been off since the 8th of June. 3 and a half month holidays 'for the win'.
  6. Not even speed that is above normal, just priority over others. Basically they'd be charging for not downgrading the speed:roll:
  7. No one mentioned this was relating to playing RS.
  8. I haven't worked out how to put the trousers on yet.
  9. It was in a tabloid paper so the 'facts' must be taken with a pinch of salt.
  10. Exactly. The media loves to sensationalise.

Very, very easy. If you've got the original games then I think you can run them through an interpreter called ScummVM, which has the benefit of being multiplatform.
  12. I'm not starting a clone of this post just because it's a few days behind. Here's something I don't think anyone else will have: My own mannequin. His name is Mannequin Skywalker.

I remember Gordon Burns using it on Gamesmaster.

I started (and completed) it again yesterday. It's very very short, but great. I've just started Monkey Island 1 again now.

    My favourite classic:
  16. On the subject of forum status it seems I'm getting the could not connect to the DB error regularly each night at times between 22:30 and 00:00 GMT+1. I was told this was due to updates but every night?
  17. Perhaps they were trying to be nice. Like people saying "you look gorgeous" to a girl with severe facial burns. I'm not saying you will have looked awful or anything, just that if YOU think you did then they might have too and were only trying to restore your self esteem.
  18. Well he certainly should be.
  19. When I did it a while ago it said I looked like a whole load of people, Keifer Sutherland, David Boreanaz and... Katie Holmes. I look nothing like any of them. Mercifull you don't need to do it - you already know what presenter you look like :P
  20. The "we pay for it so they have no right to hide it" argument just doesn't work. If they didn't hide their latest technology then their enemies could see it, work out what it is, how it works and then be better equipped to defend against it. For that reason some military things need to be kept secret.
  21. Point out where he denies the existence of other life forms. Struggling? That's because he didn't. He just denied that anyone has evidence of extra-terrestrial beings or craft here on earth. Not once does he affirm that they don't exist anywhere in the universe.
  22. How about the videos of it happening, how about the photos of it happening, how about the news broadcasts saying it happened, how about the people who went there saying it happened.

So that would explain why all the reporters here in the UK speak with an american accent...
  24. I very much believe in not being able to do whatever you want, and I will still call it freedom - however not everyone else does and so it is arrogant for someone like Bush to imply that his version freedom is the only acceptable one. Many of the people in the countries we might not consider free are perfectly happy with how they live and would have it no different. I'm saying Mr. Bush isn't the world authority on what does and doesn't amount to freedom. As you said there is no universal definition and that is what is important when he accuses others of trying to destroy freedom.
