Most ridiculous infomercial product?
No, that is why I chose my words carefully. I don't hate those for a good cause such as for charities, ones which are promoting road safety or giving useful information, just the ones which are trying to get you line the pockets of someone else because those are the ones which are trying to subject your opinion.

Toothpaste...
Too much vitamin C causes diarrhoea, we'd better stop eating oranges. Now there's a good reason to stop ingesting it. Oh wait, then you'll get scurvy - just as not taking enough calcium will cause osteoporosis. If a vegan used that as an argument against milk then they're an idiot. I hope whoever it was condemned breastfeeding - or perhaps that somehow escapes their scrutiny.

Most ridiculous infomercial product?
That spinning hairbrush, I'm sure there's a variant for every single country. As for 'infomercials' - that's almost as much of a euphemism as 'safety cameras'. Trying to disguise something no one likes by making it sound as if it is done with their interests in mind. I've stopped calling 'ad breaks' or 'breaks' in programmes those names because they imply that they are welcome. A break is a bit of relief. Because of how pedantic I am I now called them 'advert penances' or 'advert interruptions'. I hate all forms of advertising for financial gain. I think products should stand on their own merits - if something is good then it will spread by word of mouth. What I particularly hate now is all the small print that flashes on the screen whilst the voiceover is talking. Another thing I dislike is how adverts are deceptive; for example using only prerendered/cutscene footage in a game advert - though fortunately the standards authorities are twigging about this (COD: Big Red 1 advert banned by the ASA). Yes, I receive the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) weekly adjudications newsletter.

I'll bet his teeth are a lovely shade of brown though.

Biking - Any tips or tricks?
I can't tell you in USD because I've never bought a bike in the US. I'm not really that good for suggesting a normal bike because I was only interested in things which aren't so practical for commuting - I like trials and downhill. However, crap is crap whatever it is being used for.

Biking - Any tips or tricks?
Remember that you get what you pay for. If you're going for a bike with front suspension steer clear of "SR Suntour" and other nonbranded forks, look for Marzocchi/Rockshoxx/Manitou and the higher end RST.

star wars jedi knights jedi academy
Yes you're thinking of the right one. The mission system presents you with 2-4 missions in each stage and you can choose the order you do them in - you still have to do every single one I think, which I found annoying.

star wars jedi knights jedi academy
I thought it wasn't as good as its predecessor, JK2: Jedi Outcast. Whilst the combat was better the story was poor and the characters were stupid.

Toothpaste...
I think that young people can get away with it more easily. Toothpaste's main job is just making the toothbrush more abrasive, it contains a powder which is effective at cleaning off the harder bits of plaque. This abrasive powder makes toothpaste usable as a metal polish...

Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
They only tell them about the dianetics part, they get the victim convinced that it is about science, hence the name.
-
Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
The only reason any of them believe it is because they aren't told that stuff until they have been in the church for a fair while. I believe they get told it when they are an "Ascended Thetan".

Suggestions ( Arguments Within )
Ugh, some of us dislike the 'excitingly' named boards enough already. We don't need more.

Hdd Space
Well there's another one which gives a graphical representation of what is using what amount of space but it isn't a pie chart; it's something more useful. It's called spacemonger and can be found on google.

Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
How am I contradicting myself? The things that people believe don't have to be real for their belief in them to affect their lives.
-
Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
Harmless? If it is taking over people's lives, affecting their relationships with their families and severely draining their money then it is far from harmless.
-
Scientology - Are You Kidding Me???
Damn right. Compare that to some of the other stuff these 'sane' theists believe and there is little difference. Each is just as likely to have really happened. The only thing is that a hindu or a christian can't look at their beliefs from an objective point of view because that's what they consider to be real. To them it doesn't sound ridiculous that there is a man with four arms and the head of an elephant riding on a mouse because that is completely real.

New computer - What should I use it for?
DOS games is a great idea. Even with DOSBox some run too fast on my machine, though I've tried slowing them down. You could also use it for Folding@Home.

It is in cases where you need to use it as an excuse.

Drivers Ed, Waste of Time and Money?
You don't have to take any sort of test before you can start learning to drive here. You can start having lessons as soon as you turn 17 and you've got your provisional license (can apply for it at 16). You don't have to have ANY lessons here, you could just go ahead and do your theory and practical tests without having had a lesson from either an instructor or your parents. You've got to get 30/35 questions on the theory test, 44/75 on the hazard perception test and then do the 35-40 min practical test and get no serious/dangerous faults and no more than 15 minor ones.

Over here at least, 'not guilty by reason of insanity' doesn't mean you get away with it - it means you can get sent to a secure mental institution indefinitely.

Will this laptop work smoothly?
Don't waste money on a laptop which is overkill if all you want to do is play runescape and work on it.
