Why didn't Jagex just remove skilling?
The minority pked? are you on crack?, out of the 8 million current runescape accounts im willing to bet about 6 million of them were pk accs. Not according to Jagex's own polls.

Rares prices.... (27,000+ views)
If investing in one at 150K and having it worth over 20 Mill now ISN'T a "use" I don't know what is...... I could either have 150K in my bank, or an item "worth" 20mill. Some items HAVE a "use" option. While other items ARE a "use" option.

Has RuneScape become a grindfest?
Having played RS since classic and STILL being able to play it, I can say I always thought of RS as a grind. That's really why I play it. Ever since RS2 I've thought that the grind has been getting much easier. And welcome the idea that Jagex is returning to the old "grind". It seems to many players recently believe that getting a skill to 99 shouldn't take to long. Months at most. I often wonder what brings these types of players here? This obviously isn't a first person shooter. And it certainly isn't another "max out in 6 months game". Why do players come here, then immediately complain that it's a grind? Of course it is! There ARE those of us that LIKE grinds. We like the idea that the time required to get a toon to a respectable level is measured in YEARS. I WELCOME the removal of all the do-x, and make-x options, though I know that will never happen.

Why didn't Jagex just remove skilling?
What Jagex did was to remove parts of the game that were used by a minority. Logically should Jagex remove something used by 10 percent of the players, or something used by 90 percent of the players? Using the wild... No, using the edge to safe PK was a minority sport, and so was high stakes gambling. Jagex had to remove the ability for RWT to function easily. Sure, removing skills would do that, but it would DIRECTLY affect the majority of players. Removing the PKers from the wild and removing high stakes gambling from the game not only affected less players, but also removed many scams along with it. In conclusion: Jagex could have gotten rid of skills, but it would have affected more players. So they choose the safer option, and adjusted PKing, and staking.

Rares prices.... (27,000+ views)
I doubt Jagex would do that. While they have stated they won't remove rares, they HAVE stated they are against what they have become. I don't see Jagex protecting rares beyond keeping them in the game.

Tip.it Times Presents: Jagex, I want a GOOD update!
heres another tip. Dark bows suck and bots will always exsist... in fact..i saw on a site now that there accumulating the wealth on an account then selling the account. *sigh* jagex, you screwed up :wall: Hmmm..... So instead of running dozens of bots, and trading to one account, they are botting ONE account and then selling that eventually... I would call that a win for Jagex. Only ONE account to ban and the RWT lose ALL their investment. Most RWT and their bots are gone. To claim Jagex has screwed up because they didn't remove them all is silly.

Has Jagex Forced Prices up of Items that were Undervalued?
Lol what? Alching cost money a LONG time before the GE came out. While I agree with Paw_Claw about making money while BUYING everything for a skill I have to disagree about Jagex removing their vaunted "player controlled prices" to do so. If a player is willing to SELL at a lower price, then what's the problem? I'd rather sell my products, then keep them for months/years in my bank because Jagex decided players are to stupid to run the economy. Which is weird, because we ran it just fine for almost 7 years....

Has Jagex Forced Prices up of Items that were Undervalued?
While I don't like Jagex making price floors for items I WILL say they aren't "nerfing" alching. They are "nerfing" the ability of players to raise their mage level quickly by BUYING everything they need to alch, and STILL makeing money while doing so. And quite honestly I agree with that. Players should NEVER of been able to buy everything to speed level and still make profit. Yew longs still 704 each? Nice player controlled GE prices Jagex...

Prices of rares?
Unless the poster above you is right, yes. And by "just a matter of time" it MAY mean years. And while I HOPE he's wrong, with the way Jagex has been caught lying about the way the GE works lately he may not be. I have no doubt if Jagex wishes it they would do it.

Prices of rares?
Dunno about last month, but I sold a red mask last year for 38M (and last year not meaning 4 days ago, but a couple months ago ) Rares won't always keep going up if nobody wants them. As qeltar said, in order for an item to go up in price there needs to be a large demand for it. If there's a medium/low supply of an item but no demand, how can it go up? Exactly. There's an extremely low supply of black spears ingame, but do they have a high price? No. It's because they're useless, and nobody wants them. There will always be players that want something that's hard to get. Rares are that item. I see players that swam in a sea of money suddenly finding themselves without their "easy" ways to make hundreds of millions. These players are now panic selling. As they think it's impossible to play RS without making tens of millions a day, they want to make sure their suddenly "suspect" investments are in nice "safe" cash. I don't know when the prices of rares will bottom out. If summoning can be leveled very quickly with tons of cash I bet the prices will drop even more as players sell even MORE rares to get liquidity. But eventually the playerbase WILL stop worrying about "surviving" this economic mess. And once that is over, players will start to worry more about making money again. Once prices on rares start going up players will start merching them again, and we shall see how long that "bubble" lasts.

Prices of rares?
Sorry, but this claim is fundamentally flawed. Everyone keeps saying it, but that doesn't make it any less flawed. The supply is small and won't be increasing, true, but price is dependent on both supply *and* demand. Right now demand for these items is dropping. Since so much of the market for them is built on basically nothing (speculation, bragging rights, merchanting, and players who have now left) there is nothing to suggest that the price will necessarily return to what it once was. When bubbles burst, sometimes they recover to their former highs, but sometimes they do not. I consider rares like any collectible. Just like fine art in the real world. There's only so many Picasso's, Monet's, and Remington sculptures. And Prices for them do ebb and flow just like rares in this game. Prices decrease, but they WILL go back up. It's only a matter of time. And seeing as I'm willing to wait years, there's no doubt the "mantra" will prove correct. Players that dislike rares being expensive investments can attempt to "talk down" about them, AND the idea that they will go back up. But in the end we all only have past performance to base any claims on. I base my position that rares WILL go back up on the fact that they've consistently done so since their introduction. And see no reason for them to stop doing that once the economy settles down.

Exp farmers a new threat?
In order for a seller to level an account cheaply they would HAVE to use a macro. Even USING a macro it would take months. Jagex has shown that they are fairly good at banning an account in THAT amount of time. But failing that, let's say it DOES happen. For the account to be GOOD it would need member stats. What happens when suddenly dozens of high level accounts are going from one continent and one payer, to a different country, and a totally different payer. THEN the account gets new recoveries and new pin. I do believe even an inept Jagex could figure THAT out....

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
You can't stop posting them here, this is the only place I can respond to them on.

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
I don't understand why so many people have to be on one side or the other. Or seem to think others have to be? I post here on issues, and whether I like parts of them. But according to some, if I post an anti-update thread then I MUST keep posting them since I obviously hate Jagex. But I don't. I LIKE some of the recent update and hate the rest. BUT given a choice of 2 evils, I'll take what in MY opinion is the lesser of the two. I'm the same way with Qeltar's posts. Most of the time I can say I agree with him. But I DO disagree with him about high stakes dueling, and the wild, but I can separate my feelings and post accordingly. I feel as long as the game is played WITHOUT breaking the rules alls' fair. Gambling, and paying high prices for rares was never against the rules. Why do so many here "latch" onto others like blood starved leeches and attack? On this I agree with him. This should have been postponed till the GE prices were fixed. BUT after seeing how much this update killed bots and the RWT that used them I AGREE with the 5 percent cap. So I'm pro-Jagex. But I hate that prices only adjust once a day. So I'm anti Jagex. But I like that players can't drop trade to pures. So I'm pro Jagex now. But then I HATE being lied to. So now I'm anti Jagex. What to DO? Maybe Qeltar isn't Black or white, maybe he's like a gray, or a plaid?

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
Which is why Jagex asked us to make them a list. The VAST majority of prices are right or close enough. The ones that weren't could have been fixed in the last 3 weeks.

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
So let me paraphrase this for everyone: "I don't feel like debating any of the points you brought up. It may be because I can't. Or maybe I just don't care. Why do you keep quoting me? I'm not going to attempt to show why you're wrong, you just ARE. So instead I'm going to make it sound like you being here is some kind of conspiracy. Then I'm going to attack your real intentions.

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
I am sorry.... but I really resent that... When posting on the official forums of course I have to watch how I word things as my wording + a mod title can case allot of issues.... but as soon as I feel I am at a stage where the fact that i am a mod means I cannot put my view across in the manner I want I would resign my position. Jagex encourage us to be our selves, and to have our own views positive or negative. It always seems to be your comeback when I disagree with you that it's because i am an official moderator... well I'm sorry but thats totally false, I disagree with you because I disagree with you. I am not asking you you change your opinions... you re entitled to them and i am glad you have them.... I am also not asking that you make any major changes.... I mearly state that some of the wording you use is unfair, and not only unfair in many cases just one sided wording puts a hell of alot of bias on the readers, artificially changing their opinions. I would have allot more respect for your opinions if you did it (in this case) in a manner that is not so leading. It can be worded much better in a fashion that lets people come to their own conclusions.... I know you can do it.... I have seen your able to do it. Ahh..... So if a company is caught in a LIE we can't call it that with-out being sued. Wow. Slightly off topic, is this anything like calling a slightly stretched out square a diamond?

Runecrafting to be the top trained Skill for 2008?...
this part stood out for me to ask, then why alch yew longs? Because it's a speed issue. Players should NEVER have been able to buy EVERYTHING needed to level a skill quickly and STILL make a profit. I've yet to lose anything leveling magic as I make EVERYTHING myself. I get 100 percent profit, but that comes at the cost of speed.

Deflation about to kick in again?
Less currency means people have less money (less demand) to spend on stuff, meaning sellers will have to discount prices in order to sell their items. More currency = less purchasing power, correct. This supports prices going down for deflation, since each dollar has more purchasing power, meaning you can buy things for less dollars. Indeed, I was taking his quote as meaning something else. It's not often I prove my OWN self wrong in my OWN post... Still less money coming into RS is better than more. Though I personally doubt there will that drastic a drop in gold in runescape.

Deflation about to kick in again?
Opps My mistake....

Giving up on green dragons, reverants are too strong
Good. Then the wild is DANGEROUS now. More so than it was when it was PKer territory. The wild should have ALWAYS been this dangerous.

Rares? What will happen?
where? :-k imo i don't think the Ge prices will change at all and the the prices will stay the same perminantly. reason is, jagex didn't want the players to make money out of them in the first place. so the rares after the 3k update will be for the players that want to keep them to show off that they can afford it. If the prices stay the same permanently Jagex will be PROVEN to be liars quite blatantly. And Jagex usually likes to have plausible deniability behind them when they lie. And the "rares will be untradable in January" post was made by the type of player that actually USES the word "readed". So for some reason I doubt the validity of that rumor.....

Is there a "true" training method?
Any way to LEGALLY raise a skill is Kosher. I raise most of mine by gathering all my own materials, then making, and either alching them, or selling them. I then have a large amount of gold on hand.... What am I supposed to "do" with it, if using it to buy a skill is "wrong"? I think it's fine to use anything legally obtained in the game to raise skills. I made money fishing shark to 99. So I used that money on ranged, and on construction. Nothing at all disrespectful about that. It's MY cash. MY skills raised that cash for me. I'll use it to power level till I run out, then I'll skill up some more for another run. And why does it seem that so many od these posts here about respect deal with "profit"? I'm fairly certain I read a post that said a method of leveling is only "true" if it results in profit. Am I right about that? Exactly where does Jagex state this game is about "profit"?

Monday Poll: How long will you wait to summon?
I hope I don't HAVE to pay to raise this skill, seeing as even construction can be raised for free I doubt it highly. I'll start first day on it. Then after a few weeks, if I feel the need, I'll spend some of my gold on it to level it faster.
