Give users the opportunity to lock their own threads
i thought you could already do this? i got no current topics going so i can't check. Also i think this could go either way but before i spend my time answering, lets get some verification.

Royal Chinchompadiers
yes they give hp exp. You can gain well over 700kexp in an hour if you have enough chins and enough people with sara brews in a spot, wildy, tzhaar..etc. i went from 56-60 range in about one pc game. these things are awsome, i've got like 4k in my bank any1 wanna buy? lol off-topic =). anyways the possiblities are endless and if a clan or something or group were to be made to gather around alot of people into a multi area and then have em grouped then have peopel throw chins it'd be great and i'd be happy to join.

Updates to come for 2007?
jagex focused on mid to low lvl players 2005 and 2006 ,mostly, maybe they're gonna give some good high level things in 2007. I'm pretty sure antoehr dragon weapon or item is coming, new skill probably, we got what 2 skills in one year?or was it 3? New armour set, a conclusion to temple knights, a quest to pro-long the conclusion of the god wars, probably quests and everything will be pointing itno the past of runescape. Also i think clan support.

Clan Directory
Don't flame tip it officials, its really good for your idea-.-. hmm, k, so for people they'd go onto the clan directory, be able to choose clan requirments, then go into a sub catergory of members, and then hit search? so they'd be able to specify what kind of clan and such? so for catergory it'd be: clan requirments length of time open skill pking monster hunting clan sub-catergories: 100+-126 clan reqs 90-99+ clan reqs 80-89+ clan reqs 70-79+ clan reqs 60-69+ clan reqs 50-59+ clan reqs since 2004 since 2005 since 2006 Also i don't think it'd be to much of a difficulty, i think have clans post an application onto the directory and if it meets the directories reqs, that clan would be uploaded into the directory, now when they do search for someone i think they'd need to see soemthing: clan banner at top(this being a picture link) clan reqs member count since the time of creation what kind of member they're looking for link to clan forums/site other info a little paragraph about the clan. I think i'm thinking about a database more then a directory, but there's still some good ideas in there.

Moving topics instead of locking?
=), and then: How would we know they post, correctly, i think the mods would have no way of knowing that users history unless a database for people who post wrong, break rules, is created(i'm sure there's a database, but not for people who post wrong, unless its severe). So i think almost everytime its a blind guess on what to do with the topic, assuming it doesn't break anymore rules then wrong forum posting, and like someone said its their discretion, the mods. i agree with that last little bit though, but one thing still, if they already know, the tip it mods may not know that they know, so the users may know this and knowing, post in wrong forum out of laziness and know they're topic will be moved. I think if tip it mods moved more then locked alot of people would be to lazy to bother posting in other forums, they'd just stay in the forum they are then and well yeah-.-. *ever since i learned how to quote back in september, psoting has never been so much fun!* Nazimods?hmmm, strangly thinking about it, i get a warm feeling, feeling that i gonna get shot by a nazimod-.-

Suggestion (New Market View)
I'm still hoping someone from tip it considers this =). Anyways for your last comment, that falls into a rule brought up by jagex i think it was called real life trading, yes it would be a good idea but i don't think anyone would want to manage something like that unless it was an extreme demand?wuld you invest in something only one person is talking about while others are already talking about something else, thats more popular?the time and effort may take awhile even if it were allowed, think about it'd need to be very server firendly, especially to all countries that play rs, plus it'd need to bed payment friendly, and peopel who scam would be a big issue cause it would be more of an interface, interacting with other people, more then just languages speaking to each other. Time, money, codes=nope, nope, nope, however money may be earned back if enough accounts are payed for on the Runebay, but people already pay for members, which is $5?,so adding antoher 5 may not be good, lets say 3/5 of the 144k? registered people are members, how many of those want to put aside $5 for faster trades? exactly. However back to my original thoughts about the seperation i still think its a great idea and would cause alot less confusion, it would be more flexible imo. I really am in with a strong feel for this, i hope this gets considered!

Moving topics instead of locking?
Did you even read or consider my reply? Tip it officials shouldn't care wether or not they are awed and what not by users, they are simply put regular users of the forums who have shown enough responsibility to be seen by tip it as a good person to help keep rules in-line. Their objective is not for people to "awe" them, but keep order. 10 locked topics? does that really bother you? those 10 topics could have been answered before they were locked, weren't the right topics to be moved, you assumed these topcis were topics that should have been moved, not all topics are topics that need to be moved, you didn't check out the topics and read all posts i am assuming, since you so blindly insulted tip it mods and totally missed the topics by saying that they ALL should have been moved i believe this sentence clarifies that: the first phrase proves to many that you didn't read any of those topics and you assumed they were topics that needed to be moved to other forums, you didn't even take into consideration that they could be spam, flame topics, have or break the rules. your second phrase insults the tip it mods by saying what they are doing by locking a topic, this is untrue and if it were i don't think tip it would be around, the objective of the reason why the topic got locked is in the tip it officials mod post....usually that last post.

Moving topics instead of locking?
Good your a mod on another forum, your not a tip it mod so don't think you know exactly what and how tip it mods process wrong posts, also methods taken by tip it mods doesn't mean it is in ur words "bs", if tip it thinks that locking a topic is better then moving it, its probably the rightful action to take, along with a reply to why and hwo to prevent and where to post a correct topic, if its important enough to the person they'll learn and then re-post their topic in the right thread. The differences between locking and moving a topic are a plenty, locking a topic porbably has a more viewable and more public way of getting the message(don't post that kind of thread in this forum) across, but it discourages the thread creator and if that thread was created for a question purpose(this imo is the highest rate of threads posted in wrong forums), and may cause them to go to another forum, but thats an extreme possibility, very unlikely. Moving a topic will give them what they wanted for posting that thread but it won't give a public view and hardly a private view on where you should post a topic. Locked topics are good for examples, if someone has read the topic and agrees with it, that it should be in that forum, well the rules are getting borken without much knowledge. So if that person had read that topic previously and then came back to find why it got locked(especially if they posted on it), and when they find out its in the wrong forum, they're learn. Moving a topic may also do the same good as above, stated in the locked topics part, but like i said its not as strongly put across the table to the users, and is probably why(my opinion) tip it prefers to lock rather then move. Would you have more rule breakers, or more work for the mods/tip it officials which would hender website work?

Ok, this is very unusual...
Couple a days ago on another fansite i saw a thread for a new abyss pking clan, i think the topic got removed, but as this is the result they got enough people for a Christmas themed, grand opening. IMO, i'm glad a Rc pking clan has opened, nto saying rc pking is bad nor good, but i think more rc pking clans are better since, they'd only flock 4-6worlds rather then awhole bunch of em scattered across every single world. I do not know what the clans name was, nor do i know if it were a clan or a friend clan. hows that?

about pest control...
I disagree with you, i was 91combat after 5months of playing, pc came out and i am now 104 combat. anyways i was in afflcition till 100cobmat and i saw nothing like what you described, when i got 100, about 2weeks ago, i did see an increase of 2-3 pures per boat to 3-5pure per boat but thats not a big difference, oh plus it was the weekend.....anwyays i agree that black mask and slayer are good for exp in total but not for single stat exp, slayer training your gaining exp in two stats, but at pc you train one stat and if u chose to you use ur points on that stat, meaning you only gain exp in one stat, also the exp you gain from pp doesn't add up to the amount you would from slayer, however if you train one combat stat in pc and then use ur 100points on a seperate skill it is then btter then training with black mask and slayer. Pest Control is a positive thing, and only reason why people disgust it so much is because they are probably 110+(have u seen 80 and belows complaining about pc?), who had to train the long way, and are mad or frusterated at how fast it is now, or they're just jealous that 110+ isn't going to be a honoured accompilsment. Whoever said or started that 100+ aren't gonna be immature are immature, there's always and always has been 100+s since rs2(if you wanna know my reason why rsc 50cb+people imo aren't immature, pm me, i'll give you a nice long reason=) )that are immature its a fact of life, i know a plenty of 100+s that are immature, maybe the ones your talking about are low in the skill they're training so they have time to talk, maybe they aren't as high skill as you are so you don't have as much time to talk, thus you do not know if your mature or not, you cannot judge if your mature or not.

Why do people hate Runescape?
IMO people dislike or hate or have so much w.e. they have towards rs that they must post it wherever they can is because of graphics, the in-depth quality, the commitment. Graphics: When someone compares WoW to Rs, someones defiantly gonna say omg, runescape sucks, WoW owns it!, when they have no idea what the game is like and what it offers you, they judge it by its cover. This is pretty much like todays society, you judge someone on their appearence and not their qualities, for instance theres a smug looking character then there's a model(different gender for the genders), the model looks hot or sexy, while the smug character looks like he's gonna kill you, so if you were having to decide between two paths, you'd probably go for the model, but the model is evil and will actually kill you, while the smug person is caring, and wouldn't hurt a fly, and is rich=$..... In-depth quality Runescape allows you and always allows you to have many different sets or have no set goals at all, you do not have to start from lvl 1 then when you beta level 1 you go to level 2 and then so on till you get to last level and boom you beat the game. Runescape there's always something to do wether or not you've done everything, you cna always pk, mini-games, hang with friends, help people, and so on, this is because rs is interactive with yourself, and other people, it allows co-operation and solo game play, this allows a sense of freedom altogether and this is why runescape is unlike other online games, your not set on a path that you will continue to go on till you get to the end and win, your on a path thats sqiggly and everything not straight and you can never win, even know we know this we persist on playing. Commitment Face it, the generations of 1990s+(give or take a few years) are the most laziest teenagers or kids or immature little brats ever! Those who play runescape are well commited to it and show it when they have one stat above 70 or have multiple and alot of stats above 60, and have a combat of 60+. Those that play runescape imo do good in school and have a better outlook on life, for they commit themselves and commiting yourself to a game takes genes. In runescape yes you can be lazy in runescape but you have to be commited to be lazy in runescape, no matter what your doing in runescape your always progressing. runescape takes time effort, patience and commitment. Other games you cna beat in 1 or 2 days if your really into it, and there's hardly any that are interactive. when commitment of WoW is compared to Runescape, runescape is easily very very highly won over commitment of WoW.

Eating meat - right or wrong?
Well imo, I'm not a vegatarian but everyone should know how deer are killed off when their population over grows or over popluates and that threatens the ecosystem, so hunters go and kill off some. I think in this case killing off cattle and any other form of meat would be right, since its helping not just everything else but also that type of animal(if only us humans would be shot or murdered, hey why aren't we murdered from keeping ourselves from over-populating?). Also if you kill something for a religious believe i think thats an acception like christmas, thanksgiving, easter, new years..etc. But i don't think an animal shuld be killed because some person likes the taste and would like to degrade that animal by eating it, but murdering it beforehand or buying it. Just think what if cows liked the way humans taste? would we try and stop them from killing us? of course we would we'd think it was unright, unbelievable at that too but we'd defend our race wouldn't we? now whats the emotional difference between humans and animals? they both come from nature.

'Behind the Scenes' giving out a little to much information?
Well in all fairness to jagex noobs out number the not-noob people, so the majority always wins right? i think this is why they give out to much info, noob haven't learned that surprises are ruined when your told what they are-.- Maybe jagex should start listening to the players who've been playing for 2 or so years, nto saying those who haven't been playing for that long can't decide or aren't smart enough but those who have been playing for 2+ years feel like they're being ignored by jagex. I don't read the behindn the scenes anymore, ever since the summer issues.

The "Looking for a buddy"-forum.
i agree that a stickied thread like the searching for a gang member thread or the find a lost rs friend thread, however if this were to happen you'd need to think of if someone did post on that, how would they cooridnate times with each other?would either or all of them be trustworthy, if one happens to get a good drop? What would the consequences be if that were to happen? would the thread be updated or edited every now and then, would this create more good publicity, better tip it friend ties or create flame, bad publicity, and cause flame between two or more people, invovling in broken rules...resulting in tip it community members being suspended or banned? As you can see this kind of a thread could be good or not be good, does the good out-weigh the bad, or vise versa, and if this thread were to be completed and posted up, if something horrible happened could it easily go away or would it scar tip it?Like a big scamming inbued with the thread, could cause people to think tip it is unloyal and doesn't have any loyal members or trustworthy..... I think an impact of something bad with the thread would be medium-hard impact on the site and the reputation tip it has. Would the rep stand up or would it crumble? Anyways if this were to happen, could the thread envolve all the boss-monsters or would their be different threads for boss-monsters? Could you post about minor-boss monsters. Could this be so big a new forum should be added into the forums already?

Take away post count
As merciful pointed out above the debate of keeping or getting or having the post counts only visible in the profile was debated by the tip it community, in a poll, the majority voted to keep post counts and that was to be the end of anything relating to keeping or getting rid of post counts. Those that spam, probably haven't read the rules, get carried away, do not respect the boards, may have mental issues, or are just plain board and take it out on the boards, for some of these nothing that is controlled by the tip it forums can control wether or not the person(s) decide to take action in spamming, just think, if tip it didn't take action for the spammers, YOU may be the one spamming themselves to 1 000 000 posts. This thread should porbably be closed since it goes the against or violates the rules in the poll topic about keeping or getting rid of post counts.

5 person PC and winning it!
Wow, it all seems logical, but is it practical? 10minute game for a win? I don't think no one doubts that a team of 5 who are level 50 and below can kill the portals in time, but i think everyone doubts or looks for the speed of how fast a group can get through a round, the levels of the players is just an add-on bonus. Great job, now maybe you should aim for killing all portals in less then 4minutes? migth be a challenge.

pures - to be or to not be (shakespeare ftl)
Just to let everyone know we're talking about pures, not pures vs mains-.-. I have been pure/pking since the first few months of classic, i can honestly say pures, their attidude, has much differed since then and they do disgrace the name pure whenever they act like such, but to no avail does it really matter how they act, its if they make their money. Runecrafters make money by runecrafting, merchants by merchanting, herblists by potion making(herblore), Pures, pkers of any sort by murder pking. So pking is just another way to make money, either fast or very slowly, now some may think pking is a very simlpe non-complex thing to do, but there your wrong again: For instance one before they go and pk need proper armour(this costs money)proper food(money), pots(money), rings(money), time and investment on a stat(requires money for food/arrows/runes). Now when you add all that together you get a -profit. Pkers have to pk something at the end of their supply or during their supply to make a +profit or to get out of the money they spent and gain some money. 4/5s of the time you lose money. Now someone as smart and said "How can i make more money from pking, give me an edge and such." I'm sure whoever this person was probably didn't have the direct stats of pures today but maybe soemthing roughly like 35-60def, 70str 50att....something like that, and then through years of rs the players developed "pure stats", this led to topics like this and such ignoring why they were made like this. Let me ask you, if you found a better faster way to make money would you not take it? Thats what someone did, they thought on their own, manipulated game stats to give them an edge on someone else, leading towards they win. Also different types of pures: Pking pure: Uses prayer(well almost all) melee: 60att usually until 80-90str, then gets 70att, keeping def at 1. Magic: def maybe put up to 20.....trains magic to high. Range: range to high. Tank: Range+40def. Rune pure:def 45 with melee pure stats. Staking pure: No prayer Usually gets 60att, 90+str and then gets whip at 95str for maximum effiency. Range: usually would get def past 80 range for more % of winning, Magic: high magic, binds and attacks opponents. Okay thats some.... Pures are not a good thing, nor are they a bad thing, they are neutral for they are a part of runescape.
