I'd also like to add that you'll get about 2m melee xp, which is worth at least 10 hours. 50m in junk, by the time I can GE it, is worth 15-20m. Therefore, by selling an onyx with the gem, I make about 30-35m on top of its GE price. I would never buy an onyx ring because it isn't much better than a dragonstone (i), and for most purposes a berserker (i) is actually superior. Some people want it because it is the best, and therefore are willing to pay significantly more for that last 1 attack and defence than for the bonuses before it. GP has diminishing marginal returns on bonuses: you can buy a rune scimitar for 35k, and get 45 slash and 44 strength. Or you could pay 75k more for a dragon scimitar, which has 22 better slash and strength. Then you could pay 3m more for an abyssal whip, which has 15 better attack and 16 better strength. OR you could even spend 50 hours of your time, worth at LEAST 50m, and then 200k an hour to use a chaotic rapier. 1m buys less and less improvement the more of it you buy. It's worth it for someone who has the best gear already and still wants to improve. I'd also like you to explain this "bs overpricing due to laziness" and how it has anything to do with laziness.

In 3-4 years, a purple partyhat will be worth far more than 600m true price. They keep getting harder and harder to get, so if you like them, like I do, it is not unreasonable to try to nab them now while they're plentiful compared to what they will be years down the road. If all you care about is GPs, you should stick with better methods, like flipping as you said. But for me, I only need about 150m more GP to max out all my character's stats, not counting all the money I'll make from mining, runecrafting, and the like. I simply have no use for more gp. -- Question about prices: I have 3 onyx rings and a purple partyhat. How close am I to trading for a yellow?

Trying to pigeonhole people into 5 or 6 or even 1000 categories is bound to fail and not include everyone. I don't see a point in trying to do this. Each person is a different person and you should look at them separately. Underlined the irony.
-
Partyhats have a higher true value than their GE value, because they are limited to 1% increases.

EDIT: [bleep] yeah One step closer to a yellow. :D

We already know that divine>defender at solo bandos. So no, it doesn't end the thread. maybe for more kills yes but actualy rune def > divine for solo bandos, go try soloing bandos with whip + divine, cuz worlds are just too crowded these days and someone with def + whip will crash you so although you can last much longer, defender gets you more kills Just sayin', it's probably because you aren't 99 attack/strength or 95 prayer. Plus you could just bring a defender and switch it when someone tries to crash.

They had a stronger team and/or strategy, and therefore they win. Get over it. If YOU want to win, get stronger and have a better strategy.

Anyone with half a brain is gonna make the effort to either keep the gem or turn it into a ring. No one is stupid enough to make a fury. Onyx = 60m gp, 2.7m tokkul.

What, 23m will take forever =/ I think I'll use yew at most look up eucalyptus too, they pretty much get the same xp as yews (slightly less) they're usually more efficient to burn than yews, since eucalyptus logs are only useful for burning. Yews are currently more efficient than eucalyptus at all incomes over -264,600/hour.

That is low level. Bladewing got it in 25 hours I believe, with turmoil, soul split, extremes and steel titan. I did it in 30 without steel titan. Yeah, based on the rate I was getting it would take about 22 hours with what I was using. That being extremes, turmoil, whip + defender, claws + recover specials, steel titan + scrolls. Should be able to get it in 20 hours with a rapier now. You also get a bunch of other drops which help. 10 onyx tips, 1.8 items an hour, plus gems. That should be about 300k an hour without any gems, which we'll say will cover potions. In 22 hours you'll get 6.6m in drops, plus an onyx which is 12m GE and about 60m street.

Magic logs are around 425k xp/h. Saves your wrist since it's so much faster than those crappy maples.
-
You cannot sell tokkul to Tzhaar stores anymore, and onyx now costs 2.7m tokkul instead of 260k.
-
The poor are people who complain about low drop rates, then go off to runecraft natures for 400k an hour. The rich people suck it up and keep doing what's good for money, even if it has a higher variance.

Anyone have a good idea what these go for? It's hard to tell from RSOF and I don't see them much in W2. -
Nice, 4% of the way to a maxed character.

Your replies sound to me like this: "i don't want to talk to a mathematician, y'all mofos are lyin, and gettin me pissed" I just showed you how 30% reduction > extra blocking.
-
That doesn't even make any sense. It will help block 100% of damage if you don't get hit. And if you DON'T think that will help prevent damage, then you're horribly wrong. Every bit helps. And that's a large little bit. Say I currently block 50% of all hits just with 250 defence, divine included. Divine then reduces the remaining 50% of damage by 30%. So I really block 65% of all damage. Are you telling me that increasing 250 defence to 275 defence (10% increase) will increase the number of blocks I get from 50% to 65% (30% increase)? That's absurd, because it's been empirically shown that defence bonus has very little returns at high defence bonuses.

Start farming ASAP. 3+ herb runs, I recommend wergalis right now, the other herbs just don't give enough gp to cover the bonus xp (20+ gp/xp, which is ridiculously high for farming). Grow limpwurts or marigolds and pick your cactus too. Each day you should do a tree run. Do 5 palms, a calquat, and either 5 yews (no payment, supercompost) or 5 magics (payment, no supercompost). Mine gold in LRC, and superheat the gold ore as you mine (be sure to wear goldsmithing gauntlets). Superheat does not interrupt mining. Once you get 99 mining, finish up the difference in smithing with addy platebodies. 99 thieving you should either blackjack or pyramid plunder. Cleaning herbs every day is a good way to get herb. For crafting, you should really only do one of three things: Air battlestaffs (cheap), cutting dragonstones, or black leather bodies. Don't do green bodies, and don't do SC. Start buying battlestaffs each day, because 664 a day is your limit if you have no friends who will buy them for you. There are many ways to get 138 combat, so I'll let you decide. I'm no expert on agility and hunter, but barehanded butterflies looks pretty good for hunter, with a very good agility xp too.

If you actually think that an increase from 250 defence to 275 defence is going to prevent an additional 30% of damage, then you are horribly wrong.

I remember ranting on RSOF back then about how fire giants should drop Dragon 2h swords. Yeah, I was that cool 8-) (Was before chaos elemental, fyi.) -
Everyone should sell things to me for the price I want. I also can't be bothered to get them myself. i saport

Efficient Method of Maging Steel Dragons?
Bladewing replied to Cacmypants's topic in Help and Advice
Prayer potions don't cost much at all if you're meleeing. I use like 8 an hour, which is around 80k.
