  1. small, close-knit group of friends writing articles a friend (not objective) editor "edits" the articles any criticism is viewed as a personal attack ingroup-outgroup mentality etc.
  2. if i criticize the national enquirer, i do not need to write an article for them to prove i am better edit: i am not saying i can write better than you i am saying that the way the times is set up is a breeding ground for groupthink
  3. i am at like 6k points atm. i skip every task i don't like or don't feel like doing, and somehow my points keep going up
  4. okay how about a quest that requires all skills 89 then your complaint about 90+ reqs is equally, if not more, arbitrary than having those requirements
  5. Okay, seriously. I see your point and everything, but enough with the insults. Saying the author is wrong is one thing, but stating that author lacks logic skills is NOT the best way to show that you are expressing your opinion, however valid, POLITELY and CONSTRUCTIVELY, about the article. Sorry about that, annoyance showing through there. there is no right way nothing will change because the times is basically a circle jerk of friends who refuse to listen to criticism
  6. neither are prestigious you're playing the wrong game if you want prestige, that's for dungeoneering
  7. i highly recommend using red chins, you should still profit with reds because rune boots and seed prices have gone way up while chin and ppot prices have gone down.
  8. ^ yeah rapier is so good it was my first and second item
  9. having a degree and getting a nice job is fun having a nice car is fun i don't know about you, but some people actually have fun in life an hero if you don't
  10. Wheres the notion that you should have to grind 200 hours to enjoy the fun parts of the game. A little grind is fine, 200 hours of hardcore fishing grind is not fun. you are not entitled to play that part of the game. if you don't want to grind for it that's your choice. you are not entitled to a diploma without 4 years of grinding your studies you are not entitled to a new car without grinding your job for some money
  11. Its pretty silly to claim to be an efficient player if you don't apply this to as many aspects of your game as is feasible, otherwise anyone can claim such a thing by doing just one thing reasonably efficiently. On the contrary I'm not professing there is a correct way to play but claiming 'Hey I'm efficient' just because of combat is ridiculous and the DIY method suits some of us in our method of play. whether it is efficient or not depends on how much more profit you believe you will earn by owning a divine as well as how much fewer valuable items you will instead not lose because your divine saves you. as WELL as how long you think your divine will hold street (i.e. how much time it could save you later by trading it for bought out items) perhaps fishing, woodcutting, and the like are NOT aspects of some players' gaming experience. they do not train them so deciding between training methods is a useless endeavor. you DID claim you were playing it the right way, even though now you say you are not.
  12. Worth giving up Turm and Soulsplit for it? ^ Not at all. Scroll of Renewal is nice, but yeah like they said it's up to you. If you wish to Burst/Barrage Rock Lobs ever, Tome of Frost can save you a ton of cash in waters. rigour is not worth giving up those prayers for, but rapid renewal is? :shame: tome of frost costs 43k tokens, which would save you 3,870,000 if you used those tokens for repairs instead. you'd have to use 100k waters for tome of frost to be worth purchasing. you won't use that many barraging to 99.
  13. @ ring back when he got those levels, the amount of time he would have to spend actually trading for all those materials was significant. today it takes 15 seconds to buy 10k dragonhides. so it was possibly efficient for him to kill blue dragons, which were at the time quite good money anyway. @jr getting a divine may not be efficient, you are possibly correct efficient is not a synonym for high levelled the only one asserting that there exists a "correct way to play" is YOU
  14. ^ yeah just look at golvellius, he's near-maxed or maxed and he fervently denies ever doing anything efficiently
  15. d spear spec is superior to zgs at castlewars
  16. okay so about the divine. it's 557.9m, 585.8m max in the ge. you have two options for getting a divine. the first is getting the gp then sniping it. just getting the gold will take around 150 hours. then you're looking at camping the ge for 1-6 hours a day for about a week before the price updates - another 30 hours we'll say. 180 hours. THEN you have to wait several weeks and MAYBE you will get the shield. otherwise it'll be another 10 hours of money making and 30 hours of camping the ge and several weeks waiting to MAYBE get a shield. OR you make the 1.5b, and buy the shield + junk for cash. it'd take you about 375 hours, then probably 10-25 hours of actual "shopping" on the rsof to find and haggle with a seller with the junk or do intermediate trades. it'll take you about 15-25 hours to shift 1b junk, and you'll lose probably about 15-20% of that 1b. so either way you're looking at 200, 250, 300 or more hours to get a divine. plus you get NO xp during any of the trading, so there's additional losses there. as for his stats, he has not been playing as much for as long as many others, i know that much for sure. please don't play the "level card", especially when YOUR stats are pitiful compared to his. can you show me where jagex said that not trading and DIY is the way the game was meant to be played? maybe you should read about something called emergent gameplay

    Clues

clues are rarely efficient but i enjoy them so i do them anyway at least 3s and 4s, 2s i usually drop cause dealing with uri items i don't already have in my bank is a hassle
  18. bgs is the most useful because it is the best non-degrading (i.e. swh) spec weapon for corp aside from lols at castlewars or fightpits or whatever, zgs is crap. claws are better for saradomin
  19. if you don't have ma rings i would say just use berserker
  20. the whole point of ags is that you get a decent spec and a decent primary weapon without risking a second weapon if you are going to risk whip you are using a divine or claws - whip + claws is better than whip + ags
  21. how is he trolling making 4m/h on average at either of those bosses is pretty reasonable with the right methods
  22. well here's basically what i use, modified for you to range 360s instead of meleeing equipment: helm - full slayer cape - accumulator amulet - fury ammunition - 500 broad weapon - chaotic rapier shield - rune defender top - bandos legs - bandos gloves - barrows boots - dragon ring - berserker (i) or dstone (i) inventory: enhanced excalibur dragon claws rune crossbow black dhide top 1 extreme attack 1 extreme strength 1 extreme defence 1 extreme ranged 1 overload (for use on jad) death runes earth runes astral runes 6 brews 6 super restores 4 prayer potions i think that should be about good, don't think i'm missing anything
  23. which is easier to do a quest you have the requirements for or to do a quest you do not have the requirements for -- whence came the notion that one is entitled to access all parts of runescape with 60 stats? if a quest came out that required 95 fishing you could just, ya know, not do the quest.
