Does anybody know if this has been discontinued? The thread on the official forums seems to have dissappeared. I dont want to pay 10 gp per rune craft xp :(

i noticed a few visual tweaks so far: 1. On the attack styles page, the name of the weapon you are wielding is now aligned to the centre rather than the left as it was. 2. In Barrows, the Kill Count number is now further down the corner (literally at the corner now)

And bring Sara Brews instead of Sharks, they are far superior than sharks in the caves. Your range, def and Prayer seems fine, though i would bring prayer up a bit more so you can last longer with prayer. Against the 90's, Turn on steel skin when you are killing them, that way you will get hit less. A dose of sara brew and super restore before the wave begins also helps a lot.

i really dont understand why people say Dharok is harder than Karil in the tunnels. Dharok doesnt hit 50's when his hp is full, and because he doesnt hit often, it isnt that hard to get him into a safe spot (which there is 1 in every corner room, so if he spawns there, you are fine). Karil CANNOT be safe spotted, and he hits fast AND accurate, making your life a hell lot more difficult.

it was thought of when POH was released unfortunately.

Guthan and Torag are out of the question, they are easy Verac and Dharok are dangerous, but NOT that dangerous if you safe spot or pray on them that leaves with Karil and Ahrim Ahrim has no ranged defence, while Karil has Mage AND melee defence.... Karil Wins this one. I hate him when he is gone hiding -.-

the only one i can think of near 1m is Wizard (g), and THAT doesnt need quests.

1. thats a bug 2. Before you get to Jad, drink Sara brews until you have over the top HP, then super restore, then ranged pot. When you get to the healers, shoot every one of them once, and turn on steel skin. Try to line them up so only 1 is trying to hit you. When you shoot at the healer, your concentration should be at the SOUND of Jad's attacks, so you can switch prayer. I found shooting 2 at a time to be a good number, ONLY do stuff like potting or shooting the healers, immediately AFTER you have switched on the correct prayer for jad's next attack. 3. Try using Sara Brews over Guthan's if you are using guthan's set. Brews are better in the caves. Range left right and centre.

To make money from Barrows, what you need are the following : 1. Prayer level of at least 52 2. Magic Level of at least 59 (so that you can complete the Family Crest quest and get Chaos Gauntlets) 3. Defence level of at least 70 (so that you dont have to pray through Torag and Guthan) 4. Ranged Level of at least 50 (to use Magic Short Bow) Recommended Levels: 1. Prayer of at least 60 2. Magic Level of 80 or higher, along with Slayer of 55 (so that you can use Slayer Dart, and that you don't have to pray against Ahrim) 3. Ranged Level of at least 70 (to wear Karil's Top and Bottom against Ahrim) 4. Wearing Verac's Armor (NOT including weapon, this armor provides both the prayer bonus against the ones you have to pray, being Dharok, Verac and Karil, and provides melee protection against Torag and Guthan, so you dont have to carry as much equip, so you can carry more supplies) NOTE: I do NOT recommend using Mage Outfit unless your prayer is very high, like in the 70's, because you will end up drinking prayer pots more as a result of faster prayer drain. Most people wear this because it 'speeds' up the runs. I have done both and saw negligible difference, so i kept my prayer outfit. Hope this help

He meant in the first case that he would buy a seed rather than buying a brand new bow. Buying and recharging a seed is much cheaper than buying a new bow.

sigh... 2500 is for the TOTAL bow, not 1 grade, otherwise this bow wouldnt be 180k to recharge. Let's Analyse the 2 situations in detail Scenario 1 : You recharge for 900k, next bow at 720k, assume cost of seed is 150k, total 1770k Scenario 2 : you buy a new bow for 900k, recharge the next one at 900k, total 1800k. Net 30k loss Now lets take a look at what happens during the next 5 recharges: Scenario 1 : Recharge for 540k, then 360k, then 180k, then 180k, then 180k (total 1440k) Scenario 2 : Recharge for 720k, then 540k, then 360k, then 180k, then 180k (total 1980k) Net loss due to scenario 2 : 540k Total loss : 580k Thats how much you actually lose if you recharge the bows, which is 610k. Which is roughly the difference between a new crystal bow and [buying a seed from someone else for 150k + a 180k recharge]. there you go.

62 fishing is required to fish monk fish, which should say on the quest requirements.

Monkfish might not sell well, because lobsters and sharks have a greater supply, and thus greater demand, but if you wish to be self sufficient, and have too low of a fishing level to fish sharks properly, Monkfish cannot be replaced with another type of food for training. Fast fishing (thus great Fishing xp and nets you good numbers), 16 per fish is nothing to be scoffed at, and it tastes great! :P

nope, all you need is access to the stronghold. In fact The gnome stronghold quest also need 25 agility to complete.

1. probably not, they are only for the looks. I dont think jagex will implement something that would be important in a random event. 2. They will probably never EVER let holiday items tradable again, because they did NOT like to see things like P hats and Santas happen again (the fact that they are tradable and a lot of people make money from them) 3. around 600k-800k i think.

It was introduced by jagex as a counter measure to stop macro'ers, basically the jist of it is : There are 2 essences, Normal and Pure. Normal ones can ONLY be made into Air, Mind, Water, Earth, Fire and Body runes. Every other rune (combo or higher levels) can only be done with a pure essence. Pure essence however can be used for lower level runes. The number of runes and the xp you get is not affected by the type of ess you use. to get pure ess by mining, you need to be a member, having done rune mysteries and have lv 30 mining, in which case all your ess will be pure ess.

FYI, Terrorbirds in the Gnome Stronghold also counts as birds.

firstly, you need to prayer for at least 1 hour, because half of the waves that you fight in the caves have the Ket-Zek (360), which has long ranged magic attack, thus you need to have protect from magic on at all times unless they are not firing at you (it is possible to get them stuck so that you cant fire at you), but you need AT LEAST 16 SUPER RESTORES if you are gonna survive. lv 70 ranged is sufficient to do well in the caves, higher makes it easier. Melee'ing Jad is the LAST thing anyone wants to do, simply because you need to switch between 3 prayers as opposed to 2, and thus opening up chances that you misclick the prayer, and get 1 hit. If you were to you use Karil's Crossbow, you need at least 3000 bolts per attempt, thus that is why it is highly suggested that you use crystal bows instead, because it allows cheaper recharges (180k per attempt rather than 900k). Sharks does zits in caves, i used tuna potato's and they completely failed to work. I didnt even see jad when i used food (that's pretty bad), use SARA Brews instead, because you can heal more per inv space, but it also increases your Defence level, which is EXTREMELY beneficial.

With the exception of Karil's Crossbow that is. There should be NO argument here, on its own, NOTHING beats a whip, and I mean it. Whip can only be compared to Dharok's Full Set, but all melee barrow weapons on their own, quite frankly, are useless.

How do you choose your respawn point? complete Recruitment Drive quest, and speak to Sir Tiffy Cashien, he can change your respawn points.

your choice. i would train his defence up, i dont like pures, on the controllers side or the confronting pures side.

verac's? Str bonus? What the...? All Barrow weapons, excluding the X Bow, does not perform well unless it is used as a full set. You NEED the full set for any of the barrow weapons to perform well. Getting the weapon on its own is a waste of money, you are better off buying the plate skirt instead, as the armor pieces are far more useful. Verac's Set doesnt increase str for the record, thats Dharok's set. Verac's set increases the ACCURACY of your hits by (sometimes) ignoring your opponent's armor.

To add to that, you can also do it in crafting, when cutting gems or crafting hard leather armor (ONLY hard leather, soft leather doesnt work).

C bow is indeed good for ahrim, but i found that MSB with Rune arrows kill faster, so you can decide which you want.
