  1. On page 8 I put together a rough estimate to see how long it would take someone playing 8 hours / day training with the best attainable methods to reach this goal. Today I've refined that sheet by factoring in effigies, dungeoneering and slightly tweaking some of the average xp values. Total Hours: 21,429.78 Days (8h/day): 2,678.72 Years (8h/day): 7.34 Days (12h/day): 1,785.82 Years (12h/day): 4.89 Here are the overall results: Skill Total Time(h) Cooking 426.92 Agility 1,596.06 Prayer 317.46 Mining 2,854.29 Smith 23.86 Slayer 5,000.00 Attack - Streng - Defence - Constit - Ranging - Summon 199.80 Fletch - Woodcut 2,099.19 Fishing 2,876.67 Runecra 1,704.30 Firemak 290.97 Magic - Constru 66.60 Farming 214.84 Hunter 1,388.39 Thieve 747.60 Craftin 333.28 Herblor 289.57 Dungeon 909.09
  2. Does anyone know if camouflage or any hunter gear suits provide any sort of additional bonus to catching red salamanders? I think the only salamander that is affected by these specialized suits are the orange ones but I have no real confirmation.
  3. It may be a must for you but on a true rushing team it would be frowned upon.
  4. I'm sure some of the points were posted but I'll re-post for emphasis and due to the fact I don't want to read through the entire post. A lot of the best teams will require you to have a shadow silk hood to rush with them. Your second bind should be a prom 2h or spear++. Shadow silk hood can be pretty elusive if you're unlucky (I'm 200k off 90 and only have seen 1 drop) so until you can get a hood bind a prom plate. A few other pieces of armor will work here but this seems to one of the easiest and most attainable ones to get. Combat 130+ Listen to the keyers orders and act on them as quickly as possible. Make laws and cosmics for gating as soon as you start (I bind laws as my ammunition spot to improve help with rushing 1 -24). You can make cure runes too but I usually buy 2 or 3 cure potions and rarely use them. If you aren't the keyer then purchase tools for each door. For the most part you will not need to farm any items. Loot chests and bring alch runes with you to gain gp along the way (mostly used for building an altar at base). If your team is having a tough time with food have someone fish while others are taking care of guardian rooms or if you have enough gp, buy it and cook it. Clear only guardian rooms and puzzle rooms that contain non-hood friendly monsters or the entire room if one or more of your members is hoodless. If a skill door requires a potion to open then have someone make the pot and farm the herb if need be. This can be done while others are clearing guardian rooms and/or the keyers is opening other doors. If guardian rooms are cleared then run to the furthest doors that are unable to be opened and gate the location so the door is easily accessible once the key is found. This usually can be done once the door is found but sometimes a person may have a different pertinent location gated. Only time you need a bow is to fight Lex. Stand in the corner and fight him and this way you will avoid his book barrage. Only time you need attack runes is to fight Rammer. Fast larges can be completed (opening every door) in less than 30 minutes but it depends on the dungeon and the keyer. Even fast keyers can get a stubborn dungeon that can take over 40.
  5. All they would need to do is create a dedicated beta-server that is a mirror image of the current world and allows players to log-in and test the new content. They can allow for members only to login just like they did for the beta-test switch to RS2. I don't see any downside to this. I don't see how loading one additional server with content can be that costly. Heck, they can even bring down one members server and set it up for a beta server. I doubt it would be missed that much. This information obviously would be made public and everyone would have access to it.
  6. Has anyone determined which size dungeons are the best for xp rates? Solo small dungeons, duo small dungeons setup for 1 or 2 players, trio large dungeons? Solo small but then duo medium size dungeons on the higher floors? Looks like the top ranks are pulling 400k xp / day. Does anyone know how they are doing this besides the obvious fact of playing 12 hours+?
  7. Anyone do any testing to see if is faster to get to boss as fast as possible or if it is worth getting all the bonus rooms? Just talked with the rank 1 and 2 players and they said they are doing 4 man trips. I thought they would be soloing or duoing it. It seems like it takes too long to do with 4 people but maybe I'm missing something.
  8. The prestige system is just how many individual floors you've gone through without repeating one. So if you're able to go through the first 15 floors at will and start on the first then when you finish the 15th your prestige level would be 15. If at that point you can't reach the 16th floor yet, then you can press reset and it will save your prestige level so if you started back from the beginning your prestige level would be 15 as long as you didn't do the same floor more than once. (to simplify it's how many floors you've done in a row without repeating any, and if you repeat one then it reverts to 0, so if you have no choice but to repeat because your level is too low then it's best to reset and start back from the first floor. Doing the highest floor you can reach over and over will slow down your experience significantly. I think that may be why so many people think the xp is so slow) So currently my previous prestige is 5 and my current prestige is 2. The max floor I can play is 7. Last night I logged off which means I need to start over. Should I reset my prestige and start from floor 1 or should I start from floor 3?
  9. How many uncut onyxes can I get for a white party hat?
  10. That's kind of what I expected. I kind of want to know what all the methods you assumed were being used, mostly curiosity on my part. Skill Method Agility Ext Barb/Barb Fishing/Warlocks Attack Slaying Constit Slaying Constru Long Bones Cooking Summer Pies Craft Dragonstones Defence Slaying Farming Palm/Magic Firemak Magic Logs/Inferno Adze Fishing Barb Fishing Fletch Bolts Herblaw Overloads Hunter Warlocks Magic Smelt/Bake Pie/High Alch Mining Gold Ore Prayer Ourg Ranging Slaying Runecra ZMI Slayer Slaying Smith Gold Ore/Adam Streng Slaying Summon Summoning Thieve Blackjack Woodcut Teaks
  11. Smithing can be done while mining gold ore and smelting them. You get 172M smithing while attaining 200M mining and the remaining can be done with adam plates for the other 18M. You could also do runite bars but at that point a few hours isn't really that substantial. Mage is taken care of since you can pretty much multi-train it with other skills. You get tons of XP from pie bake while doing cooking and from smelting all those gold ores. You can also add high alch into your fishing, woodcutting & farming goals. I'd imagine by then you'd have enough to get 200M.
  12. Because it interests me: how does one gain 3 mil exp/hr in Construction? If you have about 173b to blow you can get 200m xp in 15 hours, 12.7m xp/hour  [hide] [/hide] I deemed the magic stone method relatively unfeasible b/c of the high amount of cash. The method I was referring to in my analysis was the zombie impling jar method where you extract long bones from them.
  13. Out of boredom, while raising my MA rank to 300, I decided to put together a spreadsheet to see how long it would take to attain 4.8 billion XP. I used some of the most feasible and attainable speeds that I collected from a few different resources, i.e. rune wiki, youtube guides, forums, etc. The skills that don't have any amounts next to them (Att, Fletch, Mage, etc.) or that seem very small (Smithing & Agility) are skills that can be trained while training other skills. The total amount of time it would take is: 25,274 hours Playing 8 hours / day it would take: 3,159.26 days Total years at 8 hours / day: 8.66 years Skill Total XP / Hr Total Hours Agility 65,000 2,177 Attack - - Const - - Const 3,000,000 67 Cooking 468,000 427 Craft 599,500 334 Defence - - Farming 930,000 215 Firemak 425,320 315 Fishing 65,000 3,077 Fletch - - Herblaw 690,000 290 Hunter 135,000 1,481 Magic - - Mining 61,750 3,239 Prayer 490,000 408 Ranging - - Runecra 50,000 4,000 Slayer 35,000 5,714 Smith 175,000 103 Streng - - Summon 1,000,000 200 Thieve 275,000 727 Woodcut 80,000 2,500
  14. The level and xp output are going to remain the same. It is just changing the overall amount of hit points you have and in-turn increasing damage and healing by x10.
  15. Due to limitations in game I think the fastest lap possible is 62 - 63 seconds. I'm basing this on analysis completed by Zarfot and from watching multiple youtube videos. Does anyone have 80 or 90+ agility that runs through ZMI in the 60 second range that doesn't have to use energy potions?
  16. It's alright. Thanks for the replies. Anyone else have any input?
  17. There is only one method that allows you to get those kind of times... teleport to ZMI > bank w/ fire runes > short run > craft > teleport to ZMI, repeat
  18. Depends how much I'm concentrating but anywhere between 67 - 75 seconds.
  19. Anyone know the Agility level to continually do laps at ZMI without having to use energy potions? I probably do 45 - 50 laps consistently per hour.
  20. What is the fastest way to get ranks? All light elves, playing Siege and rock spamming, or all light elves, play conflict and committing suicide over and over? EDIT: I tested rock spamming on Siege and it seems to take about 7 minutes per game or so. As long as you win each game you could get potentially get 15 - 17 points per hour. If anyone knows a faster way, let me know.
  21. I like the font, interface and the F keys. The common F keys are all easily accessible from F1 - F5 now. - G Bub
  22. This thread reeks of newbs. *looks at Bdvo and Arsenes* \
  23. All correct Fook except you are showing a Top 200 table of Mages. =)
  24. Yeah, that is exactly how the main page looked back in December 2001. I've slid down the hiscores quite a bit since then. \ If anyone I know still plays, add me. I still login from time-to-time. - G Bub
