20-Nov-2012 - Evolution of Combat: Now Live!
I had the strangest experience last night – while down in the LRC last night, for a period of time, it appeared that neither my Vampirism nor my Soul Split were healing me much at all, despite making massive hits on targets while, at the same time, I was getting badly mauled while wearing Bandos gear. Eventually, I had to telly out and recharge my prayer and heal – and when I returned moments later, all the sudden it seemed that I was taking no damage at all … Oh -- and has anyone else seen the glitch with the Addy H4 platebody? Gadzooks, it made my tummy hurt just looking at it!

Preparation for EoC live?
Is Bandos helm that significant in EoC?

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
That is mostly correct. You have to remember that the longer Evolution of Combat is in development, the longer Jagex has to develop two versions of their content, to be consistent with both versions of the game. With how much EoC changes, it'd almost be as if Jagex were developing RuneScape and Classic side by side. Corporate could have also told them to hurry up, as Google is one of the few companies who want their products in beta for multiple years. Another idea that has already been polled here is that Jagex wants organic testing. Not just people who are in the game to methodically pick out bugs and inconsistencies, but you get much better feedback when a lot more people are just playing the game to play it and stumble across bugs that way. Those are good points. To be sure, I have been speculating in-game, for some time now, that one of the reasons why the “live-game” has been so buggy, of late, is because of Jagex’s divided attentions … I wonder too, if perhaps the beta version has simply begun too expensive “not” to deploy now? I mean, it’s come to that point in time where they’ve committed so many resources to it that it’s finally reached the threshold where they can no longer afford to keep it shelved any longer?

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Well there is this, to be sure. I logged into beta last night, for the first time in months, to do the "tutorial" -- which I found brutal. Although part of that was probably due to the lag I was getting because one of my kids was downloading the entire Internet last night. <_< Still -- there was a lot of people just standing around doing nothing. The previous time I logged into beta, all that anyone was doing was buying and selling phats ...

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
What's got my head scratching is why so soon? It's not "ready" by anyone's standard. Even those people who want EOC deployed say it isn't ready. They have to KNOW it isn't ready. So, why do it now? Obviously, the only logical conclusion is that they feel it has to be in place because something else is in development and EOC needs to be in place for it. Right? Or am I leaping to conclusions? What's coming in behind it that they needed to put EOC into play in two weeks time?

2012 U.S. Elections - President Obama Re-elected
Thank goodness that's all over, I was seriously growing tired of this election. So -- how soon before the Republicans start lining up candidates for 2016? Two, maybe three days?

Liking the new telly to Juna. The area looks great and Juna looks like a true guardian now. The streams pour out like syrup but they still hop around at the same crazy rates they did before, and I ended up with about the same number of Tears as I ever did before. Bigger bowl and bigger XP makes it more worthwhile, though - 50K xp on a level 80 skill isn't bad ... I'll go back again, now - it's comparable with the XP one gets from penguins IMO ...

Well Known RWT'rs banned.
Here is, of course, one of the ways that “one person's RWT’ing negatively affects the game”. Inasmuch as Jagex has determined that RWT is against the rules, and therefore has undertaken to employ staff and/or devote time, money and other resources to thwart such individuals from conducting RWT, then that staff and those resources are tied up doing prevention, and not spent or otherwise devoted to game improvements or other more useful tasks. Hell, for that matter, if you want proof that RWT negatively affects the game, I got two words for you: “trade limits”. ‘Nuff said …

I am deleting the political reference, although I find your comment fascinating and would happily engage it in another thread or at another time, but this isn't the place for it because I feel it's going too far off on a tangent, if you don't mind. Also, I am about to run out of time on here today, as I usually dally with this forum from work and it's late in the work day and I want to go home, but let me ask you this: Why does your personal conscience take the effects that your choices have upon others into context? Why should it matter? Ciao for now folks, I will be back some other time ...

LOL! I saw that on Facebook. ... and that's only carriers. Do you want to talk submarines? Destroyers? Hell, the Russians are selling off most of their naval hardware -- that's where the Chinese bought their carrier from.

I understand your point of view, but I don't agree with it. I will explain why, eventually, but first let's get to the common denominator first, without you pre-judging and jumping to conclusions ... You've indicated that your personal conscience tells you to abide by rules, and you abide by those rules to which your personal conscience has no objection. Why, do you suppose, does your personal conscience tells you to abide by such rules at all?
