  1. Nice to see these interesting original-6 match-ups between the Bruins/Rangers and Wings/Hawks. I didn't realize it, but TSN was saying that the Bruins and Rangers have not played a play-off series against each other in nearly 40 years?
  2. Correct! However, it can take something in the neighbourhood of 500+ wins before you earn the boots. I’d suggest that the OP try and find a PC clan, as that’d be the fastest way to get PC points. Also, do the PC Quests as the Elite Void is best. The alternative is, of course, to organize your own game. All you need is 5 players to play and, if played right, you win consistently on Veteran at PC with 5 people.
  3. So, as there was a star due to fall at Misthalin on W60, last night, I decided to attend the Nexus while I waited to see if the star landed at the swamp mine, south of Lumbridge. All I can say is Wow! Just Wow! There’s an hour of my life I am never getting back. Total. Fricken. Snoozefest.
  4. Not to mention a pedicure ...
  5. [singing] We're knights of the Round Table, we dance whene'er we're able. We do routines and chorus scenes with footwork impec-cable, We dine well here in Camelot, we eat ham and jam and Spam a lot. We're knights of the Round Table, our shows are for-mi-dable. But many times we're given rhymes that are quite un-sing-able, We're opera mad in Camelot, we sing from the diaphragm a lot. In war we're tough and able, Quite in-de-fa-ti-gable. Between our quests we sequin vests and impersonate Clark Gable It's a busy life in Camelot ... I have to push the pram a lot. [/singing] It's only a model (shhhhh!)
  6. Worse still, they don’t make his ass look fat … <_<
  7. My only worry is that, if, as and when they do add “divination” to the game as a skill, it’s going to be an actual bona-fide "skill" and not another “mini-game” like Dungeoneering …
  8. LOL! I thought I saw you on there once - hanging outside the POP portal! |^_^| As for the detractors, I've certainly seen enough of those too. Hell, I've been in one particular Clan Chat and had the "Oh look, there's a W42 loser ..." attitude, aimed in my direction. Basically, those kinds of people are little more than bullies, trying to suppress the individuality of others and enforce their idea of conformity upon the rest. They're best ignored. They're simply not worth the time of day.
  9. Well - there it is ...
  10. [/hide] Woo fresh discussion material :P. Anyone have anything to add? Just writing this up now. Nice work - when and where is it going to be posted so I can give it full support?
  11. [editorial remark]The same could be said of American foreign policy (war in Iraq), but still ...[/editorial remark] Amongst the points behind EOC, AFAIK, was that they wanted to lure those players from other MMORPG's who complained that "Runescape was a nice little game but the combat system was far too simplistic ..." I am not sure how successful it's been in that regard, but the point was that they wanted to make the combat system more in line with those found in other games, and hopefully draw a new generation of players to Runescape. Has EOC resulted in more memberships being sold? I dunno. Are they losing money on EOC right now?
  12. How do you know this? Because they wouldn't make a referendum on this without making sure the result was the one they want. Jagex wants to make money. If removing EOC was more or less guaranteed to increase their revenues, they'd put up a referendum in a heartbeat. I think the question is going to be when does it hit the critical mass between cost of development vis a vis income? I mean, they've thrown a lot of time and money into EOC. Has it paid off? Will it pay off?
  13. For what it's worth, I started playing on W42 a while back because I found it provided me with a better PING than other worlds. Since then, I have found it a far more enjoyable world to play on for other reasons. I'm not a roleplayer type per se, but I've grown a strong affection for the people there. For one, the roleplayers, in general, take me back to the times in RSC when people would gather round in places like the Blue Moon Inn and simply exchange ideas, socialize and what-not. There is a sense of "community" there that is unlike anything I've seen on any other world -- not since the early days of RSC, in any event. In many ways, I think, one of the reasons why I enjoy W42 as much as I do now is because it reminds me of why I started playing Runescape in the first place, and is because it reminded me so much of RuneQuest, which was a paper/pencil roleplaying game I played with my friends and family. In any event, W42 has re-kindled a lot of that for me. Secondly, I've found the community far more inviting and friendly. Seriously, the prick to player ratio on W42 is far lower than on any other world I've frequented. I've made a lot of new friends amongst the roleplayers, themselves. Thirdly, the people on W42 are generally some of the most brilliant people I've met in game -- they are certainly the most creative and intellectual people I've ever met in game. |^_^|
  14. My best guess is that it's going to allow you to combine numerous items that you already have (say, a clan ring and SOF necklace, for example) which currently generate separate bonus XP into one item that you can wear/use to give you their combined bonus XP result -- either in terms of a higher amount of bonus XP or a longer duration, therefrom ...
  15. How do you know this? Because they wouldn't make a referendum on this without making sure the result was the one they want. Or they'd move the goal posts in order to get the results they wanted ...
  16. I vote for Brassica Prime!!!! Gimme a One! Gimme a Two! Gimme a One Two Three! Brassica Prime is the god for me! On a serious note - who are the gods for the Dwarves and Elves, again? Might those be indicators for 7 and 8 respectively?
  17. Don't hold back, Sweetie -- tell us how you REALLY feel ...

I'm asking an honest question. If a law is enacted with the purpose of keeping young people from having knives, I think it's important to determine whether the goals are met and whether the benefits offset any cost. I have made the claim that gun control cannot reasonably work to keep people from owning guns. There is no magic; even 100+ years ago, we had the technology to mass produce semi-automatic firearms; in the fairly near future, additive manufacturing may make it easier. I do not believe drugs should be outlawed. The laws put in place obviously are ineffective at keeping people from having the drugs, and enforcement is not cheap. By criminalizing drugs, people who use or trade drugs are forced to deal with criminals and made criminals themselves. Those who are inclined to follow the law may be kept out of dealing, but this pushes profits up for those who are willing to disregard the law. Alcohol prohibition didn't keep criminals from having alcohol, drug prohibition isn't keeping criminals from having drugs, and I don't understand how any reasonable person can expect firearms prohibition to keep criminals from having firearms. One of these things is not like the others. If I possess a knife, a gun, or illegal drugs, it's not reasonable to believe that I am a threat to others. Someone rolling two tons of steel at 70mph down a public road with impaired reflexes and cognitive ability can hardly make the same claim. That said, I'd be in favor of decriminalizing drunk driving, as long as all liabilities remain in place in the event of actual damage. I don't abstain from driving drunk because it's illegal, and neither do the people who drive drunk. I abstain from driving drunk because I'm not confident in my ability to not negligently cause damage to myself, my property, another person, or another person's property. I always find it fascinating when people attempt to circumvent the necessity of law. Generally speaking it’s a clear-cut demonstration that they truly understand neither the idea of responsibility nor the concept of liability. I may as well have asked “If people still kill people, then why have laws against murder?” But then you’d either troll some response that because “killing” is justified under certain circumstances, then there shouldn’t be laws against murder. Trying to imply that, "simply because certain people will always circumvent the law, therefore such laws are useless" is a non sequitur. Youwill aways have people who will ignore laws, or try to argue that they shouldn't apply to them under certain circumstances. The point is that these laws are put into place to protect people from themselves -- which is precisely the reason why the U.S. needs gun control, and they need it now. The argument that more guns means more safety is, of course, total bollocks. You have more guns in circulation now than ever before and more gun violence as a result. Don’t you think that maybe, just maybe, it’s time to give LESS guns a try? It’s been tried elsewhere in the world and worked everywhere. P.S. ~ Not to mention that your “nuclear war” scenario is equally bollocks. The enduring legacy of the program of Mutually Assured Destruction was that it simply created an arms race that bankrupted two “superpowers”.

I'm not sure why you think this matters. It's a de facto ban on the purchase of knives by minors, especially as they are (unless I'm mistaken) forbidden to carry/possess the knives in public. Even buying a knife for use at home would be difficult, as getting the knife home from a shop would necessitate public possession. Given that they are already demonized as knife-wielding maniacs, there was no reason to further paint them as such. Now, how well has the legislation met that aim? Are there honestly many minors who couldn't get their hands on a knife if they wanted one? Having come late to the conversation, I am curious and seeking a clarification – are you advocating that gun control won’t work because, even if there were/are laws in place, people would still be able to acquire guns? By that logic, there should be no laws against illicit drugs, because people are still acquiring them. Ooh ooh! Let’s make drunk driving TOTALLY legal because people still drink and drive!
  20. Hey - on the bright side - it's all gone back to "dead content" for you, once again ...
  21. Omg I'm dying So they finally admit...Best picture on this thread, no doubt about it. You know when I originally saw the image, I thought - "Awesome! We can now set up specific groups for minigames, now! Woot!" - and then I saw that it said "Floor" and "Complexity", et al, and I pooed solid blocks ...
  22. In writing my response to which quest series I’d like to see updated, I am reminded of those cartoons where you see a group of five people sitting around the table in the upper floor of an office building, and the lead guy asks the other four a question, and three of the four lower echelon people give ridiculous answers, while the fourth gives a very reasonable answer and is subsequently tossed out the window of the office building … Mod Mark: Okay Team, which long ignored Quest line should we update next? Mod A: Oooh oooh! The Gnomes! Mod 2: How about the Dwarves? Mod ¢: I like the Pirates!!!! Mod Ð: Why don’t we get off our asses and update the Elves and open up Prifddinas once and for all? *throws Mod Ð out the window*
  23. Actually - making it more like a Coliseum and gladiator school would make it a lot more interesting ...
  24. For the sake of throwing another question into the fray, are cannons of any use anymore with Black Demons? I haven't been to Black Demons since they nerfed effigies ...
