  1. Ooh? Type it in where?

  3. Well poodles ... <_< Might I just offer this piece of advice for you. If you're P2P. then I'd suggest logging into the site and then clicking the "PLAY NOW" button as opposed to just clicking the "PLAY FOR FREE" now button from the main screen. That way, P2P players will avoid the advertisements. Now, yes, I know that these adverts "disappear" after one logs in as a P2P player but, in actuality, they don't. Jagex continues to run the adverts anyways, which ties up some of your game cache -- and it does affect your PING and frame rates. just sayin' ... Thanks.
  4. I am meandering toward 99 in Crafting, Mining and Farming at the moment. I may get one of them by year's end, but we shall see. I'm not working that hard at any of them at the moment, but they are the few skills that I am actually "training" by any definition of the word. So. Little. Time ....

So if I managed to get your password and botted on your char you deserve a perm ban?... Offenses gained while your account wasn't in your control are removed from your record in most cases. Kind of a weird point to try to make. Kinda like how the death eaters got away with being death eaters by claiming that all their actions were a result of someone using the Imperius Curse on them ... Uh huh, yeah ... Whoa! Did I say that out loud? **klaxon noise** GEEK ALERT! **klaxon noise** GEEK ALERT! **klaxon noise**
  6. Says it right in the news post http://services.rune...promissory-note Also I'm 85% sure it also said the expiry date in the Fate cards interface like at the bottom. Well -- there it is ...
  7. Well, he is living in a hole in the ground covered by a sheet of tarpaulin ...
  8. By law, all fantasy dwarves have to follow this template: bearded Scottish alcoholics with a cultural love of giant axes/hammers, heavy armor, and smithing. Rivalry with elves is optional but recommended. Really? Dang it! Is there a "manual" for this stuff, or are we just supposed to read "The Silmarillion"? That is the manual. Oh crap on a stick ... <_<
  9. Or am I missing something? When I click on the "PLAY R/S" button, it takes me to the Main Site. Then I either have to log in to the site, or I can choose the "Play for Free Now". In the case of the former, I end up typing my username and password twice. In the case of the latter, I get the advertisement bar until I log in on my P2P account. I am not fussy on this - but it seems to me that I may be missing a step someplace in my Log In procedure.

  11. Yeah I don't see anything about a "use before" date ...
  12. To be honest, I've taken the 4 darts, but I have not had the time to use them yet. Any ideas on if, as and when these things expire?
  13. Hasn't in the past and there is no statement on it doubling tokens, so I doubt it will. A'ight -- there's no point in doing DG that weekend, then, for me ... *checks it off the list* Thanks!
  14. Tchyeah -- killed 15 goblins and the "boss" I got was a level 5 ... Meanwhile, during the revised Doric quest I was assailed by level 2 monsters! The horror!!!! "Attacked by monsters? Are ye all right, Lassie?" I mean, it's cute and all, but they're not exactly difficult content, ya know? ... and why do the dwarves have [really fake and bad] Scottish accents?
  15. Could they make it so that it can be toggled through the 'show roofs' setting? Dunno - but it sounds like it'd be a good idea. All I know for sure is that, whenever we're poking around in the woods these days, it starts to look like a deforestation project because people keep cutting down trees so they can see anything ...
  16. Here's a question ... What effect does this have on Dungeoneering tokens? The 2x modifier doesn't affect tokens as well, right?
  17. Yes -- as much as I like the new tree graphics, they canopy effect gets in the way -- A LOT. It's particularly annoying around evil trees. Not to mention that it can make finding the ghost penguin something of a challenge in heavily wooded areas ... :P
  18. Don't mind the mess, the place always looks like this ... And welcome.
  19. Correct, but money can be earned at far higher rates than charms collected, so it doesn't have as big of an impact. But yes, time spent training buyable skills is saves you more time than non buyables if you don't assume infinite gp/hr. Well, except you also have to earn the money to buy spirit shards (and pouches) and either earn the money to buy, or otherwise skill to obtain, the seconds to make the pouches ... Again, these things don't magically appear in your inventory either.
  20. Wow 2x bonus all weekend AND it stacks with benefits from SOF and other gear ...
  21. Link please? I cannot access RuneScape from here, but if you post a link, I can toss into an IP thingy and access the specific page ... Thanks.

I do think it's well past the time that Jagex truly nailed all those accounts that bot. Clearly, IMO, one of the reasons why bots maintained such a stranglehold on the game is because, despite the initial effectiveness of Clusterflutterer, the subsequent roll back of stats was of no consequence to them at all. Once it was clear that the dog had no teeth, there was no reason for people not to bot. Sure they may get caught. Sure they even get a 2-day "ban" or a muting -- but they left the accounts themselves intact and, for the most part, virtually unaffected. The net result was that while a relative few accounts lost a few XP and maybe some rs gold, they could still return once the bot buster was circumnavigated and they wreaked havoc once again. If you attempt to draw an imaginary line between what someone defines as a symbiotic bot and a parasitic bot, then you may as well say to hell with the whole bot busting notion because, sooner or later, it's going to be all bots all the time. Oh wait -- it already is ...
  23. Barney – you may have been "carried away" but I don’t feel your point is moot. The reality is that we’re all just playing a video game and certain people should get a dose of reality, if not perspective. They should be grateful that the “worst thing in the world” for them is that some video game publisher has misconstrued their message with respect to whether or not they’d grant additional XP over the course of some weekend. One should be so lucky in life …
