More varied content? The problem with the idea of "more varied content" is that you end up with crap like The Artisan's Workshop and Charm Sprites. What is needed is a complete overhaul of some skills ...

Varrock Square in V1 dead.. :(
I remember Varrock Square being busy as a trade centre in F2P as recently as 2005, or so – but personally, since I started playing P2P, I rarely spend much time at all in any of the F2P areas. I only go to Varrock Square now to claim my Jack of Trades and buy battlestaffs …

Tip.It Times - 14th October 2012
It'd be a cold day in hell before anyone offered me a moderators position in ANYTHING, let alone a player moderator for Runescape. That said, if I was ever offered the position, I am not sure that I would take it. For one, I really don't have the time. With my personal life (husband, kids, home, job) being already so busy, what little game time I do have these days is already tied up in managing my clan, right now. As it is, I don't really play for "myself". Most nights, there is some clan event that needs supervision or attendance or involvement in some way or another. Don't get me wrong, I love my family, I love playing Runescape, I love my clan and my friends and clan-mates, but I'm not all that sure that I have the time to take on more responsibility than I've already undertaken. Not that I'd be offered it anyways, but still ... However, considering the "last batch" of people who were given player moderator rankings in the last mass modding -- including plenty of people that I knew were of questionable character and/or ability -- I'd hope that, this next time around, they actually take the time to review some of the proposed "applicants" prior to giving them silver crowns. Just sayin' ...

Hallowe'en Treat: Scary Bonus XP Weekend!
Really? I've a LOT more than this ... TBH, my original reaction to the OP was that it was a troll. That's not to say that I am very pleased to know that I will be able to get bonus XP for my spirit trees and other products of my massive "farm run", it's just that I had given up hope that there'd be another such opportunity. :shades:

Why Do People Judge RS So Much Differently Than Other Video Games?
Oddly enough, the OP's comments would have made for a decent piece in the Tip It Times. That said, I play Runescape because I enjoy it and to hell with what other people think about it ... :P

Tip.It Times - 7th October 2012
The Wilderness is, indeed, dead content and more is the pity for it. It’s not dead because Jagex took it away either, but rather it’s dead because of how they brought it back. I have some friends, former PKers amongst them, who absolutely refuse to go into the Wildy anymore – they won’t even go after penguins or shooting stars. They refuse to use the Wildy at all, not because they’re afraid, but rather because they have a principle that they feel is necessary to uphold. They refute Jagex’s claim that the “revised” Wildy was what the majority of players wanted, and they’re downright angry that the Wildy has now returned with “training wheels”. While I am not one of those people who refuse to use the Wildy – in fact, I venture forth into it at least 2-3 times a night – I can see their point. Why offer to bring back “the Wildy” and then nerf it? There’s no one out there on most worlds, and those who are out there are only interested in PKing bots. Honestly, where is the overwhelming 91% of players who wanted this? I can tell you one thing – they’re not in the Wilderness, that’s for certain. I look forward to the upcoming content – personally, I’d wish for a “Wilderness Task/Challenge Diary” – but I’d wager that I’d be in the minority for that too …

Could someone please kindly change the title to this thread to "Promissory" Note? Thanks.- Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+
Seriously -- I'm not against raising the levels but let them get some content in place first, shall we? Indeed, it seems like most skills weren't balanced with even the upper-80s in mind. This kind of thing wouldn't make sense unless you did EoC-level overhauls of a number of skills. Then again -- perhaps if they incorporated an idea i floated about a while ago in the Tip.It Times. If they opened up Dungeoneering, and brought the content that is limited therein out into the rest of the game, they might have sufficient content therein to overhaul some skills for the purposes of raising max levels to 120 ...- Botany Bay & Ozan Quest Double Bill - Sept. 26th, 2012
Nice quests -- I enjoyed them immensely -- however, I think I preferred Prince Ali Rescue to the new Ozan series. It's probably just me though. I've never been attracted to the Narcissistic personality type that narrates everything he's doing. While I like the voice over work, I have to agree that I wish I had an option to add a voice for my own character. I think it would make the scenario a little better. That said, what were basically two very short quests took a lot longer to get done because of all the voice over work. Not that I was in a rush or anything, but they did take longer than they normally would without the voice over feature. Still, these days with quests coming so few and far between, I find myself savouring every quest when it comes out, so I probably dawdled over these ones just to enjoy them more. |^_^|- You have been banned!
Actually, it was more like the Jagex version of the "rapture" but still ... And, considering the number of people screaming for someone to lose their job because they couldn't entertain themselves for under an hour, I think we really need to settle back and get some sense of perspective. The good news is that it now appears that they have a kickass bot detection system that's not only going to locate bots, but really knock them down, albeit for a little while. The bad news is that it appears that it's got a couple of tweaks left before it goes "live" for reals.- Legitimate Reasons to Raise All Skill Caps to 120+

Well I, for one, would love to share your enthusiasm and optimism, but as of this moment in time, I do not. Perhaps you’re right and the actual anti-bot mechanisms aren't in place yet. Perhaps the bots I am seeing have been “warned” already and simply continue to flaunt their mechanized indifference in the face of their immanent demise. I don’t know. What I DO know is that this notion of “hot spotting” seems somewhat farcical when it’s been abundantly clear where the bots generally congregate and has been for quite some time. You know, it’s moments like these when I get that distinct feeling that the "game developers" spend far too much time in their own game boss killing, and not any time whatsoever in training skills or killing lower level monsters, because, if they did, they’d fricken KNOW already where the bot hotspots are … At least that's my impression, anyways. - Promissory Note & Choose Your Fate rewards
