  1. If you see a lot of bots in one area then make sure you report them. Jagex mentioned that they are using a "hot spot" mechanism where they monitor heavily botted areas closer. ... "hot spot mechanism" ...? Seriously? I wandered past the red chins hunting grounds yesterday while on my way to gather redstone on World 25, and there were tonnes of bots still operating there. I stood there for a good 15 minutes hoping to see a "fickle finger of fate" and didn't see one, nor did any of the bots seem any worse for wear either ... <_<
  2. That worked for me - got the plate! Thanks!!
  3. For some strange reason, I keep getting offered challenges/tasks for skills that I already have at 99 ...
  4. I'm still confused as to what happened the other day. Last Thursday, I got dragon ceremonial grieves and cape (again). They were my second set of each. I still don't have the body for that set, but I got the cape and grieves again, somehow. Oddly enough, they didn't stack in my bank either. When I logged back in Friday night, the cape and grieves were gone and I had no explanation for it or anything to replace them. On top of that, all weekend long NONE of my free spins even offered me the plate body. Heck -- as things go, while everyone else I know got fish masks and tattoos, I think I saw either of those offered during spins only two or three times each over the entire course of the summer. Suffice to say, I never got those items either ... <_< And yes, I know-- "You have bad luck, Bly ..."
  5. you werent a kid in old runescape and that makes the mix of the idyllic past with childhood (>12 years old) memories less powerful. Now look there ya young whippersnapper! (*shakes cane*) When I started playing this here game, there was four (4) worlds, and anything north of Draynor was Wilderness. And we had to walk uphill, both ways ... Why, I remember when Mithril armour was the end all and be all. (*coughs*) In them there days, you could buy a White Phat for the unheard of price of 20K, to complete yer set. Now, stop pestering me, sonny, whilst I gets ma walker ...
  6. Sowwy ... yeah uh, way behind there lol a one def pure will probably get mistaken for the flag in castle wars Wow -- do people even "PK" anymore? I mean other than green dragon bots. Any time I go into the Wildy, the only "players" I see there are fellow clan mates (chasing a star with me) and bots. I never see "pures" out there, at least not by the definition that used to define one, in any event ...
  7. I, for one, have NEVER understood the nostalgia for video games ...
  8. If this is the case, can I just say (To any Jmods reading this) that I welcome our new Cambridge overlords and would be more than willing to sell whatever information you need for your world domination plots. O:) Wait! What? JMODS are actually reading this forum?!?!? For reals?!?!? *fusses with outfit* *preens* *checks hair* *strikes alluring pose* Hello boys! Aren't ALL of YOU looking so wonderful today! May I just say what a wonderful job you're all doing, and I'd like to take back ALL those terrible things I've been saying about you all this time, ok? HONESTLY! I am. Really sorry. I am sorry. I really am. I am so ****ing sorry!!! Now, can you please re-set the "luck switch" for "Blyaunte", so that I can FINALLY start getting decent drops and better stuff from SOF?!?!?
  9. You're just pulling stuff out of thin air now. In order for me to believe you, you'd have to give some backing. Heck, even one case where money made from a video game illicitly was cause of a person to go to jail due to tax evasion. Now, as someone who legitimately made around 1k in Diablo 3 via the Real Money Auction House, I know I have to pay taxes on it. Well, report it at least. Since I'm a student I probably won't have any taxes due this year. But at the most I've heard of people talking of audits. Tax evasion is normally for people who actively evade taxes. People who can't pay their taxes when due DO NOT go to jail. They are subject to fines, and monthly interest. http://www.irs.gov/t...pics/tc202.html Honestly I wish people would stop making shit up. We can't have a good discussion when one side is simply pulling shit out of their figurative ass. If you cannot pay in full, you should pay as much as possible to reduce the accrual of interest on your account. Please refer to Topic 158 for information needed to ensure that your payment is credited properly. You should consider financing the full payment of your tax liability through loans, such as a home equity loan from a financial institution or a credit or debit card payment. The interest rate and any applicable fees charged by a bank or credit card company are usually lower than the combination of interest and penalties imposed by the Internal Revenue Code. If you cannot pay in full immediately, the IRS offers a short amount of additional time, up to 120 days, to pay in full. No fee will be charged for entering this type of payment arrangement, however, interest will continue to accrue until the liability is paid in ful The point wasn’t that someone goes to jail for tax evasion – even though some people have, in the past, in extreme cases. The point IS that, IF you’re making large sums of money AND not claiming it, AND you’re hiding it by creating various accounts, using false names, made up personalities and/or syphoning money into accounts in other people’s names, THEN you’re not tax evading, you’re MONEY LAUNDERING. There is a wide line between these two transgressions and the penalties for same are dramatically different. Sure, so someone made $20K and didn’t claim it as income. They’re young and therefore don’t think they need to claim income. “Base taxable income” varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but suffice it to say that if you make, generally, over $10K a year, regardless of your age, you should claim said income. Failure to claim that income may lead the taxing authority to assess you. In Canada, for example, they can go back as far as six (6) years. In some jurisdictions, they can go even further back. If you put that money into a bank account and the bank pays interest on it, the bank will issue you a tax receipt for the income earned and they will send a copy of it to the taxing authority. As such, it’s not like the taxing authority doesn’t know you have the money or that you’ve earned interest on the money. If you open 10 bank accounts and deposit funds into all of them and they all earn interest, the taxing authority will be informed of it. If it appears that these funds were deposited as a means of hiding the larger sum, the government will take a look at it. It becomes even more sketchy, and therefore it is even more likely to be deemed money laundering, when such funds have been acquired through some means which may be deemed to be illicit. Like it or not, the proceeds acquired by selling off the “property” of another individual or company, without that said individual’s or company’s consent, is an illicit act. Filtering said income through various accounts and other nefarious routes, in any manner, with the intention to hide said income from taxing authorities is money laundering. Now, okay, I realize that most of the people here are young and that none of them have any actual experienced in such matters. But, first of all, ignorance of the law is not a defence. Neither is your age. If the Court determines that what you have done is a criminal offence and that you are fit to be tried as an adult, THEN you will be tried and sentenced accordingly. It doesn’t matter if you plead ignorance, innocence or stupidity, you will be tried and convicted.
  10. Ok, i will bite, how does one access the notice board? Never mind I found it ...
  11. Especially if they're still students. I don't know about other places, but I get a massive percentage back (I'm thinking close to all of it) simply because I'm a student. You're missing the point. There is a vast difference between "tax evasion" and "money laundering the proceeds of crime". If you receive income and don't claim it, that is tax evasion. If you put money into numerous different bank accounts and hide it from taxing authorities in order to make it difficult for them to track it, including setting up various accounts under false names, or the names of other people, that is money laundering -- and the penalties for money laundering are quite extensive. If you're money laundering, they don't simply send you a notice and ask you to pay it. They collect evidence of what you've done, get a court order and arrest your ass and throw it in jail ...
  12. Yeppers, just like a band-aid. Tear it off in one sudden (and terribly painful) ...  Wait, I'm not sure I like this analogy!
  13. Ah -- in Canada, the penalties are quite interesting: http://www.fintrac.gc.ca/pen/1-eng.asp
  14. What are you talking about? RuneScapers never read too much into things! If anything we arent looking outside the box ENOUGH!!! Perhaps the animation is meant to signify the dying breath of Aaron the Moor in Titus Andronicus (because it sounds a little bit like a robot name... Titan Androidicus) and because he mentions being muted. O, why should wrath be mute, and fury dumb? I am no baby, I, that with base prayers I should repent the evils I have done: Ten thousand worse than ever yet I did Would I perform, if I might have my will; If one good deed in all my life I did, I do repent it from my very soul. *snort*
  15. Some things you might want to consider......... As soon as anyone hits 18 they're tried in court as an adult. Referring to an 18 or 20 year old as a kid doesn't wash in court. The law judges you the same as if you were a 40 year old. Tax evasion in the UK and the US is one of the most 'jailable' offences. You're more likely to be jailed for tax evasion than murder. Ask Al Capone...well....if he was still alive. A few hundred thousand is very taxable. People have been hounded by the taxation systems in many countries for less. For example, not paying your monthly rates (poll tax) in the UK you are normally jailed for around a month to 6 weeks alone for a sum that can be as measly as £50 ($75). Govenments just won't tolerate it. Just to add to this, in most Western jurisdictions, anyone under 18 who commits an "adult" crime can be tried as an adult if the Courts deem that said individual had the capacity to determine what they were doing was wrong. Additionally, the tax rate on $200K "earned" in one year is huge. It is extremely unlikely that any taxing authority is simply going to look the other way when someone is making that kind of money and not paying taxes on it. Not to mention that spreading such cash around to various accounts only makes it look even more specious. Under today's "Proceeds of Crime" and "Anti-Terror" legislation, the government watches large sums of money (i.e. anything over $5,000.00) whenever it is being transferred around, no matter who's name it may happen to be in. Just sayin' ... If the person didn't claim the income on their tax return in 2013, they would be required to pay back taxes and a penalty when they got caught. The only reason they would be jailed would be if they failed to pay the taxes. Long story short, these kids/young adults lives will not be ruined... Um -- you may want to check your facts: Under the UK's Proceeds of Crime Act, 2002: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2002/29/section/334 You will find similar provisions under U.S. Law -- look it up under The Patriot Act -- and under Canada's The Proceeds of Crime (money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act. If what they're doing is considered "criminal", in that they received funds through an illegal operation, and then hid said funds in order not to claim the income therefrom, they're pretty much guilty under these laws and will be punished to the full extent of same.
  16. cuz calling them a newb is so mature.. lol. Just flat out ignore them. I keep forgetting that sarcasm doesn't cross through the interwebs. It's your own fault for not using the "sarcastica" font ...
  17. I think you're all reading way too much into a basic emote that's been in game since September 21, 2011 ...

  19. It's the "dramatic death" emote from the Citadel Theatre batch ... Still, it's a nice effect.
  20. This doesn't seem right ...
  21. Or while drunk? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXzwAXzUwwE Ok, maybe not THAT bad ...
  22. Why isn't this thread in suggestions?
  23. I hope they adjust the colour pallette for facework for those female players who choose to use something other than the caucasian skin tone. At present, in game, my face looks like I applied eye shadow and lipstick with a spatula ... <_<
  24. Seems like much ado about nothing, IMO ...
