  1. Just released an announcement regarding this. :) http://forum.tip.it/topic/276088-reminder-signatureavatar-hosting-malware-warnings/
  2. We've recently seen an increase in reports of people visiting our forums and getting malware warnings from browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome. These warnings are caused by signatures and images hosted externally on sites which these browsers consider potentially harmful. First of all, we'd like to stress that visiting a page containing images hosted on these sites does not put you at any extra risk. If you get such a warning, please use the report function so that we can remove the signature or avatar in question. Please note that this will not count as an official warning. We simply remove these signatures and avatars because of the inconvenience they cause to users. While we have no official rule about what sites can and can't be used to host your images, we strongly suggest using a dedicated image hosting site such as Imageshack or Photobucket. By using sites like these, you can prevent your signature and avatar from triggering malware warnings like the ones we have been getting. Thanks! Tip.It Staff PS: :)

He has to leave it as a tip as that is the point were it would violate the rules of the forum. Any more than that would have to be in a private conversation. :) Personal addition to the thread: Just be careful with torrents, many of them are untrustworthy. Many people just reinstall the trail version over and over again. :P
  4. The administrative team is going to leave it as is. It was actually lowered from 60 seconds -> 45 when we changed forum software. We have found this time setting to be the best so far. :)
  5. I'll bring it up with the admin team, odds are it will stay the same. The thing is, it has been perfected through years of staff watching the traits of the users. Sadly, the few bad ruin it for the few, it's there to prevent the REALLY bad users. :(
  6. At this point in time, it is only a tool for staff. The reason being is to prevent spam within the PM system. Is your friend on staff?
  7. But he could always of kept the admin title and just not bother to do anything? That's a great point. The thing is, we as admins tell staff that to remain staff, they have to keep active. I was going to be gone for the whole summer, and possibly permanently, so I decided to step down. Lead by example hopefully. :P
  8. Thanks everyone for the kind comments! For all those unkind, you can expect something in your inbox shortly. :P @ Goonstalf: I'm watching you. :ugeek: Jk. :)
  9. Very very interesting. :ugeek:
  10. I think each fan site has its own grove, it's all about finding the one that fits yours. :) I'm just glad Tip.It's is what it is. :) But ya, a graphical update would be nice, just so so so so much time and skill involved.
  11. Why not just leave the ranks default? I don't think its necessary to have both, kinda repetitive. Consistency though is a good thing. :)
  12. :P Congratulations! I'm sure you 2 will do a fantastic job. :) As far as, "who's that" comments, many well known mods today got the same comments in their announcements. :P
  13. What a load of crap.... I can't believe they would go do this after telling fansites they couldn't have ads with competitors.
  14. So much work goes on behind the scenes! It's great to get a thanks from the users. :)
  15. Fantastic choices! :) Do us proud lady and gents!
  16. If you want to go further back than the 40 pages, possibly just change the date range?

    That was awesome!
  18. Loose toilet seats, the scourge of the human male race.
  19. Well done guys! :) Know that was a lot of work behind the scenes. Big thanks to the mod/admin team. :)
  20. Hmm. My computer brought me strait back to this thread when I logged in. Win 7 here. Also, people replying stuff like that isn't flamebait, it's information for techs. :) Also, just maybe, if all of us are not having an issue, it might be showing that it is on your side.
  21. Btw, mods can't read every post on every thread, if you see personal attack, you need to report it. They may be viewing the thread, but that doesn't mean every post is being thoroughly read. I honestly don't know what to think about this, the offer is open to everyone, thus, it is sorta fair, but at the same time not to those who would literally have to pay 3000usd to go.... seems almost like they are encouraging one to buy a ticket just for the item, which is just UGH!

Wait... what is so special about 999.9? Fixed.
