Money making tips for this levels
Kill Green Dragons Range Avianses Do some barrows runs RC nats to 54, then laws Still loads more options.. Might be handy if you tell us what sort of thing you enjoy, or any other goals you have at the moment... As a starter, do you want it to be combat based or skill based money making? I'm assuming you've ruled out non-xp methods like collecting seconds for herblore/summoning.

Redirecting Elf Crystals
This. It also doesn't matter how many crystals you have with you, I had a full inv of uncharged crystals, did the enchant option first then spoke to her normally and added the temple of light option.

RC Questions
I'll try it and see how I go =) Ta Edit: does that mean you only take 10 ess in your giant pouch rather than 12? Otherwise you have to bank/craft the same amount of times as if you were carrying the small pouch anyway...

RC Questions
1. Approx 2k/hour if you're quick. Realistically taking into account distractions, mistakes etc. probably nearer 1800 2. 1600-1700 or nearer 1500 with distractions 3. 1800-2000 or nearer 1700 with distractions 4. Yes Note: I've given what I consider to be realistic numbers per hour. I personally know several guys who can craft CONSISTENTLY above these rates, but there aren't that many. The key is consistency, my record through the abyss (with all 4 pouches but no familiar) is 2300 in an hour - during that hour I made near perfect runs each time, had all chat off and had practised several techniques to find the quickest.. I've also heard of people that can craft 3k plus/hr using the graahk method, but I've not seen anyone do it consistently i.e. hour after hour. Consistently I do 2k/hr using all 4 pouches and the graahk. PS. You shouldn't need super energies

How long does it take to get 99 RuneCrafting from 44?
OK, I'll answer in a non Debbie-Downer way... I actually enjoy runecrafting (one of the very few!) and regularly go through phases of doing nothing but Runecrafting for 4hrs a day 6 days a week. At times I've played more, and about 20 months ago I started racing a couple of good friends from TIF to 91 RC, I was level 82 at the time. I probably rc'd about 6hrs a day, 7 days a week, all through the abyss. Remember, this is a skill that I genuinely enjoy... I got to level 88 before I started drifting on to Slayer tasks and doing other things in the game, and not long after I just stopped playing. Note, I didn't quit, I never planned to stop playing, nothing major happened IRL to prevent me playing, I just drifted off. Looking back I think I just burned myself out by doing nothing but rc'ing. I started playing again about 2 months ago and from level 88 I finally got my level 91 a month ago, and I'm now 92 (sig needs updating =). I would estimate that getting this far has probably taken the best part of 12 months doing 3-4 hours of rc'ing a day - it is only an estimate as I obviously didn't just sit down and do it in one go. Granted I didn't use the ZMI as it wasn't available, but even so RC is a tremendously slow skill, which requires a lot of concentration to get even semi-decent xp/hour. Level 92 is just about HALF WAY to 99 rc, which is why the majority of people have responded to your question as they have done. ^ Sorry for the life history, but I wanted to give you an idea of what you're asking and why the responses are "Don't even try". Realistically, if you could bear it... If you play for 6 hours per day, every single day for the next 6 months doing nothing but rc'ing through the ZMI (and I mean nothing - talking to friends, particularly in cc slows you down) you won't be far off 99rc. On the other hand, you will also have wasted levels 91-99 by not doing double nats via graahk method, but you can probably add another month to the estimate to do it this way..

Runecrafting tips
In terms of pure xp, if you're doing it well, Joe is right smoke or lava runes are quickest. They are however a bit more fiddly as you have to cast imbue at the right time, bring binding necklace etc. Easy enough if you're concentrating but making mistakes can seriously impact the xp/hour. Personally I'd recommend ZMI if you're not worried about cost, at 42rc you will lose money through ZMI but you should consistently be getting 30-40k xp/hour

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
hmm, wouldn't you be proud if you had the rarest skillcape that can make you lots of money? I don't think WoodenFruit was mocking anyone, merely enthusiastically highlighting his/her 99 herby achievement :)

Dragon Pick worth it?
I'm not sure what further assistance you're expecting? I haven't mined for months, never seen a d pick in game and yet from the comments above I can discern that: 1. Current price is quite a lot higher than the price at which it will settle (expected to be similar to d-hatchet) 2. If you're serious about mining it is worth getting the best pick available irrespective of cost 3. It is 5-10% better than a rune pick 4. It is still a high demand object so there will be no problem in selling it 5. It's not worth it if you're only planning to mine concentrated ore If that's not enough information for you to make your mind up, I suggest testing it out yourself. I think he was (and I am) particularly interested in the fifth thing you said. But was that conclusion just deduced from the above? because I don't know of any proof that rune pick and dragon pick are equal on concentrated ore. Can someone point the way to this proof? The conclusion was just deduced from the comments above.. I have no personal experience of mining concentrated ores. Therefore if the comments above are not conclusive or there's some debate still, then I guess that's what needs further comment and/or the OP to test out.

Impetuous Impulses
^ this. It's also strange that once they have planned everything out so carefully, spent months developing and QA'ing, and implemented with a big fanfare, that they might then back it out within 48hrs due to "player feedback" is incredulous.

Found a smoking mils interview
Ooh, someone who wants to argue, fantastic... Your first assumption would be at least somewhat factual if the Grand Exchange prices were only relevant to Grand Exchange transactions. However, the prices set for the Grand Exchange also determine the prices for non- Grand Exchange transactions; thus, manipulation of the Grand Exchange pertains to transactions as a whole. I maybe didn't phrase that very well, my point was don't buy the item at all (rather than simply don't buy from the GE).. If you want prayer pots, farm ranarrs, pick up the snape grass and mix the potion. You do have a choice because all the elements are available. If you can't get ranarr seeds, kill abby specs or druids etc. A prayer pot as an example has a value to each player individually, there's a point when it is more cost efficient to collect the ingredients and make it yourself. How was my point in anyway arrogant? The "blatant manipulation of the Grand Exchange's flaws" does not interfere with a person's ability to complete other tasks and goals, because, guess what, you *choose* to use it for convenience. It might very well impact the efficiency of that approach (e.g. collecting seconds as opposed to buying them, but hey, that's the *choice* you make). I love it when people try and apply ridiculous examples from real life.. Yes parallels can be drawn in some cases but really, your example is just absurd. In real life, food has an inelastic demand, in other words, it is an essential, so you're correct, people wouldn't just stop buying food. However, in Real Life, it is also a lot more difficult for people to suddenly grow their own vegetables and raise their own livestock for food. Check this out though, since RS is a game, these options are happily available to you and thus if you don't want to pay 1.5k ea for shark you can catch and cook your own. First of all, refrain from double negatives. It makes it a chore to read and understand your post. I agree it's probably not the most eloquent of sentences, but it can't be that hard to understand, as you seem to have managed it... You seem to be missing the point. All transactions would not need to be shut down at all; players simply *choose* not to buy an item that is being actively manipulated by a clan. Yes I agree, that might be inconvenient, and yes, I also agree that in an ideal world such an inconvenience wouldn't exist, however by suffering through this inconvenience the "few" that you refer to do not benefit, therfore, in time it might be possible to expel this unwanted faction. Players are already experiencing the consequences by paying 2 or 3 times more than the (non manipulated) market price for an item. Agreed, but that's something completely different. Cool we agree :) Edit: fixed some quote tags

Found a smoking mils interview
Actually, just had a further thought regarding communities acting together collectively. *IF* someone were able to organise a large enough group of players willing to co-operate as a 'supply clan' then merchant clans could very quickly be put out of business.. Not only that but the 'supply clan' would profit in the process... My theory is based on the fact (as I mentioned above) that there is very little in RS that can not be collected or created. As such, a 'supply clan' would work in response to merchant clans through identifying the next item to be merched and simply supplying en masse. E.g. If dragon bones were identified by the merch clan then the message goes out to the supply clan to collect and supply (sell) d bones at GE maximum until orders are no longer fulfilled, then drop to supply at GE mid etc. Obviously it is a lot easier to buy in high volume than supply (since it's a lot quicker to click 'buy' on GE than go out killing dragons), but on the other hand, the "non merch" community is significantly bigger than the merch clans. Further to the above, in order for this to really work, it would be necessary to really control the avalanche of supply. The reason for this is to counteract a merch clan taking advantage of massive supply by falsely identifying items with a view to artificially lowering the price. The best way of doing this easily would be for 'supply clan' members to sell only between GE Max and GE mid (thereby not lowering a price). The benefits of such a clan would actually be surprisingly good, particularly for skillers: 1. Profit on items that are rising fast 2. Residual items from over supply could/should be kept for future merch attempts or used in skilling 3. Providing economic balance for the good of the game (should give a nice warm fuzzy feeling =) So, any TIF'ers fancy the challenge?

Found a smoking mils interview
Meh. Nothing special in the interview. What a lot of people who complain about the merch clans seem to forget is that you don't *have* to buy an item that is being merched... In fact, you don't *have* to use the GE fullstop. Sure it's convenient, but if you see something going up uncharacteristically fast or way above it's usual level don't buy it - simples. If there is no demand from the "average joe" then there is no profit for the merch clans. There's practically nothing in RS that can't be collected/created or substituted if you haven't the levels or can't find someone to assist. The reason that merch clans have any success is that they are able to act as a collective. If the rest of RS players acted in a similarly collective manner it would take all of about a week to put all merch clans out of business. As an aside, pre-GE merchants (IMO) did at least provide a function, usually by collecting small quantities of items together and then selling large quantities at higher prices. Personally, back at that time I was more than happy to pay 40ea for 50k essence as opposed to buying in batches of 100 - 1,000 for 25ea..

Leaked picture of a new rs interface?
To be honest, I'd be more inclined to think it was fake if it *didn't* have spelling/grammar errors, look how many completed developments make it into the game with these sorts of errors. I can quite easily believe this is a screenshot of something in development. I'd also say it's actually quite in-keeping with the general style of RS. There are also similarities between the style in the screeny and say, the end of game notice at Stealing Creation. My vote therefore is that this is real.

Summoning Training Order
Generally speaking I've found it's best to use the lower (gold) charms first and progress in order as if you gain any levels you're likely to unlock better xp pouches for use with the higher level charms. e.g. if you have enough charms to get to 79 without using your blues, you'll then be able to use the blues to create moss titans which are a better use of your blues than say an Addy Minotaur.

Dwarf battlefield
Yes, it makes you look so cool to have two word posts, you certainly are a clever one. Thanks for the other replies, I guess I've never been able to last long enough for the aggression to time out. To be fair, though that might not have been the answer you were looking for, it is the best advice... Summoning helps with almost every scenario in the game. I'm sure you have your reasons for not levelling it, but you're missing out on a heap of benefits by not doing so.

Best profit for rcing after lvl 82
Astral runes are indeed the best money maker uner 91rc. Currently 273ea (mid) so double astrals results in 546gp return per pure essence crafted. Close second is Deaths which are currently 454ea (mid) but are obviously higher xp per trip. I've found Astral crafting is quicker than going through the abyss, but not sufficiently to make up for the difference in xp per ess crafted. At current prices though Astral crafting is definitely the better option for cash. When you repair your pouches through the abyss make sure you remember to craft deaths then!

Solo KBD?
Ages since I've been personally so I don't know whether it's accurate, but I'd guess that the reason people think it uses magic is that the tip.it bestiary suggests pray protect mage...

Runecrafting
To add to the answers that have been given above, the xp/hr and profit/hr figures are highly dependent on how much concentration you're willing to apply to the task.. E.g. Abyss - my personal record using all pouches and a lurker is just over 2700 ess crafted in an hour, but I know guys who can do over 3k.. Normally though when going through the abyss I AVERAGE around 2000 ess per hour, this takes into account things like, mis-clicks, forgetting to repair a pouch, not filling a pouch properly, talking in cc etc.. so for me personally, using deaths as the example, my xp/hr could be as high as 27k/hr, but on average it's actually closer to 20k/hr. (Incidentally that would make the profit 514k/hr at current mid-lvl prices) ZMI is even more variable since it depends on what runes are crafted, again, I personally tend to AVERAGE around 35k xp/hr but a lot higher is possible (I believe upto around 45k/hr though personally I've not timed myself on this). Bloods aren't currently worth it, since they're cheaper than deaths. I actually find I do get a bit more xp per hour with bloods despite the extra steps, but not enough to make it more enticing given current prices.

Tip.it Times 18 October 2009
Both good articles on relevant topics - good stuff. Regarding the PvP proposals made by TS Stormrage, I'd agree totally with the drop being reduced to 0-200% of what your opponent is carrying. My initial reaction was it should actually only go up to 100%, but on reflection I think you need to make up for the occasions that the drop is 0 so 200% feels about right. Personally I think I'd take gp out of the equation as well.. I don't recall any genuine pkers carrying around vast chunks of cash when pk'ing prior to all the updates! Regarding the pure essence proposal I'm not sure it would work. As an active runecrafter, I'd love to see it happen, but can't see that it could be re-introduced in the manner you suggest. Announcing the intention to merge the two again would simply cause the crash to take place at the point the announcement is made, even if an arbitrary price is in place at the time of the introduction as you suggest. (If I expect the price to be 120gp in 2 weeks time, then I'll only buy at that price now, or wait for the 2 weeks, unless my desire/need increases in urgency at which point I may be prepared to pay above the stated 120 but still way below the current levels). The only way I could see this working would be to offer an exchange whereby pure essence could be traded in for multiple regular essence based on current value (e.g. If today's values are 225gp Pure Essence and 75gp Regular Essence, for every pure essence I trade, I get 3 regular essence in return). At the same time as introducing this exchange the price is temporarily frozen on the GE and Pure Essence is totally removed from all trade bar the exchange point - the exchange could even be automated and take place in players bank accounts without the need to visit an exchange point. Even introducing this measure, I see no way that the price will return to the pre-merge price of 25-40ea since this price was artificially low due to the number of bots that mined essence.

Whip prices?
chessy bought 1k whips thats when they went from 1.6 something to 3m+ if she decides to sell them i think they will seriously crash 1k whips wouldn't even get close to changing the market price... Unless they were all dumped at min price on the same day, which would be pretty daft.
