  1. Berserker, Neitznot helm, or Barrows helm. Plenty of noob jobs pay ~200-300K an hour. That means 3M is 10-15 hours of work, or about 2 weeks. If you don't know any P2P noob jobs that pay 200-300K an hour, you're probably wasting your membership money, because there are LOTS of ways to do it.
  2. Wait til you take AP history, you'll be amazed at how much the general public is manipulated by the people in power :D FDR and his "fireside chats" Eisenhower and his friendly "Ike" facade (4-star generals arent nice guys!) Jackson and Jacksonian democracy for the "common man" APUSHistory study and RS rolled into one, beautiful
  3. Refer to my edit on the main page. I will also copy paste the following rebuttal into my original post. From a business standpoint (and Jagex definitely thinks this way, or else Andrew isn't one of the top 100 richest young British people), newer players are more easily enticed to play a game if it has better graphics. If you look at the monsters being updated - sheeps, cows, goblins - the majority of them are around Lumby, where noobs start. The undead even count as part of this - the changes to ghosts and zombies can be seen in Varrock sewer as well as the Stronghold of Security, two major F2P training spots. When would a noob EVER see the KQ? Probably never - so updating the KQ just for the sake of graphics doesn't really make sense for Jagex, businesswise. You could probably argue that it would make P2P more exciting, but we already have even more exciting opponents such as Barrows or Jad. Jagex pours manpower and money into its updates. Don't be naive enough to think that Jagex just wants to improve the game!
  4. Jagex humor strikes again.
  5. Frogs, bankers, men, knights, dragons, guards, Chaos E..? We see those things 30x more than we see the KQ. And how many times have people actually been motivated to fight these NPCs after the update? Maybe for one or two days there would be a small surge of, for example, guard drops when they are updated, but to be honest the killing rate steadies out to be the same like before the update. Now if jagex were to update an NPCs drops, making them better, it would be a different story. But bottom line, graphics updates do not affect the kill rate. Show me the statistics \ The IMMEDIATE purpose of the update was NOT to increase the number of KQ killers. The immediate purpose of the update was to increase interest in the KQ so that KQ killing would go up over a long period of time.

  7. Happened to my partner too. Then I decided to solo KQ for a while, had Full Verac + Verac Helm (his) + Verac Flail (his). I teled when I ran out of sharks at 20 HP :D
  8. MODS: Feel free to lock or move this post. I don't want my post to become a flame war. I have discussed this before but the BTS article sparks my attention. We have, over the past year or so, seen some rather "small" updates that have to deal with D Chains. 1) MADO (moving across distance orb) and the Kalphite shortcut in Dorgeskaan. 2) BA and the introduction of a 3rd way to get D Chains. 3) Keris and its special effect on bugs, even hitting through KQ's prayer. 4) (Way back) Fairy ring and the BIQ fairy ring provides another quick way to get to the KQ And now Jagex introduces a fifth update, the graphical changes to the KQ. This update probably intends to renew interest in the KQ and KQ hunting, leading to the infusion of more dragon chains into the economy and pushing down prices. Why would Jagex be pushing down Dragon Chain prices? Here are some possible explanations. 1) Making the Dragon Chain more accessible to noob/lower(middle) leveled players. I see plenty of noobs wearing DMed (which is a horrible waste of money) and DLegs. 3M isn't that bad for a noob to try to get. Lets say Chain prices drop to 5M - another thing for noobs to work for. 2) As a precursor to the introduction of DPlate (so that people aren't too economically disturbed by the introduction of the item). In this case the purpose would be to produce an effect on rares similar to 3rd age. 3) Reintroduce KQ as a thing to hunt for hobby  If you don't agree with my explanations, then provide a reason why Jagex would take hours to write this graphics update, almost specifically for the KQ. (see below for rationale on why KQ is emphasized). From a business standpoint (and Jagex definitely thinks this way, or else Andrew isn't one of the top 100 richest young British people), newer players are more easily enticed to play a game if it has better graphics. You could probably argue that it would make P2P more exciting, but we already have even more exciting opponents such as Barrows or Jad. Oh Jagex. Becoming ever more subtle =D> Discuss! ----- Here is some evidence that Jagex intends to call the KQ to the public's attention: 1) Best looking graphics, boy that makes me excited about the KQ. 2) Notice how they talk about KQ graphics before they talk about bugs in general. 3) Inviting people to go to the KQ.
  9. I feel sorry for F2P. Their beloved noob city will be sieged by Barragers and Werewolves... *Majarrat hits 30 x 9* *Out of 100 mages, 1 hits Majarrat because of wonderful +10 Mage attack*
  10. Quick notes, and then history time! Keep in mind i'm building on the ideas of others \ Bracelet of combat: Warriors': Burthrope for recharging Glories, slayer task changes. Champions': Varrock and Lumby (via canoes :)) Ranging Guild: Seer's Monastery: Prayer restore, cabbage accessibility, body crafting Necklace of skills: Fishing: Farming, fishing, Seer's, Ardougne Mining: Fally Crafting: No particular use Cooking Guild: Varrock Both of the teleport sets are quite important. I'd get 3 or 4 of both :)
  11. Afk fishing ftw. Just checking up on this post.. but.. You can't AFK 100%, or else that's against the rules. Even training with guthans at bandits requires SOME attention. And when you're trying to memorize 1,000+ facts for a test, even that little bit of attention distracts you a whole lot. Off topic: Bracelet update is sweet. The new dstone jewelry are basically city teleports (Varrock = cooking/champion, Ardy = fishing, Fally = mining, Lumby = champion and then boat to Lumb) In reply to some others: I have horrible self control. Ways to cure an addiction are multiple: take it cold turkey, or the "smart way": reduce chances to get hooked on it in the first place.
  12. LUNAR or ANCIENTS :) (no home tele there)
  13. RS is fun, I have to admit. But I can't let it get in the way of schoolwork. Solution? Quitting temporarily. How? Go to fairy ring AIR on lunar or ancients. Drop your dramen staff. Unless you call your friends to give you teleport runes or teleport items, you can't get off the island! As long as your friends won't let you play - you can't! I'm going to AIR right now, I'll be back in 3 weeks - maybe I'll need some of your guys' help to get back o_o.
  14. 1) Jagex has to handle way too many ban reports (for gosh's sake a level 114 reported me for sarcasm) to have an efficient ban system. Result is that new autos can constantly find ways to get around the system. 2) Autoers are horrible for the RS economy. They lead to inflation. Take, for example, Yew autoers - with the number of yew longs they introduce, you're probably increasing the amount of GP in the economy by 50%+ every year (assuming that the longs will be alched). What does this lead to? Everyone becoming rich, high-level armors becoming useless, and the only "desirables" (rares and 3A) shooting over 100M. We see these symptoms today - and it's bad, because level 75s have whips and can actually hit through my 88 defense. Please, I really hate it when people act like they're "smart" - in reality there are always people smarter than us. Nats were 500ea back in the day. And high number of crafters --> high supply --> competition --> lower prices. Nats are stable around 200-300 because they will always cost more than chaos (whose price is regulated by stores), and have ties to alchemy values, which are permanent.
  15. You gotta turn off Private chat whenever you're PCing. Otherwise you leak worlds. I usually forget to turn it back on
  16. I've never lost more than 100K in a death. Why? I use ring of life, and I always carry disposables (never my Guthans! or Fury when I also have a whip in invent) when I train against something that can hit above the ring of life safety mark (10% of 90 HP = 9 HP) I should probably start whipping out my good items... armor's getting cheap nowadays (just bought another Guthan plate for 675K)
  17. Bought Red PHat for 30K (and then lost it via scam)
  18. This thread is getting to be rather pointless. So here I will suggest some combinations of Barrows. 1) PseudoTank Ranging/Balanced Defense (used in Muggi's famous FireCaping Guide) V/T/G Helm K Top V/T/D Legs You get the defense of full rune, +60 mage defense, and +20 range attack. 2) PseudoTank Maging, 1 (good for ModernMagevMelee) V/T/G Helm A Top V/T/D Legs You get the defense of full rune, +140 range defense, and a neutral mage attack (which isn't bad, considering melee armor can't defend against mage anyway). :-k
  19. This is what slows down PC worlds. People suggesting the worlds on IRC channels. Having your friend's list on doesn't effect the worlds as much as you would think. Neither does posting a thread about the World Monitor. A lot of people use Tip.it, but it's not everybody. I remember when someone posted how to get cheaper furys by selling 33k chaos to the store, yet that hasn't dropped the price of furys in the game. What about that time Me, Muggi, and Trojann increased the price of Chins from 200 to 700 and made Range a money skill?
  20. 1) I might go into staking, so I need to keep my level as low as possible. 2) I am getting an untrimmed 99 hits and intend to keep the cape untrimmed.
  21. What about friends, community, and having fun?
  22. Now if only I could find a teammate to DK with me
  23. 1) --- 2) Money isn't your accomplishment, it's what you do with the money. I could make people dance around in lumbridge for all I care, if I offer them 10K each. You can't do that with skills. 3) I will bet you 1M that I get more recognized with my white party hat and full dragon rather than one of the top 1000 Skillers. Come on, how many skillers get the recognition that Zezima gets? 4) Helping your friends is a big plus. 5) So you can have a social life and school life outside of RS :) By the way, if you get hacked there's a chance that you might not have your account at all.. Touche my good man
  24. If only there was such a thing. It's guys like you who haven't played even 5 PC games that are really pathetic. Incase you don't know (which I'm sure you don't), PC is not fast, free exp. You do not get 500k exp/hour, or even 200k. You are lucky to get 100-120K/hour with stats in the 90s (and with a 100+ clan like HU). With stats in the 70s and 80s, this number is probably more like 80-90k/hour. This number is only slightly smaller than training at ankous or giant skeletons, since you get very little HP exp at PC. So the next time you decide to make a fool of yourself by calling someone a "PC product", perhaps you should consider the fact that they still put a lot of effort into getting that 120 combat. But what do you know? Your highest combat stat is an 82. Also, I see that you're one of those pure noobs, which I can almost guarantee that at least some of your exp was from PC. Hypocrite. Don't be so critical \ He's wrong already, there's no point in beating that to the ground. We high levels (aka "PC product" for those of you who don't have the patience to train high level) definitely can do something about it: change worlds faster than you can read the chart . It takes ~20 minutes on a world to read the chart effectively, we just change worlds every 20 minutes. Not THAT inconvenient.
  25. I am going for one of the following stat combinations: Setup 1) 97 Att 92 Str 97 Def 99 Hits 60 Pray 117 Cb Setup 2) 97 Att 97 Str 90 Def 99 Hits 60 Pray 117 Cb Note that the only difference between the two is that the first setup has 92 Str/97 Def and the second one has 97 Str/90 Def. Which one would you suggest and why? Here is my opinion: 1) High def, high attack are good for high-level battles, i.e. PvP and combat versus level 200+ monsters. The -5 strength compared to setup 2 can be made up by buying a zerker ring. 2) The -7 defense compared to setup 1 can be made up using pots, or better armor.
