  1. No. I expect people to cook food without lit logs. That's how pro we are :geek:
  2. thats good to hear. is prom 2h really > primal baxe now that quickswitch is available?
  3. Max hits? With diamond, 516 so far Havent tested dragon It's more the fact that it's pretty accurate than the damage. i've been beating tribrids, regular melee noobs. etc....
  4. 20% range pray + void deflector + chaotic crossbow RIPS.
  5. skinweavers don't actually net you that much extra health... their main benefit is being able to heal more in one attack turn (scroll + boosted normal heal)
  6. This line of argument frustrates me. If I went into a medium dungeon right now and tried to rely on food and prayer alone, I'd die within ten rooms. Goodness knows how much that tactic would fail with my defence level on a large floor, although I'll confess I've never been on one, I know it's twice as large as medium. At level 76 defence, my combat stats can hardly be considered 'low' in the context of everyone who plays RuneScape (ranked 520K out of several million accounts, in the top 30% at worst). Racheya touched on this in her article a couple of weeks ago, and she was shouted down for not knowing any better, but the inconvenient truth is not everyone has 99 defence/HP, nor should they to enjoy dungeoneering without being told they 'SUCK'. Some people have to make armour to survive in dung without dying. Suck it up, go form a clan where making armour is banned. Otherwise, don't expect some stranger you've never spoken to before from w117 to conform to your exacting standards. Making armor involves finding at least five bars, which you need to find the ore for. If you can't find ores you need to find a lot of money (which could have been spent on an altar, something that benefits the entire team.) Making armor costs valuable time which could have been spent killing npcs in a gd. Stone was harsh but true. Completely agree. The only skilling that I approve of are: -- Fishing -- Making bloodragers for boss -- Making strong melees
  7. "Since our members make excellent beta testers, we've decided to give everyone back their dungeoneering tokens, equal to 1/10 their current XP". No... a much easier way of doing this would be to implement some way of trading in items and getting tokens back. For example, a generic code for selling back a CLS would be: if (player uses a CLS on rewards trader) { tokens = 200000; degradeMod = (item.getDegrade() - 20)*20000; tokens += degradeMod; player.tokens += tokens; item.destroy; } I agree with a trade-in option. However, if I understand your code, a player could create tokens by charging their items... The code isnt meant to be rigorous, just an outline. Also i totally forgot that using items on rewards traders makes him repair it... hahah oops.
  8. Language/QC failures Maybe they meant that the curse words we will be screaming at their company will be 5% louder. Yeah but they don't really listen to us our curse "effects" are still 0. Actually, I guess 105% of 0 is still 0, so they're not lying...

  10. Jagex should probably introduce some sort of one-time refund for rweards, like with the kinship rings. Language/QC failures
  11. just wasted 40k tokens... at least I have no need to buy rigour or augury anymore
  12. A very generous estimate for the amount of money you'll save with that necklace is 5 prayer pots per hour, or about 30k gp. Which is nothing at ALL compared to the offense you're losing out on without a glory/fury. To make the most of it you would wear Fury while fighting and put the other on as the monster was about to die. I will buy it just because it's the highest level reward, but I doubt I'll ever use it. At the moment the only thing on my list from the NEW rewards is the pet, rofl. I am wondering, though - Farseer Kiteshield >/< Celestial Surgebox? ^ Doing something like that requires way too much attention... In general, FKS >> CSB, even if CSB has a damage boost. The defense and accuracy boost of FKS far outweighs a 5-7% damage boost. EDIT: AOZ ONLY WORKS WITH MODERN BOOK. FAIL.
  13. So apparently the in-game description, the KB, and the actual function are all totally different? quality control ftw
  14. In terms of cost, 1 ppoint = : I dose ppot ~2K = 30 prayer points 70 GP each. Very little savings in terms of actual cost... Plus in cases where you need the thing (i.e. slayer), you have enough inventory space that it's just a matter of bringing a few ppots
  15. Oh are you talking about a range ammy? Very few tribrids use range ammy, fury is better i think Fury is +10, Aoz is +2; difference is +8. Who knows. I'll probably get one and try it out, but my gut instinct tells me 5% ranged/5% def > 8 ranged bonus, 15 def bonus
  16. yes, this is exactly why i don't think a floor-by-floor peer review system is good. it's also why i advocate the system to make perm teams rather than teams for individual floors.
  17. Safe PvP is the only place where real tribriding takes place. good safe-pvp tribrids demolish mage/melee hybrids... i have plenty of experience with this :P And no, soul split absolutely DEMOLISHES in hybriding. Even if moderns could beat leeches (which they usually don't), the fact that you're losing SS makes a huge difference. And it's only 8 ranged attack difference. ^ Disappointing surgebox stats.
  18. your PvMness is showing through :P no good hybrid uses modern prayers... it apparently does work for curses: EDIT from RSOFL: Looks good to me then. New best ranged hybrid ammy
  19. Problem is, if this gets popular, you need a lot of people to do test runs. That's why I'd prefer a peer based review system, where people can rate how you did, and how fast your dungeons were. I'm starting to really hope this system is implemented into tipit. I totally agree; the practicality of test runs is a huge issue. we can work that out later. peer review system requires too much input from the user's perspectives... the only time people would really care enough to rate others would be if they were mad at the rest of the team, if someone was REALLY abysmal, or if they wanted to troll others.
  20. Meh, even when you consider no str bonus, low att bonus, no def bonus, and -8 prayer? If it is better, it won't be by much. For hybriding with ranged, the only thing you care about is -15 defense and -8 ranged. Prayer bonus is pretty irrelevant. But I'd think that a 5% boost to defense and ranged attack is worth much more than that. And a good hybrid would obviously carry other amulets to switch to, such as arcstream/fury/strength/glory.
  21. CC's fail in general because there's nothing preventing unranked people from using it, unless you were to make it totally closed. Anything that involves exclusion in the long run will become contaminated
  22. I really don't think AoZ is a waste. If the 5% boost applies to individual prayers, it's the best amulet for hybriding with ranged. It also kind of makes rigour useless if you don't need the defense boost.
  23. Another thing we could do is to, like DGE has (had?), do test runs with new people. Once this happens they can get a star or something to denote that they've been tested Maybe a really low one, like 50-60 DG. The point isn't to exclude people, it's to have them be able to find reliable perm teams and to have a resource to learn DG from.
  24. Sounds like a great idea... TO THE STAFF: Does anyone on the staff know SQL/MySQL/ database programming? If so, I'd definitely like to work with that person(s) to develop a website that auto-pairs people for perm teams. The reason I'm advocating perm teams is that this lets players get to know each other, as well has have a sense of responsibility to the group. The other alternative is just to have a DG rating system where you could rate a teammate's performance. The problem with this is that teammates can rate you poorly for personal reasons, and from a usability perspective this requires way too much overhead for individuals. WHAT THIS WOULD ENTAIL: -- take data from the adventurer's log to automatically get a player's levels -- develop an algorithm to auto-pair by skill levels, combat levels, dg levels, etc -- have a system for kicking people off teams -- have a system of setting up a regular schedule for DG (possible integration with google calendar) -- have a system of communication between team members -- have a way of recording feedback for or against specific keyers
  25. When you safespot while tribrid, switching staff, necklace and shield shouldn't be a major worry. it's not a matter of the switch, it's a matter of sustaining extra damage from spinys for the times you do rex. iunno how significant that is, though. your real inventory savings are only 2 slots though; you save 3, but you lose one because you have to bring an additional shield. anti-poison totem also saves you at least 2 slots, so the inventory-saving aspect of surgebox isn't that significant... Though if the damage increase is significant, like 5%, then i'd reconsider.
