Bullies beat on weaker people to satisfy an urge to feel superior; by that logic, I'd be crashing people for fun, which I don't. I crash because it speeds up my trips. There's a difference between being malicious and being coldly rational.
-
If a boss hates you and someone applies to your position, chances are you'll probably get fired and replaced. This actually happened in the lab I worked in this summer. You kind of missed the main point I was bringing up - Jobs are a similar commodity as monster spawns.
-
Actually, yes this is an analogy I want to make. When you go to look for a job, does it matter who got there first? Not really. All the company really cares about is hiring the most capable person for the job. They don't really care who got there first. But how many people feel bad when they get a job? Not many. Most celebrate, actually. Ironically, you've "taken" something much more precious than a monster spawn from someone though. Maybe that person can get no other job. Maybe that person really needs this job and needs to feed his family. And you don't feel remorse, do you? Part of the reason you don't feel bad is because you'll probably never end up seeing the person again. That same logic applies to MMO's. It's just that instead of not seeing them at all, you see their avatar once on a computer screen. So really, what's the difference? All it really boils down to is your expectation of how other people should treat you in that context. For the dog-eat-dog world out there, you have to claim a stake for your own. That doesn't mean I'm purposely trying to be an ass. If you talk to me in real life or even in game I'm generally pretty amicable - but whatever, there isn't a way to prove that and you won't really know. But just don't stand in my way when I really want something.

TIME TO GO DUNGEONEERING Looks like I'll be getting 90+ after all. Also looks like I'll have to start changing my guide <_< . Just after I finished writing most of it ....
-
I crash at TD's because I need to use two spawns at once for my method. If I were a standard Yak/Uni kind of TD'er there's absolutely no reason to crash. But most of the time it's pretty hard to find a totally empty TD world - so I hop around a bit until I find one. But if I don't, and I come across a world where a person is only using one spawn, then I crash. This is a good point. Even as a lower level there are plenty of ways to make 1M+ an hour. But a lot of people don't take the time to research and find those ways. Getting hired by a company takes someone else's job. It surely hurts them more than crashing a monster spawn in a silly MMO. If I could, I'd probably share the job if we could get equal pay. But we don't. And I don't know of anyone who feels remorse when they take a job.

Looks like potentially a new bow and new boots Im pretty sure the player is wearing the holy ranger gear

The problem with this is that it isn't very practical. Alching Sagg arrows is a more effective means of getting money. If youre doing this during a large, you should probably be kicked from your team (no offense). If youre doing this by yourself, why dont you just train RC normally?

How hard is it to get a 2H -_-

If youre below 80 DG don't go to w77. Youll be laughed at.

GET A HOOD GET A HOOD GET A HOOD -- Pro DG teams look at you as a noob without them -- You get dealt a LOT less damage than with a plate, even with all of the restrictions. This is just out of personal experience, and I'm 88 DG. -- On good teams youll be the only scrub without a hood and then youll get hit by everything and end up as meatshield -- As a nonkeyer allows you to kill monsters in a GD in a specific order that saves you food (kill non-hood-safe monsters first, and then hood-safe monsters second) -- Is almost necessary as a keyer if you don't want to have to run to your team for food all the time T8 Zerker isn't useless - You should always use zerker unless you're at a ranging boss or if youre keyer (I advise T6+ tank if youre keys)
-
How do you know the person didnt try to hop? There's very little way of knowing. Also, at places like DK's and Bandos you can almost bet on every single world being full during peak hours. Once you've done enough of those, you'll know what I mean. For smaller things like slayer where there isn't really a reason to crash, I'd totally agree with you
-
Mostly true, except like someone said earlier in this thread, the degree to which the monsters scale in difficulty is marginal compared to the difference in strength between a maxed/turm player and a lower leveled one. The main point I want to emphasize is that any good DG'er - the pros - won't recognize you as a viable teammate unless you have maxed melee at the very least. Sounds kind of harsh, but when you want to DG with good people it's what they expect.
-
Another interesting idea would be to make the boss have a better droprate if you're CSing or LSing. Granted, the boss would also have to be as hard to fight in a group as solo.

Worst logic ever, especially when you consider the fact that the majority of monsters in Runescape aren't in multi-combat. All GWD, DK's, KBD, even corp are in multicombat... Only single-combat is like Barrows lol. And? Once again I point out to you that the majority of monsters aren't in multi-combat. What's your point? [/hide] Someone who has raised their combat stats to kill mithril dragons didn't raise their combat stats to crash anyone, nor did crashing anyone have anything to do with their decision to raise their combat stats. The majority of monsters in RS are single combat. But what about boss hunting? Like I pointed out, all major bosses are multicombat. And if you're maxed melee and killing mith dragons not as a slayer task, you're probably doing something wrong. Wait, what? It was bad enough that your argument was somehow predicated on the faulty notion that people get higher levels and better armor/weapons to crash people (the fact that not everyone crashes, and not everyone goes to multi-combat areas renders that notion decidedly false), but now you're assuming that the purpose of getting high stats is to fight certain boss monsters? Anyway, what about boss hunting? You've yet to prove that the purpose of getting better equipment and stats is the crash someone. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the reason you can't prove it is because it's not true, and is something you have merely assumed to be true for the purpose of your rant. I really hate to get in a long flamey thread chain, but I kind of feel compelled to respond. I didn't explicitly say that the exclusive purpose to get better stats/equipment is solely to MH. People get armor / stats to show off, for the feeling of accomplishment, and a lot of other things. What I did say is that some people (like me) did in fact train solely to MH. And when I'm monster hunting, I claim my stake in spawns that I want because I worked for it. You may want my spawn, and I'd give it to you if I felt like you earned it - but until you have, don't complain. Take heed at the fact that I didn't say that you said that the only reason people raised their stats or got better equipment was to MH. Anyway, thank you for proving my point. Your "part of the reason - incentive, even - of getting better equipment and stats is earning the right to crash people" line was in error, because crashing plays no part in the majority of the Runescape population's decision to level up or to obtain better items. As it stands, you can't really justify anything you've typed out except to say that you think that you have more of a right to kill some monster then someone else because you've got better equipment/stats then they do which, quite honestly, is pretty sad. [/hide] And thus why I really do hate threads like these. Because it's generally one guy (or a group of people) stroking their e-peenors whilst claiming some kind of entitlement complex because they've spent X amount of days in-game, have X stats and X items and. Having better armor "entitles" you to get hit less (or in the case of mage/range armor, hit more often). Having better weapons "entitles" you to hit harder or more often. Having a higher herblore "entitles" you to make better pots, which can either let you hit more often, hit higher or stay in an area longer then you would be able to otherwise. Having better armor or stats then someone else doesn't "entitle" you to any spot or monster, nor does it "entitle" you to be a [cabbage] in-game. And I could only shake my head at the above emphasized. Wait. So why do you play an MMO again? Also, I have the same opinion of certain things in real life. If I feel like someone's wasting my time for something I don't think is worthy, I don't put up with their crap. I agree with you - it's pretty easy to find a single open spot for TD's, and crashing for just 1 spot is kind of unneeded and silly. The problem with TD's is when someone uses two spawns with the Steel Titan method, like I do. It's pretty hard to find a totally empty world, and if only one of the spawns is being used I'll sometimes crash depending on the person's gear.
-
This kind of sums up my opinion of people I crash. If you have good gear, I won't be straight up mean and crash you. But if you don't deserve the spot, you don't deserve the spot. I usually sit there and let the demons keep aggro on me for a while... and then wait and see if the person is impatient enough to try to kill them (and dies)
-
Nah miths are good summoning exp Bout as good as normal WF's, though you're gettting greens so the xp is more expensive I was doing them with superantifires + rapier, idk if you have some other method
-
Or you could just lure all 6 demons and mess up the guy's spot for a pretty long while

It really isn't - I've just been DKing a lot recently and have been fed up with people trying to pull prime on me and stuff when they don't really know what they're doing.

In those cases I just hop  . In a way, they've earned a right to beat me - for being smart enough to realize that you can lure. But even then, if they don't do it properly they either A) end up dying or B) it doesn't work because the spot I use is at worst only exposed to 2 demons at a time, and a lot of the time the second demon doesn't end up attacking me But I do do that, lol. When someone better than me crashes me, I don't say anything and I hop.
-
Preface: I'll admit it. I look like a [puncture] for saying what I'm about to say. But hear me out - even if you may not like my message, you still might at least understand why I (and other crashers) do what we do. I crash people. I crash Bandos, I crash DK's, I crash TD's. I do it regularly. And when I choose to crash, I always win. I have a steel titan, the best equipment, access to overloads, turmoil, and maxed stats. If I want to crash you, chances are you'll have to hop worlds. Why do I do it? I realize it's mean. I realize it's rude. I would hate to be crashed. I don't like being crashed myself, even by weaker players - it's just a nuisance. But in a world where most good spots are taken, sometimes we have to resort to ugly methods to get the spawns we want. Part of the reason - incentive, even - of getting better equipment and stats is earning the right to crash people. Why would I put my countless hours of training to waste? Why would I give up something that I feel like I've earned? In a world where almost every Bandos spawn is occupied, someone's gotta hop. Either you or me. And in my eyes, I've earned the right to make you hop. Ideally, neither of us would have to hop - but we don't live in an ideal world. Never crash someone who is stronger than you, or even equal to you in strength. You haven't earned the right to do so. If you try it, you're an idiot. In other words, swallow your pride, and learn to lose. If I see another maxed tribrider at DK, I won't even try crashing him. Because in that scenario, I'm just being rude - I haven't earned the right to crash him. But if I see just one solo mager, I'll crash him. He hasn't trained as hard as I have for my Arcstream, OLs, and 99 Magic. Don't whine to someone crashing you. Why not spend that energy and effort into thinking about how you can train your own stats? Earn the right to beat crashers. Stop complaining. Yes - I'm a little elitist. But what's stopping you from being maxed? What's the difference between a lower leveled player and me? I worked for my equipment and stats, and you can too.
-
I will max out eventually, but right now I want to train dungeoneering. Maxing out will take longer than getting 99 dungeoneering with 117ers will anyways. If nobody has any clans to suggest, please close this thread. Pm me if you find one / are going to start one up. Thanks. The time you take to get 99 DG and then maxed melee will be significantly longer (by hundreds of hours) the time you take to get maxed melee and then 99 DG. And yes, xpx puts it well - getting maxed stats just shows GOOD DG players that you care enough about it.
-
Maxed Melee IS important. So is having turmoil. Good cb stats make you kill faster. This saves food and time, and prevents deaths. Unless you have like 2200+ skill total, no good DG clan will take you seriously. You're only going to be DGing with noobs.

It's funny the way things work I was Dking yesterday and got an axe - I barely cared and immediately banked it with my Yak Then I got a zerker, and got pretty excited about that. It depends on the drop. Dclaws still surprise me and can make my day. I guess it really boils down to your expectations. On a DK trip I expect to get at least 1 axe; on TD trips I expect to get nothing.
