  1. I'd like to add that, if you were sitting there watching yourself kill Bandits, you were doing it wrong. The point of killing bandits is that you can walk away and do something else while your character fights. But if you want to take an active role, slayer is a good skill for training combat. The black mask bonus and variety make it fun.
  2. 84 is British, I believe, which means people from other parts of the world lag HORRIBLY. Even at the best of times a few hundred people running to the same rock or fishing spot causes serious lag.
  3. It's not as good, but it is the best one-handed option if you want a shield for whatever reason.
  4. This has good basic lures. As you gain experience you learn little tricks to lure this or that demon better or kill this one in a different place or what have you. A lot of it is improvisation.
  5. About the same mentality as designing a webpage legible only on 1920x1200 resolutions running Opera. Once again, Jagex delivers. Not really given the insanely low requirements of rs to run I'd imagine its a small minority indeed that CAN'T run resizeable. So making sure it 100% woirks on non-resizable for something tht is so much worse when played tht way would be like making sure a modern webpage can work on a machine running on specs from pre 90s Many people still use fixed, myself included. It's not a question on whether or not you can make it work for the most people with the least effort. Fixed is not outdated like a pre-90 machine would be. It's still a great way for people who simply like it better, and trust me there are a lot of people who like it better. Also, using resizeable/full screen prevents you from clicking the numbered buttons on the Winterface at the end of a Dungeon, which means that resizeable/full screen don't work when they matter the most for dg (C1s/C2s). What I mean is that to do C1s or C2s, you pretty much HAVE to be on fixed, otherwise you'd add a ton of time to each floor. So Jagex messing up the font for fixed screens is pretty dumb and should be fixed. Wat First off, preferring fixed for dungeoneering is like preferring driving while wearing a hood. You just can't see enough for it to work as well as someone using resizeable. Second, I use the numbered buttons just fine. I've never had a problem with it.
  6. That's what she said!
  7. How much lower would one person have to be for that to make a significant difference? Depends on how you define significant, and really I haven't done enough dungeons with low levels to give you a good estimate. I once did a floor with a level 3 skiller, it was pretty nice. GDs were quite a bit easier on average, and it didn't hurt that he supplied us with enough strong melees and strong rejuvination potions to pot and turm most of them. The boss seemed a bit easier too, it was runebound, but again I'm not sure how much of that was the strong melees.
  8. On the other hand, having lower hp also reduces average monster level, so that can be a pretty major plus.
  9. Dungeoneering doesn't work well with fixed screen, I expect Jagex just didn't really consider that anyone would do that. On resizeable you can not only see the text, but also things like monsters that are more than a quarter of a room away from you.
  10. No, but keying without a hood is very difficult. You're likely to die a lot and it's really annoying having to clear/tank hoodsafe puzzle rooms that a hooded keyer would have breezed through. Obt I was thinking more LSD, but yeah.
  11. LOL his first ever "rush" (read: actual dungeon) was with Grimy?! That must have been hilarious.

Hey, it's not easy playing a game like this when you're illiterate.
  13. It's vaguely possible that resetting the dungeon could be faster than doing a GD, but usually I think it'd be best to just stay in the dungeon. It takes a while to leave and set up a new one.

This thread is hilarious. HEY GUYS I MESSED UP THE LEVERS MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW BECAUSE MY STUPID TEAM COUNTS THE WAY EVERYONE ELSE COUNTS INSTEAD OF THE WAY I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD COUNT

Each boss drops a certain type of equipment, and has a chance of dropping a primal version (the chance is MUCH MUCH higher of receiving primal in a 5 man team). Dreadnaught drops platebodies, and Kal'Ger drops 2h swords. Those are both bosses in the warped floors, so you have a ways to go before it will be possible for you to get primal anything.

I know it's scary, but you will have to enter a dungeon with them so they can smith you equipment. Then you can go back to soloing. In addition to a prom 2h, you should get a prom platebody until you find a shadow silk hood.
  17. The way I, and I think most other people, would do it is to find the highest floor that is the lowest somebody has open, OR the highest floor that the lowest level can do. In other words, say I have 36 and 43 open, and I'm duoing with somebody who has 37 and 40 open. We'd do 37, which would check off 36 at 36 exp for me and 37 at 37 exp for them. Also, if I only had 47 open and was duoing with someone who only had 38 open and could only access up to floor 40, we'd do 40 so that they get 38 at 38 exp and I get 47 at 40 exp. It sounds complicated but it really isn't. Just look to the guy who has his floors checked off highest and then do his lowest floor or the highest floor everyone in the team can access.
  18. Rocktails are both the most afk and the best profit. Bring a stack of decorated urns and some granite lobsters for the greatest effect.
  19. Yeah, barbarian fishing is a rather stupid fishing training method at the moment. C2 dungeons for great click-intense fishing exp, or afk rocktails if you don't want click intensity. You don't have to really dungeoneer, just think of it as wandering around some rooms looking for fishing spots.
  20. The exp loss is more than fair considering the time saved finding teams. You can now form a team among essentially any 5 friends of a similar DG level instantly rather than having to find people with compatible floors, which often involves waiting for this or that person because nobody else has the floor open.
  21. Are you sure about this? As far as i've heard and the manual says, you get prestige xp(first column) for the floor that gets ticked off and base xp(second column) for the floor you did if you tick a higher floor off with a lower one. Thus, because base xp is almost constant, you only lose around 200 xp per floor that is higher than what you just did. You've got that backwards- the first one is base, the second is prestige. The first one is the one that changes floor by floor, and it's the one that takes a penalty for having checked off a high floor by doing a low floor, so the difference can be significant.
  22. ^true (other then the "sounds too good to be true" part) No, it isn't true. Say your only floor is 45 and you join 38. At the end, you get experience as if you had done 38, and 45 gets ticked off. If it was the opposite- you have 38 open and do 45, you get still exp as if you had done 38 and get 38 ticked off. Thus you should always err on the side of setting the floor too high rather than too low if possible (having players with a lower dungeoneering level can mess this up). If you have to take a small exp hit, though, it's not a big deal. Better than the old way.
  23. Well, because my non-combats are so awful, I prefer my teammates to have lowwwww non-combats (this never happens of course). Most of the other keyers have really high stats, though, so I think they'd appreciate certain people to have 80 or 90 in certain stats (mining, construction). Yeah, my stats are high enough that I prefer everyone to have 90 mining for prom, 99 herb for skill pots, 91 summoning for ragers, 75 cons for altar, and 90 thieve for chests. Otherwise I'm keying AND skilling, which can get annoying. Then again, those noobs with 99 rc and mining can throw me for a loop.
