  1. I just.... don't... HOW do people still think this?? Corp does not regain ANY health from eating familiars. Unicorns are the familiar of choice for free-for-all corp, because it lets you heal without losing attack turns or losing your stats to brews. He does have a chance of eating them every time he attacks you, but if you're in a semi-large team you can get by on 4ish unicorn pouches per hour.
  2. Staking's not a reliable way to make money, no matter what people tell you. Anyone can always beat anyone else, and you can always get cleaned (or lose the amount you've let yourself stake with, if you're smart enough to set a stopping point). Much better to do something like hosting the dice game. Your opponents are ruled by the same gambling addict logic that makes people stake, but the odds are definitively in your favor that way.
  3. Okay. I'm not trying to call you stupid or anything, just was wondering if there was some sort of interesting reason why gnome course might be preferable. If you just like being yelled at by gnomes for less exp, that's your business :P
  4. When I don't get crashed or anything stupid like that I can get about 42 killed in a 3 overload (1 hour) trip.
  5. Out of curiosity, how could you like one course more than the other? They're pretty much identical in terms of clicking density. Is it the pretty colors or what?
  6. You really, really want void for TDs. It's not like void is difficult to get or anything. Your lack of chaotics will drag you down here and at any other boss. Squab... xbow does more damage per second than rcbow. Obviously.
  7. You'll want to use elite void with a handcannon or Karil's xbow and... I guess probably a godsword until you get good enough at switching to use a whip without wasting ticks. Bring a dragon defender to make darklighting faster. Use a unicorn, obviously. Be on normal prayers so you can switch between eagle eye and piety. Use a unicorn. There are lots of written and video guides that get into the spots to use and how to lure and inventory setups and stuff of that nature.
  8. Wow, people actually went PKing at the wilderness agility course on the bonus weekend? That's... really sad. Sorry that happened. I agree that sticking skiller stuff in the wild just to give bored 13 year olds who want to feel superior someone to pick on is a pretty crappy idea.
  9. Lamps/tomes aren't a multiplier, so you still get normal exp from them. It's only multipliers that are negated by the bonus weekend. Things that store exp like peng points, effigies, lamps, quest rewards, etc. just give the amount they usually would.
  10. It's the latter, Jagex has been aware of this since the first weekend and still somehow convince themselves that it doesn't need to be fixed.
  11. All bonus exp multipliers are replaced by the bonus weekend multiplier. So IN PLACE OF the altar bonus, you get base bone exp times whatever your bonus exp multiplier is. So in the first half hour it'd be 2.7 times the burying exp. The altar does nothing. Similarly, IN PLACE OF the goldsmithing gauntlet bonus, you get base gold ore smelting exp times your current multiplier. Short answer- yes, that's how it works.
  12. Yeah, that'd be great. Being required to have a certain magic level, be on a certain spellbook, and carry certain runes to make sure you won't be team rushed in a single combat area. Or, we could just disallow team rushing in single combat. Somehow I'm thinking the latter option is a bit less bull [cabbage].
  13. Can't you just look up the rapier's slash bonus and tell it's better than the whip? It's not a hard comparison lol. And Jimi, to live with maul you have to pray ranged and flash soul split every time, and use a unicorn. The only part that's really dangerous is when they freeze you outside of melee range so they spam ranged and breath, so you bring a shield to switch to when you're frozen. It's purely for people who don't care about money and are all about slayer exp, because you lose the ability to yak the bones.
  14. Dan has a sane opinion! *cries and hugs Dan* I knew you could do it!
  15. Okay, so if you plan on getting 99 slayer but then never, ever want to kill anything after that, then getting a rapier at a low slayer level would be a slight waste of time. Somehow I don't think many people fit that demographic. In my experience, people get 99 slayer because they enjoy combat, they don't just stop when they get 99 slayer.
  16. I like it, but it could be improved greatly. If you aren't playing with competent people, it is literally the worst thing in RS. Nothing else makes me want to punch things like w117 dungeoneering. The big problem with it is that your team can be selfish [rooster] gobblers and they benefit for it. Sit in the base the whole time while I solo GDs and die multiple times? Guess who gets the exp penalty. Hog all the food so everyone else dies on the boss? Guess who gets the exp penalty. I do every puzzle and kill the majority of the monsters while everyone else wanders aimlessly? We all get the exact same experience bonus. Not that there's a good way to fix this- any sort of attempt would draw a large experience divide between keyers and DPSers, which would probably mean that EVERYONE, no matter how incompetent, is fighting over keys so that they get the door opening bonus. That would be a lot worse. I think it would be kind of nice to see some sort of sharing the pain system for deaths though, so that you have an incentive to look after your team and make sure one guy isn't hogging all the food to make sure that he won't die and lose exp. If every time someone died EVERYONE lost 4% exp, I guarantee you'd see a greater sense of sharing in 117/148. Then again, then you'd get trolls that just die for the fun of it. The main problem, as Grimy said, is that the community is [cabbage], and making a skill that requires interacting with it is a fundamentally stupid idea. It is nice once you've gone through the hell it requires to get with people who don't utterly suck, though.
  17. Used some number of mahog planks (forgot how many I bought lol, it was like 15-20k) and got from 90-96 and a halfish construction. Will be assisting that the rest of the way to 99, so I'll probably never have to make another oak door or mahog table again. Thank. God. That skill is the most frustrating thing to train. After that I went to knock out some monkeys and take their stuff repeatedly. Getting pretty sick of it already. Might try to force myself into some runecrafting, I don't know. I used up most of my tedium tolerance on construction, always been my least favorite skill.
  18. There's no formal app though, all you have to do to start dunging is enter the CC and join/advertise a floor.
  19. With rigour, maul, full void, hand cannon/karil's, and all the maxed out gear and good technique, I tend to get ~40 kills/hr with a unicorn. That translates to an effigy every 1:30-1:40ish, and does not include banking time. I also tend to get something like 30-40 blues and 20-25 crims in that hour. For effigies and cash, TDs are unprecedented. For straight up effigies, though, you want to go cannon cave crawlers in the smoky well. That's 1 effigy per hour, but it costs a decent amount as well. A really interesting thread about effigies is in guides, called Effigyscape. I'd check it out to learn more.
  20. and don't forget you have to multiply the time you dung by 20k-??k for time lost slayering. Same for imbuing rings. So if you lose 100 hours getting stuff that is "essential" [sic] you miss out on 2M-?M slayer exp and a ~60M+ in drops. If you like dunging this isn't a problem. If you are only into slayer it might be. Depends on personal preference. You might think you need the rapier later for other stuff, or you want to continue leveling dung to 85 for frosties. Then it might be wiser to invest time in dung. Yeah, because I haven't touched my imbued rings or chaotic items since 99 slayer... No wait, I use them every single time I boss hunt or have to kill something. Actually, I got 99 slayer before chaotics even came out, come to think of it... You lucky noobs with your kuradal and your rapiers and your cheap prayer pots... :P
  21. These spells were completely, stupidly overpowered for single-combat. There's no arguing that. You should NOT require a team of people to fight in single-combat wilderness, that's the entire point of single combat. There's no way one guy is going to beat another guy who has a team of 5 people spec transfering him for 12 d claw specs or 6 korasi specs in a row. That is, in every sense of the word, a team ganging up on one person in a single combat area.
  22. Rapier is WAY better than the competition, but if you refuse to get 80 dungeoneering for it, the whip is your best bet.
  23. I am on a mountain, soon to be an island.
