  1. What trolling? Did you see the offending posts? Xpx made a joke directed at Ancient, banned for trolling. Ancient said that xpx wasn't being offensive to him and there had been some kind of mistake, banned for moderator bashing. Now THAT'S mod abuse.
  2. @All_Is_Great: I haven't. I wasn't prepared to leave until I found that XPX and Ancient had been banned for absolutely no reason.
  3. PROTIP: Silencing community views and trying to get everything done in private (especially when PMing mods and admins accomplishes nothing) breeds distrust of the administration. I've had several PMs today from people interested in leaving, having seen the totalitarian stance taken by TIF and the RIDICULOUS offenses deemed worthy of bans. Clean up your act, or prepare to lose people. This has gone beyond far enough.
  4. You are saying that those people will ragequit tip.it forums if things won't change? How is that different from the RSOF were people ragequit runescape because things won't change? (no offence to you or the people you named here) NO OFFENSE, BUT YOU'RE ACTING LIKE RSOF Yeah, thanks. But seriously, it's not productive to stay somewhere where my friends all get picked off for doing nothing. We're relocating somewhere that we won't have to wake up every day wondering which user is gone.
  5. Unfortunately, regardless of how people can be at times, we're not going to allow people to remain in the community if they are constantly disrupting it (whether they provide good advice and guides or not) and ruining the experience for other users who do follow the rules and aren't trying their best to disrupt it. I wonder which was more disruptive- xpx teasing ancient on this thread, or the delete spam and temporary locking. It seems you forgot about the barrage of posts insulting staff/posting about staff decisions which we said to stop. How do they help a topic? (Rhetorical question). Well, they were a response to the unfair banning of two prominent users who hadn't done a thing wrong. The most productive course would have been to not issue pointless bans.

  7. Oh and http://grimy.freeforums.org/index.php is just starting up. It needs some new forums but it'll be good soonish.
  8. If you want to maintain a community, stop banning long-standing, well-liked users and then expecting everyone to just shrug and get on with life. This is getting ridiculous.
  9. Maybe not 6 months, but I would recommend a timeframe that the majority of scapers would consider ridiculous. So what, like, 7 hours?
  10. I agree. Grimy and Jimi like it though, and there's not a lot we can do about the admin and the head keyer both wanting something.
  11. Part of the problem is that we need a way to ease moderator load. Being in the top 10 ish clans gets you a lot of attention. A lot of attention means we can, and on some level have to, be very picky about the kind of individuals we take. If they can reapply every week, it both gives less incentive for them to do well the first time, and lets the same idiots waste time weekly. As for the multiclanning problem... bleh. More obstacles set up by Jagex. Not sure what to do about that.
  12. After sleeping on it, here is my NEW dealing with randoms idea: Everyone starts the clan as unranked. When ranked keyer teams form up, they may have a maximum of ONE unranked member unless there's really just nobody else on. Ideally the team would have one ranked keyer and one ranked wingman to keep an eye on the unrank. The star rank(s) on the team decide based on that floor whether the new member is too horrible to stay in DGS or not, remembering that it's not about making mistakes, it's about the will to improve. If the unrank is polite and quick to do what they're asked, they earn a banana. If they're rude, selfish, or other no-nos, they take a 6 month vacation and can reapply at that time. That way, every banana rank is a certified non-idiot, and people know that unranks might not be the best addition to the team. Note that this does not prevent unranks from joining/hosting floors while they're waiting to be reviewed.
  13. Your definition of efficiency is wrong. You arent saving money for less exp/hr. The time you saved getting the higher exp/hr could have been used to make more money than you saved. And as noted before if you're going through that much food you are using inefficient healing methods or slaying techniques (such as prayer flashing). Just because you feel better about your particular way of training does not make it efficient. It makes it enjoyable for you. Efficient is not some abstract concept that can be applied to anything anyone does based on whether or not they feel good about what they are doing. No it's not; Webster's New World Dictionary defines efficient as "producing the desired result with a minimum of effort, expense or waste." If something gets to be too much of an effort, too expensive or too wasteful, it no longer can be called "efficient". For me, using a lot of food is too expensive and wasteful, and therefore not efficient. Fastest is not always most efficient, no matter what you may want to think, especially if fast means wasting more than saving the slower way. For example, I work at a hotel atm and my boss wants to get as much money as he can every night. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, as it is a business and he should be making money from it. The problem is, he often overlooks slower long-term profits in favor of faster short term profits, often to the detriment of customer service; he'll often screw our customers over for short-term gains and lose the long-term business from those people. As an example, I made a decision one night that lost us $300 for that night, but earned us over $1000 the following nights because a work crew was running late on a job and I didn't charge them for the no-show (which would have cancelled their reservations outright). In the long-term, that's far more efficient than just grabbing short-term gains. To put it in game terms, our $/night wasn't as high as it could have been, but our $/week was higher as a result. I approach rs the same way; if a sacrifice of short-term gains means better long-term gains down the road, hell yea I'll do that. The food I would have wasted doing Slayer will serve me better during the difficult quest I'm trying to unlock or while gathering Charms for summoning, which to me is more efficient than using it to train a skill that I'm not even going to touch again until the next quest that requires it. Being efficient isn't about pigeonholing your personal definition and expecting everyone to conform to it, it's about finding the best way to do something for themselves. As I said in a previous post, I tried the fast way, it didn't match with what I consider to be efficient, therefore I found another way that is efficient for me. You may disagree, and that's your right to do so, but that doesn't make me wrong for doing things differently. This is a great example of the kind of person who causes problems on H&A. It'd be one thing if he just said he doesn't like using food, but when he starts going on about how efficient he is saving food that takes 5 minutes to earn and wasting half an hour in return... It's essentially flamebait. When this kind of person gives advice on H&A, it HAS to turn into a flame war because they're essentially trying to convince people that wasting time and money is effective. When this kind of person asks for help, they'll just sit there trolling by assuming that people who have maxed the skill they're working know less about "long term gain" than they do. You want efficiency trolling? It's this, right here.
  14. Because that would mean letting the terrorists win.
  15. Yeah, c2 is still the best fishing. They only brought it to slightly more reasonable levels by knocking it down to 75%.
  16. See: Mods like Danq.
  17. I can tell you right now I'm never dunging with him again. Presumably the other good dungeoneers will do the same and the problem will sort itself out.
  18. He CAN'T USE IT and SNIPED IT FROM THE 99 SLAYER? I mad. That is an absurd level of douchebag.
  19. Do group C1s to F29, large everything else. Alternatively you can solo C2 1-29 and fish everything for the best fishing exp in the game AND getting your low floors out of the way.
  20. Wait, you didn't... you DID. Why did you destroy hood lol? As a keyer you could have gotten by with only hex and hood until 100. Inb4 15m exp unhooded with a hex :P
  21. You could start by clicking the giant underlined text that says "Spreadsheets" in Grimy's sig.
