  1. You mean it isn't dressing up in neon coloured spandex and crash helmets and leaping around the place fighting badly made-up enemies with unlikely martial arts?* But seriously, what is the advantage of caged stuff? Unless you can get into the cage you lose half your drops. There are plenty of perfectly good range safespots at moss giants, karamja lessers and waterfall fire giants. And there are a whole lot more spots after the monsters go non-aggressive. This way you get all your drops and your arrows back. If you really want to range something in a cage try the greaters in the ogre enclave. df *reference to Power Rangers before anyone asks
  2. He is right, metal dragons are good for drops. However, at your mage level they are very slow to kill and bad xp (lots of splashing and 0s) plus there is lots of other stuff down there which will close on you and melee you (wild dogs, black demons). I was down there using Zammy Flames on them and I was using upwards of 20 casts to kill one bronze drag. For you I would say that you don't have the money to high alch (you always lose money unless you make stuff yourself) so have some fun, buy 1k chaos (world hop at a rune shop, you should get 1k for 120k) buy 3 k airs (60k) and a fire staff then go to Karamja and fire strike the Lesser Demons, they are fairly weak to any mage attack (later on try Zammy flames on them :)). You won't make your money back down there either mind. df
  3. What you need for the ghostly robes is the ring of visibility. I would suggest that it is necessary to do the quest up to the point where the ring is obtained (shadow diamond, before :) you fight the boss. You will avoid all the fights but you'll need to do the annoying lockpick thing. df
  4. Most people who can't get in have either taken a fired bowl or a pot of some description. Also if you break off your conversation with the oracle before you have gone through the whole thing you can have problems.
  5. Plus go and have a look at what Magnus Mortifier (sp?) is doing south of Fally, looks like summoning? Maybe Lunar Dip. is the first step towards the Ice Lands? df
  6. Hmm, cyclist in positive drugs test shocker? Not really. The sport is absolutely riddled with it. It's pretty much the same every year now, which is a shame because I really enjoy watching the race but it's hard to get enthusiastic about someone winning when in the back of your mind you're thinking that a significant minority (if not the majority) may be on drugs. @ Phil: It wasn't the best of races this year anyway so you didn't miss much. I had to stay up till 1am every night to get to see any of it. df
  7. RC nats, easily 200k profit per hour Kill green drags in wildy? Just take whip, anti drag shield, some combat pots and two pieces of armour if you are worried about pkers. Bones go for 2k++ in bulk hides for less, but then you could save the hides till you hit 58 crafting and alch dhide vambs (1500gp per). IDK if you could do it at your stats but you could give it a go. Fish it (I wouldn't want to but its up to you) 1k lobs(raw) = ~300k df
  8. Yes. Take plenty of prayer pots for the dungeon, energy pots are also good as is food (protect from melee does not prevent falling rock damage, poison or trap damage). Take lots of antipoison (I took 3 per trip minimum). For the final fight take plenty of pray pots, monks robes (or other prayer boosting gear) and range him with the best bow and arrows you have. As long as you stay away from the demon and range he will not close the distance and melee you so you can just stick protect from mage on and range him to death. BTW I had to tele off the island at least twice to refresh my pots and food. df Ps If you get stuck on the puzzle there is a great sticky in the clues, clues, clues section which helped me loads.
  9. Prices change quite a lot. I used to buy for 150-170 but I've seen them go for a bit less recently, maybe 130? If you buy in bulk off a merchant or off the forums then they can go for up to 200. df
  10. The prices are here. How much you make depends on how much you buy (bowstrings, logs etc) Nats cost 300-320ea. df
  11. You could try going to the Burthorpe Slayer master (unless he gave you the assignment) and he might change it. He will change any assignment which is harder than the ones he offers. BTW 750?! Really? df
  12. nice but is he f2p or p2p Good point, but in the end I still think you should always look for the xp (I know cows will give some but it isn't exactly good combat training). df
  13. Short term: Cowhides Long term: Airs Sure you get 200 per cowhide in bulk but level 44 rc is by far a better money making option. I can craft about 30 nats in two minutes, thats 270k per hour minimum (probably a lot more if I tried). So nats > hides.
  14. This post from Leesters archive of wisdom is pretty good: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=189261 On about page 7(?) there is a good post by Leesters about how to mage them as well. df
  15. No that one is fine I think. I think Jagex even put it on tip of the day once.
  16. I think you could get Torags for that. Without the hammers (which suck apparently) it's still the best melee defence in the game I believe? Guthans is good stuff as well but may be a bit out of your price range.
  17. Hmm it sounds like Jagex are singing off different hymn sheets here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=481908&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20 About halfway down that thread a guy has copied a message from Jagex saying the exact opposite
  18. I think its just an interesting diversion from what has typically been a fairly limited use of magic (attack and tele). Of course they are expensive, but they are also convenient. I'd rather spend the money on astrals than shear hundred of those blasted sheep and spin the wool. Like someone said, this is a skillers spellbook for the most part, but I also like the fact that a ranger or warrior can use it to support his team. If such tactics prove viable in the wildy and other situations then it should force people to form more trust-based relationships in the game and as such encourage a more co-operative feeling in the game. That can only be a good thing. df
  19. No. It really is. I've seen a message for Jagex confirming it.
  20. North of the chaos altar in the wildy there are black unicorns. It's multi combat but you don't exactly need to take your best armour to fight a unicorn so its a good place. df
  21. Coifs or pot lids (requires One Small Favour). Pot lids are particularly good because you never have to leave the crafting guild. Just take 14 buckets with you.
  22. Yes, you can get all pouches at any level. BTW you don't have to have the farming and herblore requirements for FT-II to get access to the rings. This new abyss area rocks, non multicombat, no skulling, no wildy, no prayer drain and you can tele right back to lost city to use the bank. I reccoment using it before Jagex decide its too easy and change it (see: Pest Control, Charge, Crumble Undead etc.)
  23. Assuming you hit an average of a 10 per cball you will get 140k xp, so not quite enough for 60 If you hit a 15 on average you'll get 210k xp - enough for 60+ What you hit will depend on what you train on(plus no-one, except Jagex - really know how the hits are generated so working out the average objectively is impossible). So I'd say stick with 7k for now and see how your xp goes. Maybe fire 1000 and work out the xp per ball, multiply by six and check here to see if it's going to be enough. df
  24. Draynor or Seers banks are both good. I preferred Draynor when I trained wc but there isn't much difference. df
  25. Unstrung willow long bows, quick to cut or cheap to buy. Fletch them until you hit 70. df
