  1. I think prepaid game cards are cheaper then SMS. Goto 7/11, buy a slurpee and a game card and play some runescape with a slurpee.
  2. Sounds like a solid plan, unfinished potions are always decent cash at the worst of times. eh, not a fan of clues personally. Not a super big fan of farming either, I don't like how it basically forces me to take a hard break for 3-5 minutes. Don't want to sound like an [wagon] here, but I know that. Fishing and Woodcutting are poor ways to make money regardless, only reason why fishing is leveled is because I have a backlog of like, 200gb of shows to watch and 5 books to read. My ranged and Magic is 2 and 7 respectively. See that's why I need some money, I want to get a mud staff and curse up to 43/55 magic. Also rune boots, glory, regen brace in the meantime etc etc. I don't mind leveling non-combat skills as long as there is a benefit (Quest I need to do anyway, it opens up an obviously better money maker) I plan on staying considerably low strength, no prayer (11 from the canafis quest) and no summoning. I may level summoning later after details are revealed about the free trade revival, but until then no. So that leaves out quite a bit of quests as quite a few of them give strength XP. Though if you know a good way to make money that will give me a little bit strength XP too, I can work around that probably. (as of now I haven't done any planning for quests other then blood pact to get a nice, bot free training ground) Thanks for all the replies guys, I appreciate it. I managed to fish 150 some lobsters in the meantime. So I am sitting at around 90k now :). Short term goals would be, 80 attack 80 defense, xx strength, 82 magic/xx range. Long term is obviously maxed the respective skills I want to train... Will take me a long time with such low strength but nothing I can't manage.
  3. I am talking "Why did you buy members for that?!" low here. My character has 40 attack, 10 strength, 40 defense and 57 fishing. Full rune + scimitar. I need to get some initial money made here. What are some things I can do to generate some starting wealth so I can merchant? Chiseling granite? Stringing flax? I don't think melee will be a good idea because it takes me forever to kill stuff, plus I don't feel like competing with bots (lol flesh crawlers). Also the only quests I have done are ... The Blood Pact. That's it. Don't mind doing some easy quests. So between killing men and flesh crawlers I have around 65k. 400k/hr Would be nice, but I'm not expecting more than that (if you manage I'll poop my pants). In the mean time I am gonna read my book and fish.
  4. Other than Merchanting, how does F2P money making stack up? What are the best?
  5. That depends if anyone is dumb enough to stake someone like that or has similar accounts or fights you with your rules. And Elysian requires prayer.
  6. false It sure helped though. Sure a lot of people were in clans/small buyout groups that could generate a lot of junk, but not everybody. Santas and masks had no street, making them absolutely useless for trading up. It always amuses me when people who clearly haven't the faintest clue what they're talking about "explain" things. Maybe not santas but red periodically had street value. Theres no reason for merchanters to hold onto the smaller rares anymore, especially when they sell all those santas and masks they can buy better rares. And what makes you think I was speaking solely for santas? There are numerous items that have street value that aren't rares that you can trade up with. A lot has to do with the fact that the GE made it easy for merchanters to artificially inflate the price of the lower rares too.
  7. The reason why a lot of rares are crashing is because their prices were fueled by the merchanters - nobody else. You needed low rares to trade for medium rares, and medium rares to buy stuff like party hats and divines. Now that any rare item can be bought for straight gold - there is no reason merchants to hold onto their rares to trade up. It also means a lot of merchants probably dumped their rares on the GE, to get straight case for when the update comes so they can buy a party hat.
  8. Does that surprise you? Staking is pretty old now. But yeah, mage boxing was pretty popular especially with the people that staked the high items. I think I remember your mage boxing log? I remember I was just about finished my mage boxer then Jagex brought into the anti-rwt updates. I was pretty frustrated :(
  9. Are you trying to imply that just because you do not download nefarious software means you are safe? I just wanted to point out how dumb and stupid that is. The only safe computer is one not plugged into the internet.
  10. Actually I do develop software, it is just that I believe in FOSS. Nobody should be allowed to patent software because a lot of the time, there are only so many ways you can make something work (efficiently). And I like how you bring up Apple, who has some of the most [cabbage] patents ever. Reducing a CPU's frequency by interrupting it? Yeah, who the hell granted them that patent? Been done how long and APPLE GETS THE PATENT? You are free to believe in what you want, but saying just because software patents cease to exist doesn't mean companies won't need code monkeys.
  11. You are everything wrong with the current state of computer software if you are supporting software patents.
  12. I expressed what I thought and was told to ignore people that break the rules. I expressed how I felt about that as well. If I wanted to shove any moral down anyone's throat, I would naturally have continued by saying why I don't support anarcism and why others should think the same. All I did was point out my view, it wasn't meant as an attack on anything and I'm sorry if it offended you in any way. God damn I realize you probably do not know what you are talking about, but at least spell it right. Anarchism.
  13. Crimsons would be like 2-4k each I would guess.
  14. It takes around 1/100th? of a ms to detect one pixel. If you think your reaction time is better then that then prove me wrong. All you have to do is be within .6 seconds. My point is no human will be able to beat a computer in a test of reactions, and flawlessly moving the mouse to the confirm button in 1/20th of a second. Not only that, bots do not tire. Anyone who has camped the GE for an update knows how tedious it is.
  15. It takes around 1/100th? of a ms to detect one pixel. If you think your reaction time is better then that then prove me wrong. Opening and closing the GE screen is trivial.
  16. To put it bluntly your suggestions are crap. Do not try to think of solutions when you have no idea how the technologies behind your suggestions work.
  17. Funny, Bladewing isn't scamming anybody here. He has blatantly said that this guy would be an idiot to sell his party hats on the GE. He just adds at the end that if OP wishes to trade for GE mid price, he would swap his divine which would get him more GP. Never did he ever say that party hats are junk and impossible to trade, or that they are liquid. The people who I would consider scammers? These guys right here. They have no idea how hard it is to get a party hat. Money is not important when you have a santa hat and a bunch of junk that probably adds up to around 50m that he could sell and start flipping in the GE. No, but neiter will your levels matter. I'd sell / liquidate everything you don't like (I for myself would not sell the santa, because I liked mine until I sold it) and use the cash to have fun and/or levels.
  18. I don't know how liquid the (or) kits are, but I know for a fact that any program or service you use that alerts you when an update happens is to slow to snipe most items. I have gotten offers in for items literally <5 seconds after a update and have not sniped any items. And that is faster by atleast a minute compared to programs you can run, and 2-4 minutes faster then online services. But I have not concerned myself with (or) kits so I don't know how many are being traded.
  19. Yeah, I have 3 raven eggs and I have not leveled my woodcutting in 3 years ... Came from MTK.
  20. Funny ... thats not quite how I remember it. Also I would like to reconsider what I said - I would like to see skill capes removed. That would be cool. And someone mentioned pre MSB spec nerf, that would be good too... To many choices for me to decide.
  21. Can't believe nobody said this yet but - 3 round system. Second choice would be RSC style staking. (third free trade)
  22. I wouldn't pay 300$ for a device just to play RS. I suggest you pick up a hobby, like stamp or coin collecting if you have that much extra money.
  23. There was already enough supply previously ... Lets face it, its not like they have a lot of uses.
  24. I think the money saved by using a bronze dagger would make it more efficient. Not to mention the time it takes to raise dungeoneering to get the rapier, in that time you could have killed thousands of men Fixed.
