Suicide (Statistics, Philosophy, etc)
It is, and the odds of this happening increase with every suicide. Example: (A, B, C, D, E and F all know eachother closely). A commits suicide, all the others are touched, but B couldn't handle it and commited suicide. F and E both couldn't handle losing 2 of their best friends at the same time and up doing the same thing, which leaves C and D, both lost 4 of their best friends in quick succession. They can either stick together or both end up getting too depressed and commit suicide. I realize this is a grim and unrealistic example, which is oversimplified, but it's the way I see it, if you lose multiple people at the same time it becomes worse.

Best songs for movies
Every movie includes a lot of music. Some are even characterized by it. So my question is: what songs do you like best when it comes to soundtracks for movies? Well, I like the Jurassic Park theme and the Pirates of the Carribean theme best, they're great songs that go well with the story.

Pirate Bay founders lose trial
Unfortunately, they made available torrents files which were allowing people to download copyrighted material. In this way, they became acomplices to the illegal downloading. Say you tell me that you want to rob a bank and need someone to open the vault for you. I introduce you to someone who can do that, and together you successfully rob the bank. I am just as guilty as the two people who robbed the bank, as I have aided them in committing a felony even though I did not take part in the actual crime. Pirate Bay could have avoided this by either not allowing torrents to copyrighted material to be uploaded to their site, or by simply removing the ones that were. That being said, the courts have decided to prosecute the Pirate Bay founders as a public example to try and scare people out of illegal downloads. When was the last time, before this of course, that you heard of anyone being arrested for illegal downloading? They know it's still going strong, and they know that they don't have the resourses to police it properly. Maybe this is their new tactic; go after the sites hosting the torrent files so that the downloaders have no way of connecting to each other. They'll find ways to connect to eachother. Think of the whole Napster deal. First Napster, then Kazaa, then Limewire... It doesn't look like downloading will stop and imprisoning the owners of those sites may not be the best way. You know the saying "If you can't beat them, join them?" Well, the way I see it is play it smart, for example have a few free downloads and then a small fee necessary. We're in the computer age, who still goes out to buy cd's? iTunes is actually a great idea if you ask me, since it's pretty cheap, and you can get as many songs as your ears desire.

Pirate Bay founders lose trial
Hmm, yes. A search engine. One that controls the whole internet and does so much more then just search for things lol. Idk, I might be wrong, been a while since I got that warning, could've been something else warning me, but still. It may well have been a plug-in to google, such as AVG, mine does it. Google only really connects URL to keywords and each other, it doesn't do much more than that and certainly can't be held accountable for pirate software or any other illegal activity. Thats like blaming a library for somebody taking a chemistry book out, learning how to make a bomb then killing somebody. :| Edit, it's almost 2am for me, mistakes are expected! XD It's 3AM here, so you can expect them more here. And yeah, I probably was wrong when thinking the page was blocked by Google, it was probably just some kind of warning from a 3rd party. Anyway, OT: What I don't get is why they imprison them for 1 year, let them pay a huge amount of money (think it was 4.5M$?) but keep piratebay online? It doesn't make sense lol. It's like... Finding a shop selling drugs, imprisoning the owner but just keeping the shop open.

The blacksmith and the boy.
Since you indented the dialogue it looks a bit better. But like was said, description isn't really your strongest point. It's a good idea, but just needs a bit of tweaking to be great :)

1-99 Hunter in Three Weeks! ::PICTURES UPDATED::
Hmm, I guess the guide itself is good, but the layout needs work. If I want to look for a specific level I end up F3'ing, while I should be able to easily find it.

Pirate Bay founders lose trial
gee, I know another site just like that. It provides links to countless illegal things, but doesn't actually host them themselves. http://www.google.com EDIT: they actually have caches about almost every site, so I guess they're probably storing tons of illegal data. I thought Google would only cache the websites that are... legal. Like, don't the bots look for viruses and illegal things, and then take them off the search results? I'm not sure about this, but I do remember getting a warning from Google when trying to enter a website that supposedly had viruses.

How could life be better?
Hmm, I'm thinking, why would we want life in the first place? If everyone were dead, we wouldn't need to worry about all this. But then you think, if we never lived we would never have experienced the happy sides. Life as it is isn't bad, it just has flaws, and I'll add two very nice sayings here: "Life is simple, but we make it hard," and "For every shadow there is a light cast." Basically ,we need to try not to make big deals out of everything, and we should know that there'll be a bright side, that a bad time will pass if you give it time: Time heals all wounds. So, to answer your question: life can be better if we all just stop making it so hard. If life was a simple thing, where money and such weren't something to make people kill. But we're too far into human evolution to change in such a drastical manner, and a Utopia is and always will be nothing more then a dream.

Journals of a Hero
Hmm, good point, didn't really notice that when I reread the story. Anyway, I edited it a bit now, looks more organized and less like a Wall of Text lol

Things runescape has taught me
I've learned there's no need to worry about animals going extinct, I've killed a bunch of birds and they're still there. I learned that managing a kingdom is easy: put some money in the coffers, tell people what to focus on, then go away and come back for my stoofs.

Next week Dutch, Portugese and Finnish RS forums!
Haha, goed punt. Anyway, to stop talking in Dutch, I don't know about the Finnish and Portuguese, so I won't comment on that, but what the rest has said is true, the Dutch population of the game is really close to [developmentally delayed]ed. I hate playing on Dutch world for that one reason. That and that most Dutch swearing goes through the filter. So yeah, I probably won't use them, I'll stick to the English part before the average IQ on RSOF becomes negative.

Favorite sayings
Hmm. And similar: They're both pretty common quotes so I have no idea who made them although I did think about it before reading them somewhere else. There are many things I can post here, the world says a lot of things lol. But yeah, I forgot most of them.

The reason for this is that the weight that is shown is not the weight of yourself but of your equipment. It makes sense since not only would we weigh nothing if he have no armour on, but we should be levitating by wearing boots of lightness and such. Since when you eat something it goes out of your backpack, it'll make your backpack lighter, but that doesn't mean you lose weight. Kthxbai

Journals of a Hero
Before we start: hey guys, been a while since I went to Varrock Library, so I'm probably forgotten by most. I kinda deserted my other story (no pun intended) since I'm not really sure what to do with it. I don't know if I'll ever continue writing that one, I might one day, but for now it's just history for me, a learning experience. Last time I wrote something has been many months ago, so it might seem a bit bad at first. I'd very much appreciate any criticism, good or bad, so I know what to improve, what to keep, etc. Now about the story itself; it's been in my head a long time. I've been developing ideas and scratching 'em in my head whenever I had nothing to do, and I then came to the way that I'll be writing it now. Hope you guys enjoy. Journals of a Hero Written by Michael Adams, Collected and commented on by Jacob A. Whiteman. Date of first print: 3rd November, 1972. Comments by mr Whiteman: This book contains all the journal entries I have found by dr Michael Adams, who is commonly referred to as Dr. Electro. This man lived a horrible life, contrary to what people believe and I think these journal entries are a perfect portrait made by the man himself. I have collected these journal entries from various locations, most were found at his home in Brooklyn, New York, and others were found scattered around his office. I have taken the liberty to write them all down, so all generations could read the story of this extraordinary man. Everything written here is written by dr Michael Adams, except for the occasional comment by me. Chapter 1: The Greatest Day 3rd November, 1962. Today was a busy day, I've been driving from my office to my home and back all day, preparing the workshop for the grand opening on the fifth. I've been working on this my whole life and I can't have anything go wrong. The machine should be working finely, as my many tests on rats have had a significant effect. I noticed that all the rats I have used as subject lived an average 150% longer then their untested companions. And they were still active to their last days. Rabbits have shown the same test results, so I'm confident. This machine, the XPC1000, should be able to prolong a man's life, while also keeping him more active. The world needs this, and if I succeed I shall be hailed as the new Thomas Edison. This is what my life was for, the climax of those many years of hard labour. I shed sweat, blood and tears for this, but for far too long have I been ignored by my collegues. For far too long have they called me the town idiot, not even worthy of my degrees. But I shall prove them all wrong, and I hope all of them come on the fifth of November, so they can all see they were wrong. I haven't slept properly in 3 days, and I've been drinking coffee like water. This cannot go wrong. No, this shall not go wrong. 12th November, 1962. Horrible, it was horrible. What happened? I don't know. I woke up and found myself lying on a bed in a hospital. What had happened? As soon as the nurse saw me awake she came toward me. "Mr Adams", she said, "you finally woke up. You've been gone for a week since the fifth." This shocked me, as I thought it was a mere dream, a product of my imagination. But it was true. All that could have gone wrong, went wrong. I remember how proudly I stood there, in front of the huge crowd of journalists. Whoever wasn't holding a camera was a rich snob waiting to get prolonged life. There I stood, with the XPC behind me, ready to be unveiled and shown to the public. I was foolish, convincing everyone this machine was safe. I chose myself as volunteer to test the machine, I was going to be the first man to get the currents of this machine through his vains. I felt like God. But God had no mercy with my sinful thinking. As I removed the red curtain that was covering the machine up, and explained what shall happen, I heard it rain. I went on. I positioned myself on the machine and asked my assistant to start it up. Lightning struck and lit up the whole room. I felt the currents go through me. I then got pushed out of the machine with brute force, the lightning had caused a shortcircuit and I was sitting in a machine which should sent 1000's of volts through my veins. The machine went berserk, it started emitting beams of electricity around as if it was lightning, and soon afterwards people started panicking. A curtain caught fire, and soon the whole building followed it. I saw people getting squashed by falling debris, and soon I was to fall victim to the debris myself, feeling something on my head and then passing out. Then I was here, in my hospital bed, just wondering how it could have gone so wrong. As I see my neighbouring patient reading the newspaper, I notice that this accident had caused 13 deaths. All because of me, because of my arrogance. And I was just standing there, watching the people die, and what did I do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I wish I was capable of comitting suicide, as my life has now lost all its meaning. That's what I'll do. I hope this will ever be read and I hope whoever reads it understands that I'm truly sorry.

traveling to Spain next month - any ideas?
Hmm, a shame Barcelona is so far from Gibraltar, (about 11 hours by car according to Google Maps) but if you somehow get a chance to go there, I would suggest it. It's the point of Europe closest to Africa, and if you look very closely you can vaguely see the Atlas mountains in the distance. There's also a bunch of ferries that bring you to northern Morocco and back in one day, but since you're so far from it would be impossible to go there and get back in one day. =/ Specifically for Barcelona, the beach is very nice, I heard. Probably a bit crowded but if you can find a spot you'll probably like it.

What do you mean never came out? That's the members section of varrock with the biohazard guy and the family crest guy. Jagex wanted to make Player House's in classic to compensate for the "Sleeping Bag" used for fatigue. If you notice, only half of that area is even there in RS2. I did notice that, i'm just saying it did come out, even if it isn't pohs. Which we have now anyway. Hmm, yeah, the members section of Varrock, forgot all about that lol. *is thinking of some useless fact* Not really useless, but the pyrefiends and jellies at Soul Wars can be killed as a slayer task :P

What is your biggest and best fail?
Draz, I've got an idea. :ohnoes: Anyway, how about making this thread into a poll seeing who seems to have had the biggest fail to date? Not necessarily a TIF poll since I think that has limited numbers of options (and seeing as we all fail so much we would end up exceeding that limit...). Just an idea :P

Incest, Bestiality, and Polygamy
What the hell man, that is wrong on so many levels. Incest: this is unnatural. In biology I was taught that the only valid reason for incest with any species would be to start somewhere new, where there isn't anyone else. Odds of misformed children and such grow, and it just isn't right. Think of Fritzl, and that Italian guy that encouraged his son to have 'fun' with his sister... It's just wrong. Bestiality: this is wrong on so many levels... Why the hell would a human being have sex with for example a dog. I'm not even [bleep]ing kidding, it's ridiculous. Do you see horses having sex with monkeys? No, so we shouldn't have this kind of thing either. It's just [developmentally delayed]ed. Polygamy: polygamy has actually occurred with people, but I think of it as wrong. It's not right that a man gets to have multiple women that he can just accompany at will, while a woman has to obey the man. Even if it is written by law that such things shouldn't happen, it'll happen. What has OT come to...
