  1. I don't know =( I'm 24 and this question bugs me a lot. I'd like to be a rock singer i guess, but somehow i got this thought in the back of my head, that that isn't a "real job".
  2. As long as everyone actually follows them, they do. People are just ignorant and and don't realize that if everyone did follow the laws, there would be no problems. That's true, but as you know most humans aren't mindless robots and many of them are greedy. When a few start breaking the rules and obtain profit and benefits for it without proper punishment, it will encourage more people to do so. In reality laws are useless, the only thing that matters is how hard they are enforced. In this case, young people may not be greedy but when they see their underage friends driving even though it's illegal, they will be faced with the question "why can't I, then?". You know, there's no reward for obeying the law, and the police don't have resources to stop millions of cars in Ontario just to check the ID's of every driver just in case they're 17 or 16. This law is useless because it is too hard to enforce. Although it seems lately that laws are becoming a problem, because they get stricter after a few greedy people abused the last generation of laws ;\ .. after a few iterations you can't even breath without breaking a law. As long as everyone actually follows them, they do. People are just ignorant and and don't realize that if everyone did follow the laws, there would be no problems. If people weren't ignorant and greedy you wouldn't need laws in the first place.
  3. You lie. Somebody capable of doing all that is beyond my imagination.
  4. i play the guitar and write songs. i find it incredibly creative and even theraputic. and who sais the first few creative things u mentioned arent useful? Yah, i know.. i don't mean it that way. It's just my way to say things.
  5. What made me come up with this topic at all, was that i thought that everybody seems to be wearing clothes off the peg and buy furniture from Ikea. Still many people do creative stuff, but mostly things that can be stored on a hard drive or a sketch book. Well and dancing is nothing concrete either. Sometimes i have the feeling everybody dresses the same and all furniture, all cd players, all cars, everything looks the same. Look into different times and things looked way different, but if you wore clothes from 300 years ago, you'd look like a freak. It would be cool if everybody would dress more unique imo.
  6. Cool! Sounds Epic.. Yah, i know.. i don't mean it that way. It's just my way to say things.
  7. lol! You really don't have to justify yourself. I read a lot myself and for a time a was into dance to (Jazz dance, so not exactly something guys usually do) Mastering the elements? Sounds interesting. What does it mean?
  8. Let's make more laws! Rules will solve every problem!
  9. I just occurred to me, that most people who do something creative make music, write, paint (and draw, photograph, maybe sculpture) or maybe dance. It seems that pretty few people do things like tailoring or designing furniture. In other words make useful things. It's that just the way i'm perceiving it? For my part i'm mostly into music and do some writing to. EDIT: Changed the title twice. Sorry about that.
  10. Well since it's already pretty annoying i thought i might ask if anybody has any clue what i do about this: Clicking the left mouse button often results in unintentional double clicks (wich is pretty annoying for doing anything). I can only circumvent that by doing a very controlled click, with the right amount of pressure, pressing the button not too short and not too long. I thought it to be my mouse (wich was a cheap MS optical) and bought a new one (now an even cheaper ednet optical), but i still have the exact same problem. I even reinstalled windows in between for some reason, yet this problem remains. Odd isn't it?
  11. Cute and innocent. Lemme try one: Some say it's a joyride for most it is pain frustration and doubt, your prayers in vain Some say it's a blessing most perceive it as curse you think it will get better, but it gets worse Some say it's miraculous, to most it is dull without a warning it's suddenly full of shallow pretention of guilt and shame you point your finger, but there's noone to blame Some say it's chance, others it's fate the time you know, it's already too late you have grown old, tired and ill your dreams ground to dust by lifes cruel mill. ^Feel free to correct any errors. English, after all isn't my primary language. Actually i don't really like lyric, unless it is sung and comes with music. To me even the best poem is just a poem. Then again in the right context it might be a fun way to communicate. Also it's creative writing - a form of self expression and as such highly valuable of course. Do i contradict myself? I hope so!

  14. Raaaarrrrwwwww! I REALLY believed him to be dead! The potion thingy is a very, very convincing point though. Add the whole mysterious Snape - Dumbledore relationship... Then again Dumbledore said something about when he makes a mistake it's more grave, because .. i can't remember .. whatever he probably meant Voldemort and not Snape. Also it just doesn't feel right that Snape dum-di-dum kills Dumbledore. That isn't Snapes style. Snape wants Voldemort to be defeated and has severe doubts Harry can do it, that's why he mocks him all the time (like in the end of the 5th book). Still he tries to make Harry a better wizard. And when Rowling says Dumbledore is dead she doesn't lie. As long as she hasn't written that he is alive, he is dead. I bet a dollar we'll see Dumbledore breathing and talking again.
  15. An omnipotent being like god should be above such banal concepts as love or hate.
  16. hehe let me give you an example of the magic worldview (so that you can see where i'm coming from and why this evidence thingy isn't convincing to me): When somebody is looking for something and believes it to be there, he'll find it. or another one: Believes create reality. So evidence really just shows to me, that somebody believes in whatever the evidence is for. If you are convinced of something your reality won't allow any evidence to enter, that could falsify your believes. If you find such evidence, it only shows you had doubts to begin with. The beauty of all that is, that theoretical everything you want to believe in can become reality. Of course all that leads to a construct that can't be falsified and so it isn't scientifical. Doesn't bother me in the least. After all i believe in what i want to believe in, nobody can do anything about that. All your arguments against astrology i heard before and i still believe in it. From telling you my believes you can see, that evidence means nothing to me. Reasoning with somebody who firmly believes in science will lead me nowhere and what i hate about it is that believers in science always assume everybody has to argue according to their rules (with evidence, logic and such, .. scientific methode and so on). So either i play by their rules, wich i don't like, or i'm an idiot in their eyes. That's why i usually avoid such confrontations. From the magicians point of view, all science is magic, but not vice versa. From that point of view astrology is magic to, but most astrologers wouldn't agree with me on that, because many feel that astrology should be accepted as science to. So there you have it. Label me what you will.
  17. I feel if Ltfairy would believe the world is a sphere and Anasthesia and Nadril would believe it would be flat, those two would prove it right against Ltfairy, because they just are better rethorics. EDIT: And more power to crimson!
  18. This whole arguement is leading nowehere. Astrology isn't scientifical accepted. That's a fact. I guess there really is no scientifical evidence. Okay, so what? Science isn't everything. Another fact is, that some people enjoy doing astrology. It somehow works out for them. People lie to themselves all the time, if they lie to themselves about astrology, so what? People also lie to others all the time, if they lie about astrology, so what? I'll just state astrology is BS, for the sake of arguement. (You know it isn't my true opinion, but i'll assume it is.) Maybe they don't care about the science point of view on that. Well, leave them in their flawed believes. Who are we to judge them? Who are we to tell them what's right and wrong, what's true or false? Who are we to believe we have a monopoly on truth?
  19. As said before the accurate time would be the first breath. And for the record i didn't believe in astrology either. Another thing: it was clear from the beginning of the discussion, that it would lead nowhere. So why are we doing this at all?
  20. Just was buying some food and on the way home i wondered, by what means logic is proved.
  21. By the exact same argument you could say that you don't want to believe in something and interpret it so that you can't.
  22. the ascendent wanders one degree every 4 minutes, so +- 2 minutes won't really matter in most cases. You can correct the birth time, interpolating from other factors. It was easy with my and the horoscope of my sister, because our father became ill (he still is) when we were kids. Using the technic of the progressive, where you rotate the axis by 1̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð per year, you just need to see what it does hit, when my father became ill. In my case it's the pluto that's 3̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð below the ascendent (i was 3), in my sisters case pluto is 5̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð below the ascendent (she was 5). You are serious about believing in magic aren't you? I am not the one proposing something which cannot be proven. So you are proposing i do not exist, because it can not be proven?
  23. Yeah, we all know about selective perception. The relevant time is the time of the first breath. I am not interpreting horoscopes to see whether they apply to myself or not. I am looking at the subject critically and objectively with regards to evidence of how it works. There is no room for bias since my opinion has not entered into it. You are serious about that one, aren't you?
