Runescape and MMORPGS... Nerd Haven?
Touche :-k . Your point on the age of the count was the known flaw in my argument, but you can't argue that you can't base someone's playing time of their levels, at least to a certain extent :P .

Weather; does it effect your emotions?
I used to love and feel happy with thunderstorms, until I realized I was just saying that to seem different and special. Oh well, drizzles and mist are still all right in my book.

Runescape and MMORPGS... Nerd Haven?
I'm 6'2", 180 pounds of muscle, absolutely gorgeous and sexy, have three girlfriends, two of which have DD's, lead an amazing social life of glory and grandeur, am an eliquent speaker and debater, head of more clubs than you can count, a member of even more, and of course everyone loves me more than Mahatma Gandhi. I am totally not a nerd. Totally. Did I mention I'm the head of the football, soccer, and track teams? Yah, totally not a nerd. Now that I've got that out of my system, on to my post. Your need to defend yourself creates doubts. Hate the "compare us to them" justification, as well as apathy towards someone's health. Mainly social health in this matter- Runescape kills social well being, and little good comes from it other than it being a more colorful IM-like java applet. If you care about someone, and Runescape is detrimental to that person (usually is), interventions aren't exactly a bad thing. No, they're just introverts. It's just that the "geek" and nerd" circles largely coincide with the "introvert" cirles on the Venn Diagram. THANK YOU. Someone logical on this thread. Everyone, stop defending yourselves. It's annoying, pointless, and gives us the complete opposite image of you to us that you want to project. HA! If that isn't nerd denial, I don't know what is. Your need to defend yourself... badly... creates doubts. Your need to defend yourselves creates doubts. Yet strangely logical based on the correlated information it offers of the amount of time the players spends on the game.

commedic/nasty names? how do you like em? read post first
Comments like that make me realize the arrogance of humans. They're just having fun. No need to be condescending about their non-detrimental jubilance. Neither will you on this forum, if you keep that attitude up. I believe it was Mark Twain who said it, "There's nothing more depressing than a young pessimist". Besides, if you're going to act like you're better than everyone on this thread, at least try and make your post at least partially on topic, even if this thread may be too humorous for your cynical tastes.

I'm going to start playing.
Dang, I was beginning to have the highest regards for this forum, going so many posts without this. Oh well, you broke the ice, guess this thread's fated to fall into the frozen waters. Good job. As for the thread itself... :-k . Don't trust people too much, that'll hurt you in the long run. As a general rule, never give something away if you aren't willing to lose it.

No one respects Capes of Achievements..
No, you're not, but everyone with 99 construction is. Good one there pal. I don't even have it. I guess I forgot to put [/sarcasm]. Con is easy it just takes money... Heh, well put. "Just takes money", ya couple dozen million gp, not too much of a dent in da good ol' wallet! I don't play the game, and if I may so arrogantly say so, I've found in the past that I'm known and hated on this specific forum for my complete lack or respect for items or accomplishments of players in the game. But things like Construction, Lava, Slayer etc. Capes, or actions such as being the first to fight a boss monster, that I respect. I respect patience, guts and skill in the game (for the few areas that need it), and if you can't respect patience and skill, I can't see you respecting much of anything. Tad arrogant, if I may say so myself. What's wrong with congrats or 'grats :-s ?

Do you believe in "aliens"
Er, depends how you look at it relavitely, but there are probably uncountable sentient civilizations in the universe. They're just a lot of space between 'em. You not a fan of the Milley-Urey experiment :-s ? It's pretty much foundationally proven the base of the creation of life on Earth. No need to dumb it down to "spontaneous creation" and "a lightning bolt and some sludge", as if to make some point by doing so. Yes, but there is no precedence for that kind of life formation here or on any planet that we've examined, so the current basic criteria for a life-sustaining has to include water. No one says that life couldn't be formed other ways, it's just there's nor evidence for other reasons beyond the current criteria.

Weather; does it effect your emotions?
Yah, I like rainy days more than sunny days, but it's hard to beat the kind of weather where there's a light shower/drizzle coming down with the sun shining through a small break in the clouds. It's rare, but that puts me in the best of moods.

Africans Less Intelligent Than Westerners?
? Oh, it's just a prototype. Remember? we were each going to make our own prototypes, compare, and decide on a final, better model between the two.

Africans Less Intelligent Than Westerners?
 ctp, just fixing out the kinks on that device that'll let ya punch people across the internet. Should be up and running soon.

The "Cost" Of A Mature Conversation?
:P Just sayin'. Considering the fact that no one ever reads through the thread, I was making a more inconspicuous point that you probably wouldn't have seen it, and continued from there.

What Are YOUR Views On 99 Fletching And Cooking?
But you didn't offer a rebuttal. You just said the same thing, your opinion, and decided that it was equal without defending it in any way, shape, or form. We don't think your opinion is "evil" ( , attempted straw man?), we just think it's wrong. As of yet, again, you have not given a reason why a skill becomes more difficult if there is less positive profit waiting at the end. And quite it with the holier than thou attitude if you're going to wholeheartedly get into a debate but in the end get nowhere near a quarter of the way through it.

Rowling Says Dumbledore Is Gay.
Well, that's random.

Rowling Says Dumbledore Is Gay.
Just because you're gay doesn't make you a pedofile, moron. It was a joke... I think :-w .

Do you believe in "aliens"
Something about us being the superior, God-given race, and that we should enslave this new race under divine mandate. Or something along those lines.

The "Cost" Of A Mature Conversation?
But if you read through the thread, I asked indirectly whether or not he was just doing that as bait, and he was. I do it all the time to grammar nazis, making a response about how one shouldn't waste their time correcting spelling, while purposely putting spelling errors in my message to see who's annoying enough to ignore my post and correct a most-likely-typo. I'm not entirely sure why he did it here, possibly out of boredom, but he's spelling words wrong on purpose, and people are wasting time correcting him to boost their ego's instead of responding properly to the thread topic. And yes, beyond the fact that the bait was taken, spelling ability and maturity are not in a direct correlation, though they're close based on the fact that both maturity and spelling ability rise with age.

What Are YOUR Views On 99 Fletching And Cooking?
 Wow, I've heard my share of evasion tactics, but that's a new one on me. If you think you're right, defend your argument. Don't just go "oh, uh, that's your opinion, er... ya, it's just an opinion, and because I say so, without defending myself, it's just as valuable as mine". That's not how a debate works, and it's completely incorrect considering the fact that one of you (Solidus) is right, since this isn't a subjective matter. Now, tell us, how does a skill offering less profit than another make it harder to train? If you think your opinion has any weight to it at all, you must have at least one rebuttal point for God's sake.

What Are YOUR Views On 99 Fletching And Cooking?
But that very divergence of opinion is the reason why you can't look at it from the perspective of the person you "hate". Even when I still respected and admired achievements in Runescape, the Cooking and Fletching capes did not make it above my personal Respect [for a Player] Bar. No one here flames people for having 99's, they just find it hilarious that the majority of owners of Cooking and Fletching Capes revel in two weeks of "work", as well as expect everyone to be in awe of their two weeks of afk'ing. From my perspective this opinion may not hold much water, seeing as how I don't play the game anymore, but I can't personally find any reason to admire or respect something that takes two weeks of watching movies and playing games on one's computer while the Runescape window is open open behind the webpage the player's browsing. Fletching and Cooking just aren't all that difficult to obtain, and I personally doubt that most of the people here have their own Respect Bars either (a) uniformally placed, so as to allow for proper judgement (something Capes can dissolve) or (B) low enough that they'd respect two weeks of afk'ing. I don't see how anyone could possibly care that much to be at the more logical, yet ludicrous (B), so my current assumption is that the fact that they're 99's, [along with other psychological reasons, such as the fact that the Capes all cost the same, or a form of denial because one aspires to have the Capes themselves one day] creates a sort of illusion in everyone's mind that they somehow deserve as much respect, or at least almost as much respect, as any other cape. Logically speaking, that is a beyond incorrect mindset, yet a mindset sadly at least 80% of the people on this thread, including the above quoted player, has. Now, I'll ask again, anyone care to offer a rebuttal? But the measure here is difficulty, not incentive [from nonnegative] profit. Your point is incorrect based on the fact that nonnegative profit incentive does not affect maximum or minimum experience per hour, nor does it affect costs, and thus does not correlate in any way to the difficulty of a skill. Your anecdotal point is also meaningless in this specific debate. You are arguing the incentive gained by profit, and yet your agility analogy has absolutely nothing to do with profit, but it does have everything to do with the skill itself- the difficulty of enduring monotony, without the freedom of afk'ing, something Agility trainers must get through to gain levels. So please, offer us a more logical and pertinent analogy to explain your point, because I as of yet fail to see the proper reasoning behind it. Oh, and add sarcasm tags around your first statement please. It's quite humorous, but it would be even more so if it was clearler that you were joking when you said that.

Misfile
First thing I thought as soon as Em opened the garage door :-w . But now we've got to wait 'til Monday until (1) Emily asks "hey, what's she doing here?" as the girl leaves, leaving Ash to explain the matter in the way he does best- the complete opposite of the way he should respond. That, or (2) Emily might FINALLY get back on the Misfile subject. Or both. Compared to past predictions I don't really have high beliefs for these two guesses, but it does feel plausible that one, the other, or both will occur. Don't waste any money betting on it though, because the first is more of a joke, and may occur in one panel at most, and the second, well, the mood of the scene doesn't seem to fit that prediction/hope (too much jubilance and relaxation, especially in Emily's case). Eh, one can hope, and those two predictions are my best guesses and hopes for the next scene of Misfile :-w . On a side note, anyone else notice that this comic may have a homo:hetero ratio of about 3:1 :-k ?

I never get deja vu; can't remember a single time I ever have. Guess I can be the special non-special one?

Wow I hate cannons...
Yes you can. Unless something changed since I quit, there's a window between each cannon shot where you can get an attack in and steal the monster, unless the player himself is attacking the monster along with his cannon. But ya, too lazy to get the data on the ogres, so carry on.
-
Wow I hate cannons...
Or, you know, you could wait until the cannon went around and take a monster with a free 30 damage on it for you. Trust me, there are much worse things in Runescape than cannon-users. If you work with them, you can get the same amount of experience per hour while getting even more drops than usual, and who doesn't want that? Though, I havn't played Runescape in a few months, so I'm sure there's got to be at least one flaw with my argument :-k .

Why do blacks get special treatment?
'Cause people think blatant, conscious racism still exists [on at least a minor scale], when the only real racism nowadays is subconscious, and even then not really based on race but more so on group affiliation. It's hilarious.
