  1. I like using potions to fill the bank. Have a bunch of empty vials and 4 dose potions. You can, er, un-combine 4 dose potions into 2 dose potions and vice-verca. This is useful so you can have a little wiggle room for modifying how full or empty your bank is. I just take a bunch of crap outta my costume room in my PoH, then use potions for the rest.
  2. Farming is good money once you get to whatever level toads are, last I checked. Really, probably all herb patches make a profit, come to think of it.
  3. Because you're on a RuneScape fansite, not a IhateRuneScape fansite.
  4. Not really. The victim was a hoarder. The Santas sat in her bank all the time, so either way, it's like Santas never existed on the market because they weren't a part of the supply. Santas were fluctuating all the time even when she had 1K Santas in her bank. Demand for Santas went up because she was hoarding them, thus restricting the supply. Demand for Santas will remain the same because having them removed is essentially the same as not trading that wealth at all, thus keeping the supply the same as before: restricted. Because of this, I would argue that the Santas being removed have a minimal affect on the economy. All the idiots (and there are a lot of them) are panicking because they are too dumb to realize this. Once these [developmentally delayed]s come to their senses in a few days, the market will stabilize. Agreed. The market in actuality has the same levels of supply -- at least -- for Santas as it had before the victim's items were removed. The only real thing to fear for the market is panic trading which influences demand, as I outlined before in one of my earlier posts in this thread. It always seems to go back to not thinking the issue through enough. :P I was reading an article in the paper today about emotional investment. Apparently who wins the Super Bowl can have a significant impact on the economy. Emotional reactions to some sort of event has a much, much larger effect then the event in general. This applies everywhere as a general rule. I dont see any indication of a similar stipulation in the Metin 2 case. Still think that Jagex can hide behind their ToS when other companies couldnt? See, see, from what I see there, that is a much more relevant example then one player going to cout against another player for item theft. Personally, considering she isn't active now, I'd expert her to take one look at her account, say [bleep] it, maybe a few tears/yt vids, and move on with her life. I wouldn't expect her to have much of an emotional reaction to it if she isn't active on RS, I'd just expert her to remove herself even further from RS.
  5. Honestly, if you want to talk about how bad the game is, fine. Nothing new. There's no need to say [cabbage] all over the place like your in the two girls 1 cup room or something. On the other hand, I will give you a point for originality, as this IS slightly different then all the threads I see about how [cabbage]ty RS is.
  6. Same here. I noticed it said the 31 vs the 1 earlier. So I suppose you don't mind getting a Jr. Sandwich when you buy a Large then? I won't notice/care if McDonalds cuts off a 1cm slice from my pickle on a bigmac, no...
  7. Honestly, if it's a really good lure.....you're talking someone to either dangerous CLW or Wilde. Either place you need to be prepared to die in the first place. Either that or bug abuse, which you can't really prepare for. OFFtopic: this new forum update thingy really seemed to mess up hide tags...
  8. FML

Trying to take the misc items in MEP2 to dwarf for the talisman, failed at turning the crystal at one point, then re-did half the quest only to later discover I didn't need to redo nearly as much as I did. Dunno if I FML there, but....
  9. Pah. Do tell? Only thing I can think of is merching/gambling, or perhaps a more subtle wilderness/unsafe CLW which you should expect to die in anyways....
  10. Well, PK vids you really gotta be careful of - it is the wilderness. If you pick nothing up, move only with the map, make sure you don't lose anything you don't want to, you should be fine. And have auto on for the part where they attack you. But you really gotta be careful - I'm sure people have tried to work auto retaliate into getting a person skulled. Says the guy who has died twice in the wilde with a blue h'ween, blue nomads cape and blue dark bow. As for doubling money/armour trimming, unless they actually give it to you in that trade, treat it like a scam. As in, trading Saradomin Rune Armour for rune armour, or paying 2m for your 1m. Otherwise it's a scam*. *There might be an exception to that, but really, you should just consider it a scam. Anyways, people who double money and trim armour probably derive their amusement out of the fact that they sound like what 90+% of the money doubles or armour trimmers are, aka scammers.
  11. EDIT: Woo! First post! Ok articles - Jagex would do more good for clans by improving infrastructure, be it clan chats, allowing some sort of official-ish clan website, something that could be tried to the RSOF, and the voice chat they've been talking about, rather then all these events. Plus, all the events seem to do is promote the really large clans anyways. At least, that's the impression I get, no that I'd really be one to notice, but still... As for the second article, beware, scammers/lurers are out there and want your crap. Still, sometimes you gotta get hurt by one of the scams to truly learn from them. I picked up 4 noted DBAs in the wilderness YEARS ago while being with some guys for a "video" about a whip PK.... Decent articles imo, good but nothing particularly special about them.
  12. I'd try out holy water there if it wasn't for the fact that I heard it didn't work.... Also, the general rule I've heard on range weapons is Hadcannon > X bow > CCbow > R C bow. Remember, this is RS - slower, more accurate weapons tend to fail against faster, weaker weapons, at least once you're maxed. And using overloads.

You cooooooooooould just look at the person counting. There's animation for pulling the lever, last time I checked. Pull da lever when you see him pull da lever. And obviously, your assumption there was wrong, as you said. You also aren't DG'ing with DG Elites. Obviously that was the convention for DG elites, but it isn't the convention anymore. ANYways. There is no right or wrong way to count. Counting 3 - 2 - 1 - GO is just as valid as 1 -2 - 3 and pulling on 3. The trick is to adapt.
  14. What if it's just for the 99, an achievement independent of the cape? Zezima, Novalyfe (or something) and....maybe one other person spent YEARS being the only maxed people on the highscores table. Since skillcapes have come out, the amount has increased one hundred fold. I think the capes should all have minimal stats. And in particular the Uber cape. Because if you love Melee - Strength, attack and defence, but not Dungeoneering and getting 99 in all skills. Then you will not be able to get Uber cape if it turns out to have crazy melee stats. Seriously, why should a player who loves 3 skills have to get 99 in all skills as well reach CRAZY 104M/120 dungeoneering? So with that said, i hope that all capes are decorative and if they do have stats that it can't compare with current capes. I don't see a problem with say, the quest cape or the uber cape giving +12 prayer though. Because you need to have access to soul wars capes to unlock those two capes anyways. That was more or less my main idea anyways. You also need to have access to the alterter for the Uber cape. And the fire cape. What I want is that the uber cape is not inferior to any other cape in the game. So, either taking the highest stats of nomads cape, fire cape, alterter (not to mention arrow retreiving ability) god capes (you don't technically need that for the uber cape, but really....) However, I realize that might be overpowered. Idk. Maybe make it so you can change the uber cape into basically one of those versions? I'm just not a fan of the concept of picking a different cape then your fave skillcape or whatnot simply because another cape has better stats. Ma for rings take a week, for Uber cape it could take years. But my point is that you can't say that if you like for example combat, you HAVE to be ablo to get every useful combat item in the game. Herblore benefits combat, firemaking benefits ranged (hand cannon), dungeoneering benefits combat, MA benefits combat. If they released a cape which takes years to get and which has slighly better stats than any other cape, it would be ok. That won't happen though, but dont assume that you have to be able to get all items you want easily. RS seriously needs more extremely high lvl stuff imo. And not just because I have maxed overall, I've thinked like that for years now. Actually I'd prefer 120 or 126 level caps. RuneScape doesn't allways have to be about getting the very best gear and/or the very best stats. All i am saying is that items benefiting archers/mages and warriors should not be beyond extreme to obtain. It should be as hard or harder than Elite diary requirements. But WHY are you saying that when there's no reason to believe that any of these capes will have insane stats? Your argument has no basis whatsoever. I'm sorry. It's all my fault. It really is. You see, I don't want this thing INFERIOR to any existing cape, so I tried suggestion that it take the best attributes of all the high end capes (alterter, godcapes, fire cape, Nomad's cape) which seemed to have started all this. (All of those capes offer something/better then any other cape.) lol. That would just confine it to 'people who have played for 10 years and can merch or didn't trade their holiday items within 8 years'. I think they should definately be within the cost range of the 120 cape, the whole point of them is to show that you've been in the game for 10 years, not that you have loads of rs money. I've been around about 9 years and don't have piles of cash to show for it :P Yeah idea good stats automatically = rich is dumb. I get by and do things bit by bit but my money making skills BLOW. Sure I prob have 250mil in various equipment and supplies, but I rarely have more than 10mil in cash and even thts only from saving up for weeks. DUDE. They should totally make a money cape. To get the money cape you have to be part of the money guild. To get in the money guild you simply have to pay membership dues. RS being RS, you pay your "dues" once. The membership dues are 2147483648 GP. I don't really think it could be called that. There are many things the ubercape seems to leave out. The requirements for the cape they listed seem a bit underwhelming for something aimed at completionists. An actual uber cape would have someone do stuff like: Have max total and questpoints Complete all tasks Defeat all champions Own a complete Dahmaroc statue and Royale Cannon Unlock Flames of Zamorak, Saradomin Strike, Claws of Guthix and Bones to Peaches Have the titles of War-chief and Expert Dragon Archer It might just seem like piling on random requirements, but shouldn't an uber cape be something that people truly have to work for? It would barely take a day to complete every task, probably less than two weeks to do the quests, and by then it'd be surprising if you don't have all music unlocked yet. It just doesn't feel like Jagex put much imagination into it. If it was released now it'd probably be more common than a professional cape. This post confuses me. The Uber cape requires all maxed total, all quests, and all tasks if I'm not mistaken. That ain't easy. There's what, 300 or so maxed people? Considering there's only like 300 and some people maxed, I don't think we need to add anything else to the Uber cape.
  15. Actually, pretty sure tiaras are faster exp if you want to spend a bunch of money. Also, considering looking into combination runes, specifically lava runes. I've heard that at (relatively) lower RC levels it can be faster exp then ZMI. Personally, I'd just do ZMI anyways.
  16. According to the Jmods the drop rate is going to be boosted back up with the next update (as it's a glitch associated with the RoW update, just like the guaranteed sigil drops and such). So, strictly speaking, the best way to get charms right now is patience. Source please?
  17. LOL. Although I don't quite like the cynicism, this is the best, simplest explanation I've seen to explain it. Yeah. Basically, if you repeat a floor and get another one in the same theme checked off, you'll get the exp for whatever floor is lower.
  18. Sir_Squab replied to Lep's topic in Rants
Yes, must be me. Even though even in this thread there are multiple people saying they each do it differently. I went from 1-93 dung early in 2010 and almost every single team would say 3,2,1,go which were coincidently the people you always got 30 minute floors on average with; the people who use real life logic in RuneScape - real life logic being how a countdown actually works. Only rarely you'd get the odd noob who counted differently, but the majority of that would never happen because you'd only dung with people who knew what they were doing. So far, now that I've returned toi doing dung, I've seen; "1,2,3" and "3,2,1" and "1,2,3 and go" and 1, 2, go. Never once have I seen 3,2,1,go. Must be because all of the good dungers are already 120 dung and quit. So be it, if I have to think illogicly them I will. Explain. How is counting up to 3 (1, 2, 3) then pulling on 3 more illogical then going "3 2 1 go" or "1 2 3 go" It's just a system to get people to pull at the right time. In DGS, I've always seen "Pull on 3" then a count up to 3. I don't see why one is "logically" better then the other. And if you try to bring up the point about "standardization," I'd like to point out that, from what you said, it seems as though you were the only one who messed up the first time. Really, your rant makes no sense. They said count to 3, he counted to 3, you didn't pull. So they try again, and sitll mess it up.... I'd expect one to notice that, hey, there wasn't a go, everybody pulled on 3, I should do that too.
  19. Maybe Jagex would return items in the future? I think it would only make sense. Easier to just not return items. Things can get too dispersed - hack, say, a P hat set, buy all the nex drops and all the spirit shields, the people who sold those go spend that money on all sorts of things.... Can easily get too complicated. Better to just not. While that section describes RWT, it also applies to any items in general. ANYTHING on your account (items, xp, time, ect..) belongs to Jagex. Just because you spend 100 hours of your personal time to buy items with other virtual items does not mean your "time" gives you rights to those items. So the point is, the Hats were, and always are, property of Jagex and not the player. You are simply renting them. If a rented car is stolen, does the insurance company reimburse you for any damages to the car? No. They would reimburse the car company. In this scenario Jagex is both the insurance company and the car company. You (as the consumer) can't sue the insurance company for not giving you money for a rented car.. You are simply out of luck with the old car, and have to work to rent a new one. Back atcha: Court Ruling in Runescape Case (Netherlands) or perhaps you prefer some examples from British law: Terra Nova Blog We are already seeing cases where the rule of law conflicts with the ToS. In those cases, law trumps ToS. In the current situation, Jagex removed the opportunity for law to run its course by deleting the stolen items before the rule of law had a chance to take its course. Now of course, Jagex can just whip up a thousand hats if the legal process dictated it, so there is no real harm done (yet) in deleting the hats. But its folly to suggest that Jagex TOS protects them from ever having to do so. I'd like to point out that your example case is a PLAYER of the game taking items from another PLAYER of the game. The boys who got sentenced were also breaking the GAME rules. So that example doesn't do anything towards determining what would happen in a case of player-owned in-game items vs all the property technically belonging to Jagex. Furthermore, Jagex is just doing what they've always historically done.
  20. Considering blessing doesn't even cost prayer points, I'd bless. Haven't had much experience with needing to be blessed though. I don't think my game has ever crahsed since that funny 'u' alt code glitch. Last time I died was at TDs, which I can easily get back to anyways. Even with the old 5 minute timer of the Angel of Death. Then they made it 6 minutes and now the dwarven one is 15... I don't think getting blessed 2/2 times really proves anything. Die 10+ times on different worlds, then it might. Just might.
  21. Warship? What? And what's this item above the blue d hide and beside the kyatt pouches? Also, for those wondering about not using tabs, I think the thing is this person managed to get a good, organized bank system going before tabs and such, and thus doesn't want to swtich to a new organizational system.
  22. Although I believe this to be true in most cases, you're talking about someone with over 1k santas. Kinda makes her a target. Honestly, I feel pretty neutral towards this to be honest. The policy is nothing new, and I don't think Jagex should change their policy just because this is a famous rich person. Although you see that IRL, so....
  23. Alching is horrible exp imo. You could try just combat magic, bursting rock lobs.... More options available if you've done lunars, although I get the feeling you haven't. And you can't sell runes to shops in Tzhaar for tokkul for Onyx's anymore.
  24. for dread have 4-5 maging it, if it targets you then run around the room you shouldn't be using blast spells you should be using surge spells for blink, it's easier with more people as you have more people to cover more areas for pillars Ah ok, so would it be worth upgrading my blaster ring to tier 5ish or higher for just dread? And I was using blasts because it's all I had available at that time. Blaster doesn't affect him. 20 bucks says it does... Blaster is the entangle one, right? I know the entangle ring setting works on whathisface brute boss from the abandoned floors. Tired atm... As for the floor update, it basically gives you the lower of the exp of the floors you're doing vs the one being checked off. Hence it's best to do whatever floor (in the correct theme of course) that the team can do. You don't get exp for a higher floor then the one you are actually doing.
  25. There were only 3 people back in the day before skillcapes who maxed all skills, because there was a distinct lack of motivation. Between all the skillcapes and the maxed forums, there's suddenly motivation.
