Today...
Well then, I found out why my A/C hasn't been working for the last week. It's been frozen over! After I noticed it stopped working I didn't even bother checking it or turning off the A/C so now it's just a big block of ice that is slowly defrosting. Oh well, now I know not to keep it running forever.

Nestle: Buy Our Candy So We Can Hunt You Down
@Ginger: Who's in a dense crowd for 24 hours? @chenw: You'd be amazed how small technology can be these days. Not only that, but it could be made out of digestible materials as well. As long as it doesn't poison or harm a person they can put it in food.

The way I understand it, the GPS device is inside of the candy.

Nestle: Buy Our Candy So We Can Hunt You Down
How will you feel when it's embedded in the wrapper of every piece of food you buy? Every consumer product? Sown into the lining of your clothes? Yes, this is most likely just as it appears on the surface, but privacy invasion is a slippery slope. It's bad enough that the mics and gps on our increasingly ubiquitous cell phones can be activated remotely. I don't need them tracking my candy too. LIke Alg, I am also a wee bit paranoid. :P It's not a slippery slope, there isn't even a slope. This doesn't really effect anything else at all. I mean seriously, someone knows where we are! *gasp* If you participate in the census or are listed in the phonebook it's the same thing.

Pokemon Thread
Only a couple of weeks until BW 2 come out. This is the first time I've had to buy both versions since everyone I know who plays Pokemon is miles away from me...

I don't even know what happened.. She and PW were suntanning naked in France, pics were taken and are about to be published. I ended up googling them out of curiosity. Since the photographer used digital zoom, they're not the most flattering pictures. I haven't, I don't really care. It's kind of sad that such a big deal about it is being made tbh. It's just a naked woman, you can find pictures of those anywhere... Yeah but this is KATE MIDDLETON! She was famous at some point.

Do they get anything for that? Do they at least get to shake hands with the Queen?

Stupidest things you've gotten grounded for?
Even so, my grandparents and a myriad of older folks use Facebook. They can only use what information you give them, and all that's required is your name and email address.

I was getting pretty excited about seeing my band perform their new show at a football game in a couple of weeks, but then I remembered that a person I hate is a drum major... She doesn't even care about the band she just wants to be able to put as much stuff on her college applications as possible.

I was also offered... oral sexual favors by one of the neighborhood girls and my brother's friend showed me her boobs. My childhood was interesting....

In America, way back when everyone was a farmer, school was let out in the summer so that children could help their parents with the farm and stuff. We just kept it because who wouldn't want summers off? I've never understood the reasoning behind the American schooling summer break. In Australia school starts early in the year (late January and finishes early December, I think uni starts in February.) The breaks are split up in to 4 parts, with the longest being between December and January. Definitely prefer it since it means that the schooling year is in line with the calendar year, and I get to relax a few times during the year. They call it summer break for a reason. I can't imagine being stuck in a classroom in July in +35° weather. Oh please, anyone can take that kind of weather in an air conditioned room. Sports teams and marching band have to actually be out there in the heat weeks before school starts.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Personally, I think he should go for it. We've all pretty much agreed that Claire either doesn't know what or how to say what she wants, but ending up in the situation with Noxx again, and him being assertive will pretty much force her to give an answer. If she accepts Noxx's advances then all is good, if she doesn't he needs to explain to her that they can't keep ending up naked in bed together and still be "just friends".

Sleep
I've found that trying to manually "shut off" my brain puts me to sleep quickly. Completely relax your body, breathe slowly, try to make your heartbeat slower, imagine total darkness, feel like you're slowly falling in a never ending hole, and then suddenly it's morning. The only downside is that I've never remembered a dream when I do this...
