I don't understand what corporations have to do with anything. If Obamacare goes through then corporations that have health care plans for their employees will be saving money, which means they'll either increase wages, hire more people, put more funds towards R&D so we can have better products, pocket the extra cash for themselves, or any combination of those 4 things. If it doesn't go through then they'll just keep providing health care plans like normal.

My only objection (if I were at all involved in any of this and thus in a position where I had any right to object of course) would be if she lives with her parents, and you showing up unannounced will be a burden on them. That would be pretty rude and inconsiderate, and a terrible way to get accepted by her family unless they have a thing for inconvenient and inconsiderate house guests. This is also something to keep in mind for later in life. No one in the history of ever has ever been pleased to have surprise company show up (in particular as it applies to surprise company staying long enough to be fed, or needing a place to sleep). Being helpful around the house can mitigate the resentment in many cases, but the truth is your always inconveniencing people, no matter how happy they may seem to be to see you. There are circumstances where it is acceptable to impose on other people, such as your house burning down or your parents throwing you out of their house, but your not enriching their lives by doing so. Just thinking of some people I know. One family in particular does a lot of imposing on one of my aunt and uncles time during the summer. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't (or if the wife in particular) such unpleasent people to be around for extended periods, and if they actually did anything to help out while they visited, rather than just mooching. That's true... She lives with just her dad. I can put myself in a hotel for a couple of days and buy my own food though, so I won't be much of a burden to them if I do that. I feel like I have to go so that I can actually see her for the first time in four years and meet her father, who like I've said before starting hating me as soon as I started dating his daughter. I'll probably have to talk to her about this...

I'm thinking about driving to Missouri to see my girlfriend in August. I can handle the driving distance but I'm mostly afraid of how her, her dad, and my family will react to me just jumping up and heading out unexpectedly. I think it's high time I finally take some risks in my life. I need to start doing things that would normally seem "crazy" if I really want to get the things I want.

I don't see the big deal about needing to have health insurance. Here in Texas it's mandatory to have auto insurance and the only ones who complain about it are those who are having trouble affording it, but I'm hearing more hate about Obamacare from people who think their rights are being broken than people who can't afford another mandatory charge.

I think the best bet for the Equalists right now is to just be a peaceful protest organization. Maybe teach people a bit of chi blocking so that they can defend themselves against thug benders. yes please. I am very disappointed by the finale. Amon's unmasking left me feeling like a Scooby-Doo style reveal, only to find out the culprit was a character that didn't even exist until the moment he was unmasked. And why is Aang's spiritual representation him as a 40 year old? His statue is of a 12 year old. We all knew and loved him as a 12 year old. Why not keep him that way? Could they really have lost the interest of the voice actor that easily? Korra's de-unbending prowess is also pointlessly stupid, though . I hope Boomi plays a bigger role next season. He seems fun. I don't understand why anyone would want Amon to be a character from TLA. LOK is supposed to stand alone from TLA. Sure there are some references and a little bit of connection, but having Amon be somebody from TLA would just be random and uncreative. Also, every Avatar ghost has been respresented by how they looked when they died. Having Aang be 12 would have been awful.

This whole season gave me at least 3 more reasons for why waterbending is the most overpowered bending.

I'm at the hotel that I'm staying at while I'm attending my college's NSO. There's absolutely no signal but thankfully there's free wifi. My bed is competing in a World's Least Comfortable Bed contest and I'm being blasted with heat by the dehumidifier next to me and the ceiling fan above me.
