Who are you again? Some loser. ;) Who be you? That's Albel, OT's resident baritone player.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
It kind of shows self doubt, mistrust, or both in a person if they need a ring to be reminded not to cheat or lie to their partner.- Favorite OTers?

I just read the comments of a Yahoo! news article about Kim Kardashian being covered in flour. Holy crap those commenters are just as bad as, if not worse than, Kardashian. I don't know about you guys, but I respect the hell out of anyone being able to make a lot money by doing very little work. If you can make a profit at your own wedding then you've got to be doing something right.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice

Eh? Apart from the fact that there is some kind of tournament, I see practically no connection to the Goblet of Fire...also, if you say terrible ending...have you read all 3 books? Kids competing in a bloody tournament, very similar to it. No, just the first and it had a shitty ending. I've heard the third has a really bad ending too, not sure if I'll read it. Gotta disagree here. It shares similar traits but the underlying story is vastly different. Goblet of Fire is just a usual tournament, though tuned to Voldemort's purposes and it's essentially irrelevant, just a means to get Harry to Voldemort, which is the main story really. At the same time hunger games is kids directly fighting against each other, because they're forced to do so by an oppressive regime. I have read both books and beyond superficial stuff I don't really see many parallels here. One thing I never understood about the Hunger Games, is why does the government force their kids to fight each other...? Sounds so unrealistic. In Battle Royale, it's both a military research project and a way to terrorize the population.- Today...

I am interested in the anti-bender revolt because it seems to show that they want to abandon the traditions of "bending" to move onto the more modern setting that is being set up. Granted, I might be looking too into it but seeing how the whole spinoff looks modernized, they fit in rather perfectly. I am hardly interested in the Avatar at all compared to the political strife occurring, which might be what makes the anti-benders the most appealing aspect to me. I don't think they want to "abandon" the traditions of bending so much as wanting to give non-benders the chance at a good life. How many non-benders weren't portrayed as peasants or servants in TLA? I can only think of one. Come to think of it, I think the only ones that weren't shown as peasants or struggling to make ends meet were nobles and a large portion were jerks or evil to some degree, and there wasn't much middle ground unless you counted the head of the Northern Water Tribe (minding that the society at the time was a bit sexist to the idea of females using waterbending for combat). I will need to re-watch the TLA to count how many "normals" were living decent lives but were nice or decent in personality. Off the top of my head: Fire Nation: Ti-Lee, Mai Earth Kingdom: Earth King, Toph's parents, the Guru, Kyoshi Warriors, Water Tribe: All of the southern water tribe (Aside from Hama and Katara), and many royals in the northern water tribe Other: Jet and the freedom fighters You could also count non-major characters who weren't mentioned/appeared briefly, although the show didn't ever state that they weren't benders at all. Also Lo and Li, Azula's advisors.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
The Earth King was a pretty decent person, although a bit naive, and a non-bender. I guess you could also argue for the Kyoshi warriors. - Mega Millions grows to estimated $640 million
