Is there a God?
Well... Since I am *clearly* an ignorant [wagon], I am done with this topic. Faith is all that one should need. If one day when I die, and there is no Heaven or Hell. Why should I care? I'm dead. But if there is, and all of the unbelievers are in the latter of the two. Maybe I'll just smile. Mods: Feel free to edit this as you see fit. I imagine that if there is some kind of diety out there that they would much rather have their subjects not do anything than blindly devote their lives to something else. Remember that there were hundreds of religions before Christianity, and Christianity itself is broken into many sects. What makes your religion any more correct than others?

You're telling me we can split an atom, build a computer, get across oceans and fly in the air AND SPACE. and yet no one can scientifically disprove the fact that a higher power doesn't exist? Mankind has disproved MANY phenomena at many times through history. Why does one of the oldest still remain with...a rather large following. I'm just saying, we can explain damn near everything - but not God.. It intrigues me. I do believe god exists. By that logic, ghosts, aliens, Bigfoot, chupacabras, the Lochness Monster and the Illuminati exist as well. Actually, most of those can be proven false because we actually know their origins, and therefore know they are made up (I am specifically referring to the Illuminati, chupacabras, and the Lochness Monster here). Either way, the burden of evidence is on theists.- Is there a God?

The pacing for LOK is all over the place. We just had an important confrontation with Amon and suddenly all Avatar training and Spec Op missions stop for a tournament and romance? Also, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU KORRA?! Asami is supposed to be the [bleep] not you!- The Avengers
Stupid work and school making me be busy... I'm seeing it on Sunday.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
I can see Amon beating Azula easily. All they need to do with Toph is immobolized her, which the Equalists have been shown to be pretty good at doing.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
But he's removing the powers of innocents as well. For most benders bending is their entire life. What's a pro bender or metalbending police officer going to do when he can't bend anymore? It's likely they didn't go to any post-secondary schooling (Is secondary schooling even required for benders?) and that they didn't take up a trade. You can't just take away the one thing that somebody has been doing for their entire life and has their entire future based on it.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Yep, that's a weak story. I don't understand how it's a weak story. Benders (of Republic City) have become weak. They're all either sports junkies or street thugs. Non-benders are actively training in defeating these benders, therefore they're actually able to win fights against benders.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
hmm it does really appear that you like scolding other people for getting upset at your legitimate criticisms. to me your criticisms are dumb because they seem to be made with the intent of stirring up trouble, not because they are unreasonable (i haven't thought about it so wouldn't know). Creating fictional worlds is difficult. they tend to have plotholes. even books that are planned out for years - where the author can include and explain as much as he wants - have plot holes. This is nothing new. To think korra fans would be ignorant of such a thing seems rather naive. It's not just a plothole. It's about having a weak story in general. Martial artists beating up master benders is a weak story. Things like this makes me miss the old TIF when it was normal to have differing opinions. Now it's "stirring up trouble". Just weird. Not when the master martial artists are being specifically trained to sap the master benders' power and the master benders are only being trained to knock each other off of a ledge.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Personally, I don't think Aang was a very good fighter. I mean, he almost lost damn near every fight he was in. He mostly won because of Avatar hax, help from friends, or his enemies not being prepared to fight an airbender. With Korra and the Equalists, they're being specifically trained to fight master benders and block their chi. Even if Korra is the Avatar she's at a huge disadvantage when she has to fight more than one. They have to fight earthbenders so the solution isn't as easy as "use rock armor" and waterbending will probably get her killed with the static baton fighters. Of course, she can't use airbending yet so her only option is firebending.- Avatar: The Legend of Korra
The Southern Tribe still considers themselves entirely independent from the Northern on many issues (if Northern Water Tribe still has the "women stay in the healing" bit on bending, so it wouldn't be accurate representation for the water part if both had to vote for the same position. Too be honest, I don't think Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation (which probably is a rust belt since Republic City seems to be the king when it comes to manufacturing) have any real bad deals. Although, if anyone got screwed, it seems the Non-bending community doesn't have a rep on the council's decisions at all, so they don't exactly have a voice in the city unless it's through the Equalists and Amon. Non-benders are still citizens of whatever nation they're from so I'm assuming that they're represented the same as the benders.- Today...

Does anyone else think it's kind of unfair that the Water Tribes get two representatives and that Tenzin gets to represent the entire airbending community (himself and three children) as equally as the rest? I feel like the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom got screwed in that deal.- "Like" button for comments
I feel like this would sort of degenerate into Facebook or Youtube where people begin fishing for Likes with every post they make. I'm willing to try it out for a while but if it gets to that please turn it right off.- Today...

I got an email from my college's Honors Program saying that I've made it to the final round of the school's freshman scholarship process. That means I'll be getting a $16,000 award! On top of that, I don't have to jump through hoops to get into the Honors Program. Now that I don't have to go through the agony of seeing if I can even get into Honors, I'm really thinking of doing it. I don't really know if I want to go to grad school yet but if I can get through Honors then I'll probably do grad school.- Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
You're just spreading them!- Today...
The most disturbing thing to me is that they keep every single chat log on their servers. If someone goes missing, the police can just ask Facebook who they've been talking to and find out where they might be. Or have evidence in court or something. It's not like they have a guy sitting there reading your conversations. So you'd be fine with the phone company keeping recordings of your phonecalls? Yes, I'd be perfectly fine with it. I'm almost sure it's something I agree to in order to use their services anyways. Unless you're planning terrorist activities, there's nothing special about your conversations that even justifies actually hiring people just to read through every single one of your conversations. - Is there a God?
